@@Evanz111 dude I just got a reply from a LUKE STEPHENS telling me to hit up some investment firm and tell them he sent me. They used his exact profile picture and I almost didn’t notice that their name was in all caps whereas Luke’s is not. Plus this didn’t sound like something he’d do or say at all and I’ve been subscribed for a while now.
Friggin scammers I tell you…
It's much better on console... please play it there someday
I agree with you that they should have based things off the "true" formula of AC instead of changing things and slowly added better AI.
HOWEVER, I don't agree with you that they should have focused on it SO MUCH, because after all as you've said they have that "Mission briefing" which was NON-EXISTENT since AC1 allowing you to actually PLAN your assassinations with a minimal info unlike everything in between those 2, which is the CORE of the ASSASSIN fantasy.
Obviously the believability of the NPC's helps immerse you in the world but AC is a Stealth game first and RPG second imo
as a Brit I hate it that they went to the U.K. twice and failed to nail an actual assassins' creed game.
I’m to this day still impressed by the sheer amount of NPCs on screen at once, even if it is a little buggy. This game definitely deserved better, and more time in the oven.
The first one with an actual stealth mode 😂
@@shokithedogandfriend438 stealth in the AC series was always based around blending in with the crowd, as soon as they put more effort into normal stealth they used up more controls on things that were less unique to the series and dare I say made it less likely for you to think of clever solutions. Unity however has a lot of tools and gadgets to make it much better than games like Black Flag which was basically tall grass simulator. (Not saying Black Flag was bad just that it had less stealth opportunities that made me feel genuinely assassin-like compared to 1-Revelations)
That is mighty impressive
They should consider doing a remaster for new gen with bug fixes and well Polish
Facts. I bought the ps extra and finally booted up Unity for the first time. Aside from graphics, I noticed the amount of npcs first. The cluttered, busy streets and courtyards is very impressive.
I honestly think that if it weren’t for all the bugs this game had at launch it would be regarded as the absolute best AC game
Gameplay-wise? Probably.
Story-wise? Hardly.
I think the first one or 3 have got to be the best ones.
@@sovereignstate6760 id suspect most people to say a ezio game or black flag
Absolutely not. The story was the worst piece of shit ever.
@@slentilus7439 was unity that bad? i remember 3 being the dogshit story
The fluidity of parkour made this my fav and the crowd densities in Paris made it extremely enjoyable and I love how open the assassination missions were and not having a set structure but it’s stealth is quite clunky at times and the free running is amazing the dlc is bloody amazing and free
And it’s a shame the co op content doesn’t have any solo missions in the same style

