When I was a kid, I sought out only the weapons with the highest stats, but replaying the game recently, I realized some of the "weaker" weapons have higher DPS or shorter windup animations or better stunlock rates, and so the "strongest" weapons are not always the best. Took me many years to realize that.

7) I'm still not sure how the Name-Change Ticket is interpreted as an unintended glitch. Why would it make sense to charge the player 40 Medals to rename a wrench to "Mimic Slayer" or something like that when the fish get a rename for free? There are also weapons only obtainable through the Name-Change Ticket. The game also seems to add "( )" to indicate the origins of the weapon. 19) I believe the Power and Protector Crystals are unique and increase their stats by only 2 24) There are enough Medals available that you can rename something and make a 5-Star Armlet pre-Lin 29) There are actually multiple glitches that can occur with these chests in Ch 3's Starlight Temple. The first is the ability to miss out on chests spawned after "Earth Shaking Demon". I believe you miss out on these by advancing to the next stage too quicky. The next one is missed out on by collecting a chest from the corner of the Weapon Shop platform. This prevents a chest from spawning in later when you enter the floor "looking for the Wind Gem". However, you can actually counter this glitch with another glitch by getting out of bounds in Starlight Canyon and bypassing the Star Barrier to enter Ch 6 early. This spawns in the chest without the need of completing Ch 4 and 5. 50) I spent the last week farming for Happy Clowns in the Underground trying to see if I could get an ABS-Up coin pre-Linda and I have recordings of the Clown offering the best prize in the same box back-to-back. I too believed in the alternating box theory until I started streaming about a year ago. Anyways, loved the video! You should check out doing a NG+ run with the Photo Album and Name-Change Tickets. It's a lot of fun, actually! I will say I was disappointed in a total lack of twerking during the Secret Track segment, lol. Did you ever check out Dragon Quest VIII? It may be difficult to get ahold of any physical copies since the passing of Akira Toriyama and people flock to purchase them. You should also check out the Aquarium more! There's a lot there that needs unpacked, like how every fish can be bred to pass on its colors. Or if you breed a larger fish with a smaller species, you can make giants that are hilarious to race with!
Haha wow lots of valuable info here! First of all, thank you for testing out the alternating box theory; that one was driving me crazy. Secondly, I thought people were getting sick of the twerking segment!! I took it out because I didn't want to upset anyone! Next, I haven't yet played the Dragon Quest series yet but I really should. Out of respect for Akira Toriyama if nothing else (although I'm sure the games are great). Lastly, I'm really curious about the Name-Change Ticket thing. I always assumed it was for cosmetic purposes just like the costumes, and they charge upwards of 60 medals for those. To me, it doesn't seem too far-fetched to throw in a fun little name-change feature to spend extra medals on (totally just my opinion, though)! The fact that you can obtain the best weapons in the game by, like, chapter 2 can't be on purpose... right?? Let me know what you think!
Figuring out the alternating box theory was just a side effect of trying to find out if there are coins available pre-Linda besides the Dark and Indestructible. I've spent about a day or two farming resets though. I think twerking is a lot like that bad medicine flavor, you don't even notice the taste when you're sick and need it. I didn't discover the Dragon Quest series until a couple of years ago. It's never a bad time to pick up a game and pay respects. I wish you could Name-Change by Ch 2! There aren't enough Medals for it. The first one you can afford is after unlocking Spheda in Ch 3. However, you can already have made two of Max's penultimate weapons through the use of the Photo Album in NG+. You can quite easily make insanely broken weapons in Ch 2 with the use of specific photos. These weapons aren't that expensive either. However, inventing them still prevents you from building them up to their ultimate forms. This is where the Name-Change Tickets come in. In a normal playthrough you're spending your Medals on outfits. After purchasing all of them you have enough Medals left over for 2 Name-Changes. However, again in NG+ where your outfits have carried over, you now have free use to do whatever you want with your Medals. For instance, make the ultimate armband to showoff to Lin. @@sketchesbyaidan

