Jimmy reeeeeeeeally needs to make some playlists for these builds lol. It’d make it easier for newcomers to see older videos, like Nissonda being built, and it would help people who’ve been here to rewatch.

i started trying to do it for the civic when i first started watching him but the titles were alwasy different, sometimes its nissanda, sometimes its civic, sometimes its honda

I think the reason why the motor hasn't blown up is because there's no ring land left.
Take the turbo off and see if it smokes when you start it up, make sure it isn’t the turbo seals.
Nissonda identifies as a Subaru… it’s vaping not smoking.
Unpopular opinion: you have so many awesome drift cars, this car won’t see much seat time. I think you should make Nissonda a spooly grip/track car.

I think another car would make for a better grip car. Why make a Civic RWD if you're not gonna throw the back end around!? FWD Civics already dominate time attack. I agree he needs a grip car tho. Maybe one of the S chassis
I have an SR20DET blacktop that needs a rebuild (been sitting outside for a few years) and 5 speed trans thats in good shape - if you want more backups to eventually build

The smoke definitely went away alot, might be the turbo leaking oil into the housing, the turbo drain could be backing up oil into the housing or something not sure the oil drain setup
Mine did the exact same, made boost fine but leaked a lot of oil and fouled the plugs at times

You think that’s bad? I just realized this morning that all of my Toyotas are, and have been for seven years now, RWD. I used to be MrFWD with a seemingly endless series of Celica builds but I never really noticed the transition until I was smoking this morning.
(TBH, I still have one Celica; a 1994 but it’s AWD so, technically, all of my rear wheels are drive wheels)
all these KA motors needs is forged pistons and head studs, stock rods and everything else is fine to 7500rpm and 600hp+

18 psi on a much better Garrett T61 turbo and built KA with 264 cams, I made 385/350. It’s reading a solid 100 off.

There is something so class about the fact that you put a nissan engine and running gear in a Honda civic and that you have plans to put a Honda engine in a Nissan. Love the fact that you think outside the box and give yourself a challenge

I refound this channel about a month ago after seeing Jimmy start the channel from Adam BMX days. I've just binged the last year a half of vids this month and seen the two new shops and all the cars and to see Nissonda again and the boys all sticking around and RJ getting the shop really hitting and DJ starting youtube. Yeahhhh buddy! Finally some Nissonda content!! I think this project is so fascinating because (and I'm sure I'm not the only one here who thinks this) my car passion was ignited in the late 90s and I started building Hondas. Ill always have a passion for Hondas even as my taste and interest has shifted into drifting over the years. So to see a clean Civic, with a proper rwd swapped Nissan drivetrain, just does it for me. Don't ever underestimate what you guys have built, I know I've dreamt of doing something similar but you guys made it reality. Honestly I'd take Nissonda over most other project cars out there! haha. Just brilliant 👏

Yo Jimmy. Great to see KA make some jam! Just on the dyno reading high...not sure about your one, but most roller dynos require the car to coast down freely after a pull as it uses that to calculate the losses from the roller, tires and strap load etc. Maybe you jumping on the brakes after each pull screwed with that adding more losses in the calc and so doing making it read high? Just a idea tho. It might be worth a shot to check out.

The KA's are really good engines if they're built right. And I do believe you did build this one right. My KA out performed my SR, yes the KA parts are little pricier. This build was the reason I subscribe to your channel so keep up the good work and keep them videos coming.

Love this car. I know you fellas are into drifting but I reckon it would go well as a track/time attack toy. Good wheelbase, track, light wieght and it will handle well. Your cars need to have a purpose, or sell them on.

Also, I have the same Civic, but mine has a fully built LSVTEC and makes 612 whp on a GT3582R turbo at 22.5 psi with a built Civic Type-R head with Skunk2 Stage 3 NA cams tuned on a Hondata S300 V3 on E85. Before I built the block I rebuilt it with new rings and bearings (on stock internals) and with a built B18B1 NON-VTEC head with BC stage 2 turbo cams it made a consistent 408 whp on 15 psi. Honda engines make some good power when they're tuned properly.
Edit: yes, obviously I know that this Civic has a Nissan KA24...I've built many cars, I'm not a keyboard mechanic...lmao