I played Unity a few years after release, on PC. I experienced next to zero bugs and was very surprised by how good the game was, after hearing so much criticism. One thing I was always flabbergasted was the quantity and quality of explorable building interiors. It was huge even for today standards. And the look of the interior of rich homes, WOW!!! It's really incredible!
The bugs he’s experiencing in this video are almost non existent when I play on consoles.
being inside said rich homes and lavish buildings and doing stealth missions was the most immersive thing ever.
Dude ! That’s what I just commented ! I think it’s a pc problem because I hardly had npcs popping up like that when I played it on the ps4.
same effect on me with Mafia III. Great story (including all extensions and no bugs at all). Sometimes it's good not to be an early adopter.
@@Jman511x wrong, you just ignore them.
Imagine an alternate universe where after this game failed, they actually listened to fans and improved on these mechanics through future games, instead of dropping everything that made the franchise great.
Syndicate and origins improved for the most part
@@Engille967 not really. Syndicate regressed a little and Origins changed just about everything. Not that Origins is bad.
@@YourDadYoda Syndicate downgraded the parkour and upgraded everything else
@@__leaf__6364 stealth in syndicate was improved with some new skills, whistling and better detection. Even hiring Rooks to distract was useful. Combat may seem like it downgraded but the unresponsiveness, 4-hit sponge player and no real dodging bullets gives Syndicate a boost. The liberating system was as improved as it could be. Syndicate has the 2 protagonist system once you get bored of one. Syndicate has actually good traversal and replayability. Assassinations were improved 10 times. I was 12 or so when unity came out and I still remember booting it up at 2 am and thinking it was remarkable. I wasn’t too phased by slight glitches since I had quite good control over the game for whatever reason. I always thought they made decisions based on reasons that had nothing to do with its failure. No one was sick of assassins, they were sick of Ubisoft.
Remember the time they abused the word "iconic"? That was a hoot.
Bro please check my velorent montage i spend too much time please watch 🙏
Something I didn't know about at first, but the option in the settings to change the voices to French was a game changer for me. The perfect answer to any gripes about the British voices.
It's definitely better in French
My only problem with that is that it also affects the modern day story. Characters like Bishop, Shaun, and Rebecca wouldn't be speaking fluent French amongst themselves. If they had a way to change the language for the Animus parts of the game without affecting the modern day it would've been perfect.
I specifically played in French for the immersion. Felt good.
If only the lip flaps matched lol
Bro please check my velorent montage i spend too much time please watch 🙏
Unity is my favorite AC game. I had a bug less play through some how on contrary to most other people. Hands-down, it has the best parkour in the series and also the best stealth.
I personally think the parkour is tied with the original style, but for different reasons. Unity is way more stylish and has a much higher skill ceiling, but it also suffers from automation, although that is lessened on KB&M. The original is a little iffy visually but the sheer precision is amazing
I also bought the game on launch and had a bugless play through aside from falling through the map one time very early on in the game I didn't have a single glitch from that point on and I put 100 hours into it
Same, I got very lucky, and never experienced any of the bugs others were seeing on PC.
@@rogue_0314 some of the animations in Unity really make no sense. The parkour was without a question better in the original games, even visually. Unity removed side ejects, fucked up back ejects, made catchledges automatic and you just hold space to climb up and what matters is not your input but context. The game autocatchledgeding when you drop is just bad. In the Kenway Saga parkour there were obstacles that could swinged or climbed DEPENDING ON YOUR INPUT. The manual jump button was fucked up and pressing high profile + jump will have you jump in any direction to the nearest ledge. In any earlier game it would make you jump up and could in sone context be used to get 1 level higher (height-wise).
Both stealth and parkour are better in Brotherhood, Revelations, AC3, Black Flag and Rogue while the parkour was better in AC1 and 2. Stealth was better in Syndicate and Origins
To this day, as unpopular as this is, both Unity and Syndicate are still my personal favourite Assassin's Creed games to date. It's just a shame that both games weren't as polished as they should've been, Unity especially. Here's hoping that both games receive the remaster/remake treatment in the future so that the bugs get ironed out
I join you too.
I don't think they will. For one, it's a lot of work to remaster big open world games. The amount of code and number of assets is just insanely massive. The bigger reason though is Ubisoft not wanting to remind people about what Assassins Creed used to be. They thought those games failed because they were Assassins Creed games made in the Assassins Creed style. Ubisoft feels like players are tired of that style of AC games which is why they went with the new style of games. Seeing what AC has become is just sad and it's only going to get worse. Origins and Odyssey weren't bad games, but they're not AC games. They're something else entirely and it seems like with every new game, they get further and further away from Assassins Creed. Maybe, someday, if Ubisoft gets sold, we'll see a return to the classic franchise, but this current Ubisoft probably doesn't see enough profit in remasters and probably sees them as a risk.
Dude, I loved to throw smoke bombs and silent knives to kill groups of enemies in a few seconds, only to leave feeling like a total badass.
If you have a ps5 or Xbox series x, unity runs flawlessly.
@@FlobsterforLobster lies still has technical issues that has nothing to do with hardware
Something about the lightning in Unity makes the game look so beautiful and colorful compared to any other Assassin's Creed title. Really incredible for a 2014 game.
Unity is incredibly impressive. I think it's the best looking assassin's creed and even though it's just short of a decade old, it at times rivals some next gen games I've played.
Origins odyssey and Valhalla all look better than unity unity only has lighting
@@ACLA23 well yeah there brand new
I serious loved the parkour system in this one. It’s such a shame they didn’t keep it for future games
I still remember the Arno monologue at the end. Has really stuck with me. Really enjoyed this game
I still come back to Unity from time to time and am always enthralled by the scope and vision of this game. I could take or leave the story, but the bones here are absolutely what this series should have been for the next decade. If refined and written with a more compelling story, this would have hands down been the best AC of the series. Arno is underrated, but the story just feels choppy and unorganized. Still, incredible gameplay imo.
Your closing thought is spot on. Between Unity's disaster and Syndicate's mediocre performance, it's heartbreaking to imagine what could have been.
Even looking at Unity now, 8 years later, it looks impressive. A fully realized open world 18th century Paris, fluid moveset/ animations and graphics that rival current games. Ahead of it's time imo.

