- I must admit to being very pleasantly surprised with this ship. I've seen people flying her where she lumbers around like an elephant with a hangover. So I didn't hold high hopes. However, if you can keep her relatively light (IE not hull tank the living hell out of her), and keep power in her engines (which holds true of any ship, really, their flight characteristics change drastically between 0 and 4 pips in ENG) then she's quite a nice, stable gun platform to use.
Another demonstration, too, of how ludicrously useful Cytoscramblers are. Just two of them in the Class 1 slots (which no one really knows what to stick in there, lol) will give you all the shield stripping power you need without having to resort to filling the ship up with distributor hungry lasers, leaving you free to go with hard hitting kinetics.
Lastly, the ship has relatively powerful retrothrusters, not dissimilar to the Medium Alliance ships. Making her turn quite a bit better than her figures would suggest. Worth trying out, IMO. She's cheap and packs quite a punch. As good as, say, the Crusader or Challenger? That's hard to say, she's definitely far more stable, and has more firepower as well as an SLF bay. Personally I prefer the FGS to something like the FDL or the Python. That class 7 Distributor is very useful. I'll leave you to make up your own mind.

unique builds, an unusual combination of non-meta weapons and non-meta ships - that's why I really love your channel)). For example, wherever you go, any gunship fit is multicannons on fix...booooreeed. P.S I also really liked the fit on the aliance chalenger.

@@Kaethena I absolutely agree with you :) I use 2 scramblers, a peacemaker with double shot, 2 advanced plasmas and 2 multicanons on my gunship. And I get genuine pleasure from having such a variety of weapons 😄
I also made a T10 with a plasma fit and pacifiers on each side of the wing. Very specific but fun and powerful fit)
@@dibelmont7463 Big kudos for the T10 loadout. That must take a good deal of skill to use those weapons on that ship. The only time I put fixed weapons on mine was for AX, because... well, you can't really miss a Cyclops or Hydra, lol.
I recently made an only hull and only shotguns FAS. Size 3 pacifiers and the others, regular ones (obviously). All fixed because you have to be very very close. All engineered to double ammo but I am going to change to double shot.
Everything is engineered to grade 5, except the hull reinforcements (so far).
This thing is devastating and satisfying. The first kills I unintentionally laughed like Mr. Burns in maniac mode when the poor wanted ships disappeared with only 2 shots.
I have this as my surface missions bomber, aptly named The Lancaster. All dumbfire missiles, save for two beams for the floaters, all fixed. One volley and any ground targets or defences will blow quicker than a prom date after jello shots. The splash damage alone is enough to take out any power plant or skimmer. A couple of runs, head on or sideways with faoff, that's how steady she is, and you can just mosey on in driving the car with one hand and drinking your coffee in the other. Job done.
Yeah, you're right, the ship is very stable. That sounds like a bit of a lethal planetary bombardment build :D

I've not played around with the FGS for a long long time..... time for a bit of WD40 and a damp cloth I think!
LOL! I know what you mean. I flew one once, before the Engineers came out. It was like night and day. But that's kind of the point of these vids, to get people looking at ships that would ordinarily just sit there or be ignored. :D