I can 100% confirm that the presents switch for the clown. I use save states when choosing as I have played the game too many times and just want a better experience for myself. So I had a save state exactly where I choose which box. I was screen sharing on Discord and my little brother made fun of me and laughed at me as for almost 10 minutes I kept choosing boxes and the item kept switching on me to the one I did not want. I thought the game was set on a specific item for some reason as neither box presented me with the item I wanted. Then I said I would just quit and play another game for a bit if I can't get it and then I finally got the item I wanted. So the item randomly changes boxes at times and the item is only set when you choose. It does not happen very often, however,
50: The clown, just like any chest, can be considered to be a chest with a specific item that was loaded in at the moment you enter the floor. The difference is that instead of containing one item, it contains a pool of two. The item you receive as a reward isn't tied to the box color, and is truly just based on rng while you make your choice. So when you pick, you either roll a coin for the better reward or the worse item. The choice really doesn't matter. This can be confirmed when you savestate right before opening the chest. You can pick the red box and either receive the good reward or the bad reward every time you reload the savestate and go for red repeatedly. The items will always be the same ones (loaded in with the floor), but the result will change depending on the hidden game code's memory value when you interact with the chest.
For the clown I remember using state save yeaaaars ago and yes, the good gift switches each time I load the state save I usually used it for the spheda it was such a pain xD

{Like what's next a bunch of arts discovered for both games???}
3:02: Oh?? 👀 I must share this one with my sister....!!!
That clown.... So far in my sister's playthrough it does seem to switch boxes it looks like, at least so far. She also keeps getting the devil coins more than the Angel ones.
WHY DIDN'T THEY PUT THAT SOUNDTRACK IN THE GAME IT'S SO GOOD
I KNOW RIGHT. WE'VE BEEN ROBBED
Because it’s a ripoff of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, probably
i wish i could get this game on pc (legitimately) i remember vividly the day i got it, it was a "gift" from my brother, we went to the capital to do some shopping in a big mall (in my country, spain, the only big mall back in the day was "El corte inglés") and it caught my attention massively from a far (for some reason..) and it was the last copy of the game too, o remember spending like the 2hours that took from us to get back to our city reading the back and looking at the pictures.
I enjoyed dark cloud 2, I didn't even think in my first playthrough to take pictures. I didn't know about the weapon changing from the name tickets, good to know for next time
I enjoyed both games and I didn't know in the first game you can put attachments on your weapons without having to permanently put them on when your weapon levels up.
Was hoping to see a fact about the miracle chest that disappears in chapter 3/6.
Always have to look up which one not to open in stardew valley each playthrough
Nice job :)
If you're interested there's a PlayStation 5 game that just came out called astrobots and they was paying homage to all the PlayStation's history well half of it at least in one of the costumes is Max costume from dark cloud 2
Number 11.
King Reybrandt is Seda from Dark Cloud 1.
Should be 4 returners, no?
I mean the ripod with trackwheels and katanas could count as running the enemies over lmao😂
fastest weapons? , Where is the Chronical 1 and 2 sword? I found those were hella faster over the Grade zero , Sigma breaker , Griffin fork and Muramasa
I think the clown does two rng checks from my experience trying yo game it with save states. One to choose the gifts and one for which one you get. Since I choose the gift, get the bad one, reload choose the other and get the same one, then reload again and get the one I want
Ty
GET OFF YOUR LAZY BEHIND.
Forever burned into my head hahaha
Who the hell is Maximonicia?
I think that's the shipping name
Very Nice

I actually would watch a play through.
You should make a Skyrim video.
Now play graffiti kingdom
何で海外版だとマックスって名前なんやろ。ユリスって問題あるのか?
Buddy I'm an American and if there's one thing you need to know about us Americans we're really good at taking stuff from Japan that is already fine and just screwing it up really bad that's just what we're famous for and if you don't believe me if you play the game on the mega drive called strider hiryu I know it came out in the arcade too but the minute when Japan decided to let America make a sequel to the game it was really bad even though we Americans screw up lots and lots of stuff we get from Japan we're starting to learn from our mistakes even Miyazaki what's going to discontinue releasing his movies over here because we false advertise some of them and we was editing stuff out