I played this on my ps5 for the first time about a month ago and it ran so smooth. I did notice the occasional npcs that would disappear then reappear but it did not affect my experience. It sucks I can’t play syndicate on ps5 because of the bugs. Ubisoft needs to fix that but they never will

@@superunknown2812 I think Ubisoft actually delisted AC Syndicate from the PS5 store, but not Unity, which I find interesting
@@unicorntomboy9736 I thought it was still on there I think you can get it as a bundle as well and they had the gold version
Unity had my favorite climbing, favorite combat, favorite stealth, 2nd favorite aesthetics behind AC2, 3rd favorite economy system (Brotherhood/Revelations slightly better IMO) and to this day I feel like something magical was taken from us. This game with some polish would literally be the AC game I dream of, but I know we can never return to now.
@11:20
I think it’s more likely that the executives Properly identify the issue than misidentified the issue.
I think it’s more likely the Executives asked “why was our game so rushed and unpolished“ and the Developers said “because we built this robust climbing mechanic with lots of detail, and didn’t have time for the rest”
And so the executives Decided to cut production times in the climbing mechanic.
Remember, this was back when AC was still doing yearly releases. What these developers were able to accomplish in what little time they had is amazing. Now Ubisoft is giving AC games triple the production time of AC Unity. So I don't think giving developers more production time is as much of an issue anymore. I think the executives thought that the classic AC blueprint was the issue. Syndicate was too far along to change it so that game came out with that classic AC style gameplay, but every game after that got further and further away from what AC is. I think in some ways, the executives were right, people were getting burnt out on that AC style gameplay, but that's because there was a new game with a giant world every year. Now, people are begging for that classic style to come back.
And paid off since ditching it sales have sky rocketed and Odyssey was even nominated for game of the year. Usually Ubisoft Execs hold nothing but L's, but get a massive W with that decision.
Yup, this is probably exactly it. This dude speaks so confidently that you're almost fooled into believing that he knows any of this stuff. The truth is probably that the overly complex parkour system in Unity was way too expensive to continue doing, so they trimmed it. Or something of the sort. Happens all the time in the industry.
@@CallMeTeci It’s complex in the amount of animations, climbing nodes, intricacy of the terrain, etc. Probably very demanding on the development team and, in their eyes, simply not worth the effort. I bet the code looks like fucking spaghetti as well, but thats a wild guess.
@@CallMeTeci I mean ok. That still sounds pretty complex to me lol.
I love Unity as much as the next guy, and I’m not talking about the quality of the game here. Just making my guess on why parkour got trimmed.
I don’t think Unity is a bad game, I just think Luke Stephen’s takes are dumb.
I've been watching all tour videos lately, and this is like a gift, thanks!
Lol
Still visit unity every now and then, genuinely had fun with the game it's a beautiful buggy mess and I love it
I like this combat as well. Slow, but realistic, enemies are not damage sponges, but is not too much easy
What a great video Luke. I have the itch of playing this game again, for the sake of old times remembering myself on a Sunday morning wondering in 1700 Paris and solving mysteries or slicing goons.
I do remember it took me a while to get used to the movement, maybe due to lack of practice. I picked up this game when it came out but I wasn't playing any AC at the time.
What I would do like to see in the future for this franchise, regardless of what Ubisoft builds, is a full on stealth game like unity in terms of controls and mobility (and gadgetry), with the combat of AC: Origins, somehow I find those combat mechanics simple and straight forward, and still keep the compelling story telling that have been so powerful (just like origins). (I know is a strange combination per se).
All of this, situated in Edo time period in Japan or The original AC 1 locations (Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus). (and yes, Sucker Punch beat Ubisoft by a long shot in terms of location and historical assets of Japan in regards of Ghost of Tsushima)
Only if they expanded on this formula instead of turning into RPG wannabes
Unity is by far my favorite AC game. The parkour feels smooth, the crowds are amazing, the stealth system actually works, the combat was fun, Paris is brilliantly designed, and the first half of the story was good (let’s not talk about the last half).
Most the games I played when I was a kid weren't maybe the best, but they always made me use my creativity. This game allowed me to role play and be creative with an awesome setting. It was my own creativity that made this game enjoyable. If a game doesn't inspire you to be creative, it's a rigid mess. Games have to pull the creative side out of you at least a little to have a truely genuine experience. Ac Valhalla sucked the life outta me.
This is why I love simulation games.
Yeah! Love the way you explained this.
Another well done and thought out video! Great job!
I hope you're doing well luke! Take care of yourself and your health. Love you lots
When it comes to Assassin's Creed, there are so many ideas in previous ACs that they could have genuinely built upon but they said "hell man, we gonna strip it off!"
For instance I restarted Assassin's Creed 1, and the investigation system could have been improved a lot, we could start by investigating a target, and that could elicit a start of a journey, we could go from one mission to another. Picking up leads and then assassinate our target.
They could have simply added that in Valhalla or Odyssey, or Origins but no. All they did was hey look for these xyz clues and kill a random order of ancient who isn't a templar anymore. Ac is now all over the place and even lost the pivotal point.
bruh they even lost the satisfying combat unity and syndicate had. now we literally have one of the worst combat systems to date. That allone makes me hate the game.
Unity was the last AC game that actually made me feel like an assassin, detailed urban map, stealth focused, huge crowds, smooth parkour system with depth and badass hidden blade takedowns.
I wish ubisoft made another AC game like this again, just one more time.
I agree, it was the pinnacle of AC. Ubisoft listened to the critics instead of the fans
Simone Hicks fans were the reason Ubisoft apologized for unity
I absolutely love the parkour in this game. The ability to decide which direction you want to flow through was an amazing and very much needed implementation. I still think of this game fondly because of the parkour and lighting and think that Ubisoft messed up by ditching this system. I remember playing Black Flag very curious about how they'd handle parkour only to find that they reverted back to a very basic parkour system you find in any other game that lets you climb. I haven't been a huge AC fan; I really loved the first one because it was something new, then I enjoyed 3, but it seems that the series has become something entirely unlike what made it great. I actually just played Valhalla for the first time a few days ago and was very unimpressed. When Odyssey came out, people were saying that the combat was fun, so I was thinking I might enjoy fighting in Valhalla, but it was just very basic and unsatisfying and I found out how to cheese the enemies in my very first fight. I've long been very tired of casual gamers pre-ordering or paying full price for these games which lack in innovation and just churn out these empty husks of games which may look pretty, but play no better than games released 20 years ago.

