Hopefully this helps!

One of the other youtube guys, I think Matt Armstrong had steering issues like this. He replaced the steering column control module and made no difference. He then replaced the entire front steering rack, and it worked perfectly. This is worrisome. It tends to confirm that damaged EVs take very little damage to be totalled. Imagine a planet with a few billions of them on the road.
Great video, great content. Thank you for the update on Plaidessey #2. I love all of this. Including your I.C.E. vehicles. Thank you for having an open mind and embracing old as well as new tech. This is very exciting. It would be cool if Tesla had a dragstrip mode where the FSD would stage, hit perfect lights and run the 1/4 mile as well. Talk about cheating in bracket or index racing. 🤣
My first FSD Experience was in a model x. Did a 10 and 15 minute drive with no interventions 2 years ago in beta never touched the wheel. Really opened my mind to how well it can work!
I recently saw that a Tesla was totaled on the cost of all new airbags....apparently the insurance co. said never mind fixing the wreck damage because the airbags exceeded the worth of the car. I would be very wary of the battery having been subjected to some g force....it only takes one of those cells to go bad to screw the whole battery pack.
ADAS, great on Freeway & some Back Roads. Full self driving is still far off though. Biggest issue with the Tesla systems is it struggles to create a 3D path. So a Motorcyclest could appear as a Tar Patch in the Road. Furthermore Both Cameras and Millimeter Wave can be jammed||Blinded||blocked... That said I wish, our Gov would step in and force the automakers to put some kind human requirement. Most Cars after 2018 can Start, Shift out of Park, Accelerate and Brake without a Human. That is scary. Someone should atleast have to physically Shift it out Park. The RoboTaxi was said "You can use your Tesla as a RoboTaxi in about a year". That was said about 10 years ago... Also do not be moving the steering during any Calibration unless told too when Wyatt moved the Steering that was a mistake, also be on flat surface, have all the Tire Pressures Correct, good idea to have the DOORS CLOSED, be in a big open area, Batteries Charged, alignment to steering wheel 0 correct, Loads OFF||ON and there is an order in which you need to Clear/Calibrate things. I have seen cars refuse to "Get Ready" for IM test and swear its because you need Seatbelt on. These Cars have a mind of their own and some the issues I have seen is exactly why I drive a Clean burning 1993
It's asking for "ransom" money. That's why it's totaled. Other cars have no software blockade like this piece of steel on wheel. Tesla is just like Apple tbh

I don’t like the idea of this limp / disable mode , what if you have a real emergency and need to get out of the area such as a tornado or a big war or something which isn’t out of the realm of possibility depending on location… there should be a way to over ride this system
This problem didn't happen randomly, the vehicle was involved in an accident, most cars aren't drivable after an accident. Lots of modern cars including ICE vehicles have limp modes when issues occur, for the safety of the passengers and the vehicle. Its designed to allow you to get out of potential harms way(off the interstate, or into a parking lot) without causing more harm. In the old days before computers you might not realize your engine has an issue until pieces of it are scattered across the road and your car is completely dead in the middle of the road.
Makes you wonder if the eSIM's buried deep in the innerards of most modern cars (especially Tesla's), go thru batch revisions (for compatibility with Cellular infrastructure). I know Verizon issues revisions to their physical SIM cards every so often, and alienates older batches, but eSIM's (the firmware equivalent), are supported to evolve, although i suppose in order to do so, they need to remain connected to the internet and so low to no battery conditions were probably to blame, leaving you in a chicken vs egg dilemma unless Tesla gives you a back door to update the builtin LTE/5G NIC for the onboard telemetry & overall software related insoverventy.
Tesla requires a front steering column/steering & suspension inspect after any collision. So much as a tie-rod’s bent (up front), PER TESLA: (not necessarily NHTSA), the entire rack requires replacement. They run about $2,650 for parts, and around four hours labor…I assume the “rear steer” doesn’t like Kyle’s “heat-em-up” rear “limp mode fix”, as it has rear-steer…😬