I don't think that's the reason they simplified the free climbing sistem.
I mean, you say it like you were in those rooms listening to the reasons.
They simplified it because they completely change genre of game.
They knew the problem was the rushing, that's why Origin took a couple of years to come out from the previous game, and not a single year like it was before.
The games suck now fuck off fan boy
That's what Luke does, he compares one game genre to another to bolster his point, this time it was 'they got rid of free climbing' even though it still existed in Origins, a compacted city of paris was no where to be seen in ancient Egypt so the need to do it that often wasn't there.
I swear that's all this dude does. He speaks so confidently that you're almost fooled into believing that he knows any of this stuff. The truth is probably that the overly complex parkour system in Unity was way too expensive to continue doing, so they trimmed it. Or something of the sort. Happens all the time in the industry.
Tbh Ubisoft should of just stay with unity engine and work on it to improve it so it can be better and glitch free but no after playing the recent ac it made me realize why did I come back to gaming for this shit
Unity was basically the game that made me wanna get a PS4 when I was still playing PS3. Honestly, I really enjoyed it in 2014. I also think it aged pretty well. All of its major problems were mostly technical imo
I'm quite envious of those that encountered little to no bugs in their gameplays, good on you. I wanted to get into ACU really bad. The problem I encountered which took me out of playing it, aside from the bugs, was this; whenever I paused the game and went into the options, my PS4 fan would turn into a jet turbine. That confused me so much; how would going into an options menu be so resource-hungry? No other PS4 game I had did this or had this problem. I got so concerned for my console's well-being enough that I stowed the game away after a week. Yes, playing it on a PC rig might fix the issues, and honestly ACU will be one of those games I'll boot up and mod to fix when I get my own rig. But if only Ubi was a little more patient with this baby, it could have made a big splash.
The parkour in this one was on a whole different level compared to the past games. Arno really has a lot more ability to move the way you want him to when you practice and get used to the way he moves and the systems they put in place.
the game is still pretty broken, but the combat system in unity is actually super fun. i wish they’d kept going in that direction for later games.
yeah, I hope but i dont think ubisoft will
Like Luke said, Ubisoft learned the wrong lesson from this.
And to a certain extent, from Black Flag as well
That feeling of depression when playing Unity and realizing how glorious the serious could have evolved, hadn't it been for the broken launch of this game. That feeling is so real. One feels betrayed for games that never came to exist.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MAN, DO AC SYNDICATE NEXT
I love how every assassination mission in unity and syndicate feels like im playing hitman! Best level designs in franchise !

Unity is still one of my favorite games of all time, and I have fond and buggy memories of it. Yes I haven’t played a lot of games. But that still means something to me.

I literally picked this game up again after not playing since it came out and I did the mission you just did earlier, then came and saw this video a few hours later what a coincidence. I loved this game, the characters were so good and Arno was great, I thought he felt a lot like Ezio.
I bought this game for my birthday back in 2020 because it was like $10 on PSN and ngl, it was one of the best b-day gifts I gave myself. Despite hearing all the bad things about this game, I still gave it a chance and I liked it. The story was ok, but it was the gameplay that stuck out to me. I even got a friend of mine to play it with me just to dick around in co-op and even he liked it. Such a bizarre experience, but so much fun. Sort of want the next AC to go back to this. Possibly one of AC's finest moments, it just needed some touch up XD.
I would argue that the AI in AC2 was actually pretty good compared to others in the series. If you punched a civillian the others would back away from your in fear, some would even run away. If you stepped to oclose to a guard, they would shove you, and if you did anything like retaliate, then you would find yourself having to run away from an entire mob of guards.
Pop-ins and graphical issues were just animus glitches bro. This whole time we’re giving Ubisoft such a bad time when in reality we were more immersed than ever. (Sarcasm)
One of the things that this game did that I thought was very interesting was it moved the "send your team of assassins on a timed mission" side game into a mobile app. While you can argue that those missions aren't really that interesting, I thought the concept of being able to interact with the game while away from your console/PC was novel and could have resulted in something very cool if it was further fleshed out.

I don't remember much about the story other than some details, I don't think it was very memorable but it was cool seeing Napoleon though. Maybe I was not mature enough to appreciate the story OR it was boring.

I played it on pc 2 years after it released and I do not recall having any technical issues. It was a relatively solid game.
I actually just restarted unity last night. I figured it's been a long time, I remember almost nothing about it, cause I hated it so much the first time....I figured I'd give it another chance from an almost fresh mind. So yeh. It really is a beautiful game and the traversal of the maps is awesome.

I really love the old games. I also really love the new ones (Odyssey maybe not that much but it still belongs to the AC family). I put more than 200 hours in AC Valhalla and I enjoyed every single minute.
But seeing this and revisiting Unity myself I actually miss the old stuff. I hope that in September we get great news on AC and that we get to play either an Assassin or a Templar again and get more focus on stealth again. And combine that with the combat from Origins. I would really love to see dense cities again. Again I love both the old and the new but I think it is time to get back into the dense cities with a fun traversal, a good and rewarding stealth mechanic, and, if you f*ed up stealth, a good combat system. I see that Ubisoft can do that and I think they will do that. So, let's see what September's AC Event has in store for us. Thanks for this great revisit of Unity. Greetings from Germany :)
I'm just going to say, odyssey and valhalla are just those relatives who think they know what they are doing but completely change everything.

Yeah i really hate when someone says that this game’s underrated. It’s clearly not, hell sometimes even overrated.
Actual underrated AC games are Revelations,3 and Rogue.
The witcher 3 combat feels more like assassin's creed than modern assassin's creed games
The crowds were supposed to have a huge role, in the E3 demo (which they mention, is a polished slice of Game) the crowd enters dinamically to the palace. Through the Game there are missions that had crowds in mind but they didn't react.

With one of the patches they reduced it significantly for the sake of performance and I can’t understand why the did that even on ultra settings. For me, on my medium-low pc, this decrease changed nothing, maybe that’s a boost for systems on hdd.
I played this on the PS4 about a year after launch and I only remember positive experiences with it. I don't think I hit a glitch more than once that I actually noticed/affected my game play and that just seems normal based on playing games for years. I would love another game in this style.

I don't enjoy Ubisoft games as a whole. They're interesting to me and I love a lot of the game design in them, or the world's they craft-it's super cool what this studio creates and how, but I almost never get to engage with any of their titles because I don't enjoy playing them. However, your videos are a lens for me to peer into the creation and worlds of Ubisoft's games. I love your commentary and passion for these series and it's one of the most enjoyable ways for me to consume games like Assassins' Creed. Keep up the amazing work man, I love it!
I feel like he's missing the fact that assassin's Creed syndicate came out after this that still had this free roaming system and basically a very similar design. They didn't go from unity to origins
I didn't get a xbox one until the S came out and AC unity was my first game and I was blown away by the crowds the amazing interiors and gritty exteriors,I experienced roughly 3 bugs but nothing game breaking.
I got this game just a few days ago on my Xbox one s and I don’t have really any issues with textures npcs spawning in or the graphics. The only thing I’ve noticed are the janky rag dolls and the clipping issues at times but other than that it runs pretty much perfectly for me
I miss when these games were just 1 giant city where you could climb. Now it seems like every game is just open grasslands
What I liked about Unity/Syndicate was the Hitman style special assassinations you could pull off. Sadly removed afterwards, just like the free running improvements.
Preferred this combat system over the new ones by a million miles.
Easily my favourite AC game! Recently completed it again a few weeks back actually. The parkour is still the best in the series, heavy emphasis on stealth was great and I loved the customization. Apart from the odd drop in textures I don't really have anything bad to say about it.

Correct. The only issue I had was that it was rushed. I got it much later after updates, but this game is sort of underrated mostly mechanics wise. Like he said, the only issues where on the technical side. They just should've spent more time on it.

I really want them to make a new ac game like this again, with the same parkour, a dense city instead of a huge flat open world, and templars.
I have played tis game for only 4-5 hours. What irked me the most was mouse smoothing on camera and texture popping in even when maxxed out. There are also no fixes for those problems.
Controls are basic and easy to use though.
But having heard that the game has English accent when using English as audio language, I began game with French. Felt really authentic playing in French.
It's nice to hear someone else saying this! I've been singing Unity's praises for so long, it's such a shame in came out in the condition it did.

It's such a shame that people got so many bugs. I honestly can't think of a single issue that I had during my time. I was playing on the original Xbox One too. Whereas I found Syndicate to be a really buggy mess. No missing faces, but I had NPC's flying up and down and around the place, sections of the world disappeared (like that famous AC4 clip), etc. I still put over 100 hours in Syndicate, but it was definitely the buggier game.
Initially I had skipped over Unity, as I didn’t have a new gen console at the time and it was getting terrible reviews. I finally picked it up about a week ago, and I’m pleasantly surprised at how much I love it, it’s quickly become one of my favourite AC games.
The free running is highly nuanced; the combat system is punishing, encouraging tactical play of a sort previous editions have lacked; there’s a robust customisation system which, once you have your head around it, allows you to tailor Arno exactly to your play style; Paris is beautiful and I can spend hours just exploring in a way I haven’t felt compelled to do since AC2 or Black Flag; the side missions tend to have a narrative structure that makes them actually engaging, at least for me; I could go on.
I honestly haven’t noticed any major bugs, no more than in previous instalments, and nothing to really pull me out of the experience.
My only critiques that put this game in A-tier rather than S-tier for me is that while I love the concept behind the updated combat and parkour systems, it could have used a bit more care to iron out some details (controls can get clunky sometimes, with the famous exhibit of this being The Tournament, which becomes nightmarish for all the wrong reasons). This is probably my biggest gripe. Also the pay-to-win aspect, which bothers me more on principle, though I’m also of the opinion that in a single-player game, if shelling out money to get OP stuff early is what you find fun, more power to you. I don’t think it’s made a necessity at all, cash in Unity is easily obtainable as it is and I got the OP gear early too just by doing heists and getting the renovation chest on max income as soon as it became available.
Honestly, I can’t stand the latest RPG games, so rediscovering Unity was like a breath of fresh air. If Mirage were to have the same system with some refinements, it could be perfect.
I love your videos man
There is a lot to this games parkor besides just hold right trigger an press a or b. There is a lot of awesome parkor moves a lot of it is hard as hell because the parkor play off ypur camera. Great review. ALSO THIS IS MY FAVORITE ASSASSINS CREED GAME HANDS DOWN.
They should make assassin's creed in Dubrovnik. It would return the old city feeling from the first games. Btw Dubrovnik is a beautifull city in Croatia with a lot of history. You could place the game in reasance. You could have players hvaing big boats like in black flag. Dubrovnik was the first rebuplic to remove slavery so the story could be about that or about building the wals of the city or about foreigners atacking the city. City has Christian history so the templars would be very well placed. You could be a pirat or a regular assassin.
I’m not one to actively wish for games to be rebooted but the assassins creed franchise is absolutely one of the few that I think need to be rebooted, back to the drawing board because the new style games aren’t doing it… at least for me.
Unity was the pinnacle of the franchise for me, I never really encountered major bugs so my experience with this game was flawless, and it made it the highest point and where my love for the franchise reached its highest point…. It’s all been downhill from there unfortunately.

As soon as I finish Cyberpunk in the next week or so I'll be replaying this. I never finished the first time, just got burnt out on it and moved on.
I’ve just finished an entire AC playthrough. AC-Valhalla. Including all spin offs and DLC. It took me over a year but it was fun diving back into it like that.
I booted up Unity the other day and jeez, I forgot what it felt like to be an ASSASSIN!! This game nails that, this game IS assassins creed to it’s core.
Story is a little cheesy, but I like the dynamic with Arno and Elise. However, I wish we got a better fleshed out villian
Still in my Top 5 AC games all time. I love Arno, Elise, Bellec. I love the Parkour. I loved the stealth. I love the Phantom Blade. I loved being able to customize every detail of my outfit including colors. Graphically it still holds up today.
What hurt it for me was the story (why did Arno not try to find out who killed his biological father and try to kill Shay?) and the trend of killing off the love interest to make the MC suffer, among other things. Also not a fan of the combat but I do like how weighty it feels in comparison to other games.
This game had the most potential out of any AC ever made and just came short. But it's still got a special place in my heart.
This game is the last true ac game and despite it's rough launch it's stil a great looking game to this day. Great parcour with depth and good fun animation. Combat feels heavy and looks stylish without the feeling that u are OP.
Strealth is bether then ever and u FEEL like a assasin. Something ubisoft fails to give in all recent ac games.
The city is great full of detail and feels alive.
This was the way to go fore ac games. And i just hope that they give this game a remaster 60fps 4k on next gene en not 60 900p ( disc version) and that they make a game like unity set in Rome. Would love to see a detailed rome version like they did with paris.
I know Brotherhood did rome but common if u look at Paris just imagin a rome ore Jerusalem version in a later periode away frome desmond ore Altair.
all of thes bugs are fixable luke i just finally went through the process of editig the inl comands modding it and editing it you have to rely on the custom physics settings in the invidia settings and turn off teselation and increse resolution in the inl settings in you r doccuments its alot of work arounds ut the ultimte reult is perfection no npc poppin in and on no texture load outs and ac unity fixes added on to make the game the one we deserved
I know I'm late, but I just reinstalled Unity and had the same random drops seen in your clip. Once I activated NVIDIA Reflex for tbis game in the panel it fixed it fully. Flawless perf, apart from the classic Unity jank.
Still the best in the series.
Also what was great about unity was the customization, the suits u could have and change the colors, no other ac game did that again
I was always disappointed this game didn’t lead into an Arno trilogy with a setting during the Napoleonic Wars for the next entry.
It would probably never happen but I’d love it if Ubisoft would make a definitive anniversary edition of this game where they could fix the issues, rebalance some missions (make the multiplayer missions more balanced for solo players) and general quality of life improvements.
I would buy the shit out of this game if Ubisoft remastered it for the current generation. It looks and plays better than anything they've released since imo, it's just way too ambitious for the hardware of the time
My only complaint is that the revolution was not intertwined into the story enough. It felt like it was just the setting and nothing more. Whole story could have been moved into any onther history period and still stay the same...
When I played this circa two years ago I didn’t have any of the graphical issues, or even the NPCs spawning in. I only once had a game breaking bug, where I had to restart in the middle of a mission. Bugs like the one, where Arno glitches back, when running against that window don’t really bother me. Thus I had a great time with the game. Even though the story could be better imo.

I had no idea you made a video about it. Thank you!
I have always thought AC Unity is underrated. It could've been so much more
The only reason I ever played Assassins Creed games is to explore cities that no longer exist. I never cared about the story, which is why I'm one of the people who love how the modern day part of the games are barely there anymore. The French revolution is one of the most interesting time periods to explore and that's the real reason I love this game.
I played this on the Xbox One S awhile back, and it wasn’t as buggy, and not nearly as graphically faulted or clunky as it seems here. Strange
I remmeber i was 12 when i saw videos of people playing multiplayer. Thay was when i fell in love with assassins crees i then played assassins creed 3 then 2 brotherhood and recelations then i got assasins creed 4 and then syndicate. I tried ro get through valhalla and the greek one but never got through th