Hi BoostedBoyz, I was catching up on your latest video and there is a secret feature that I am confident is also on your Cybertruck. As all models of Tesla’s that dont have the stick shifter, have a manual override above the Hazzard button, above the rear view mirror. I was playing with a Model X to answer some questions I had that the member of staff had no answer to, so I got playing and was curious about what looked like a membrane switch above the rear view mirror. Pushing it for a second, revealed a hidden gear selector, for P, D, N, R. So you could use that instead of the screen. Given the drama your having and I don’t think your aware of that feature. It might help you with your future recoveries, getting the vehicles into Neutral. I’m Phattgreg on x.
Same is true of ICE cars at this point. Most of the gas or diesel engine is computer controlled. You will find that most manufacturers will void the warranty if you change the engine coding from factory spec. To be fair to manufacturers, it is possible to set the coding in ways that will damage the car, hence the voiding policy.
Did you replace the broken ethernet loop cable? If it can't communicate with rear it won't allow to drive most likely. Maybe one of the ribbons is damaged and it's using a secondary but won't allow with just one. Good luck, Casey
On your X what version of FSD do you have you can check under software. The reason I ask is because 12.3.6 is hands on only and 12.4.3 is hands free only when there is a green dot beside of the indicator for AP. Also 12.4.3 is only out to very select users. I think you might have an employee build of FSD. Also you can turn on auto speed offset under autopilot settings and it allows the car to drive at any speed it deems necessary and keeps up with traffic. Sorry for the long message great videos
Love the vids also in fsd u can set it to 5 over speed limit and if u are if fsd and your coming up to a yellow light just press the pedal and hold it it will go through the light
It detects: that the vehicle collided, that you straightened that steering end and it has a dimensional difference with a new one. Keep it in mind. And also, Tesla immobilizes the vehicle remotely and you may need its OK due to the accident.
Also any damaged cable can cause can bus network errors. Think of it like a damaged ethernet cable, sometimes it will still work, but the noise is so bad everything is super slow.
So you need the suspension module as well if you are replacing the steering module. And while you’re at it change the blinker fluid module 😁- I love teslas by the way. The R&D in these technologies is insane! 🤯
Don't be discouraged, these things are so new and like you said, youre literally the 1st to do this with the CT so keep your head up. You will figure it out!
The steer-by-wire system uses sensors that relay signals to and from the module. There might be an axle positioning sensor or actuator that was damaged or disconnected in the accident(?)..

This is perfect for all the old people who shouldn't be driving but still want to. But I'm a firm believer, if you take away the fast problem solving our brains do while driving you are letting a skill go to nothing. You don't use something constantly you those it.
Have you tried taking it of the 48 v battery and then taking out the safetyloop plug, waiting a few minutes and then placing the loop back and connecting it to 48 v again. Sometimes that will fix the contineus failure issue.
I am certain that you will figure this out and get this truck repaired/rebuilt. As I suggested before, I would definitely restore it to OEM specs. You will be very happy with it as the original owner said he was. There is nothing that can't be fixed. It's just a challenge right now. Also, I think one sleeper is enough for anyone. I would restore the Model X to spec. You are already amazed at its capabilities. Just bring it back to factory spec and you will have a great vehicle. One sleeper is enough.
Very Cool. The improvements that you are talking about to make the system better than a human driver, are just a few small steps away. Detecting a stalled vehicle, traffic control officer, navigating around animals, road work, and accidents. The

One of the other youtube guys, I think Matt Armstrong had steering issues like this. He replaced the steering column control module and made no difference. He then replaced the entire front steering rack, and it worked perfectly. Theory was the the accident tweaked the motors that drive the steering arms, then it just kept returning errors until the steering unit was replaced.
Best of luck with the Cyber truck. You're a smart dude. I know you'll get it figured out.
the rear where he fixed it works fine.
My first FSD Experience was in a model x. Did a 10 and 15 minute drive with no interventions 2 years ago in beta never touched the wheel. Really opened my mind to how well it can work!
It would be hilarious if you made a boostedboiz version of “James get the toolbox” shirt but it’s Kyle and the laptop with a field of totaled EVs 😂
This made me crack up laughing aye that’s too good
I live close by and just opened a Tesla repair shop not far from u guys.If u want I’m happy to get some parts for y’all at cost. Love the content!
I love all of the project you decide to put your hands on! Keep on doing great content!
Love these new Mics you use, sounds great!
except for the dang hiss! if you wear headphones it’s pretty annoying

He should call that one the Xtessey! 😀👍🏻
@4literv6 yes!! Lol that's a good idea
Love the EV content. Keep it up Boiz
I think you should call it the Xdyssey
😮😮 yessss
Telsa content 🔥Love it.
Kyle and Wyatt, y'all rock! Peace
5:35 that is a nice clean service center. Amazing, no oil stains anywhere. Probably no toxic gas smells too.
and amazingly full of teslas that everyone brags how there's nothing to service on them. the holy grail of zero cost to operate. just think, if we got rid of oil just a few years back, there wouldn't be any evs. its a shame libtards and climate freak extremists are forcing evs on the motoring public. teslas were cool 10 years ago before this braindead idea of banning ice vehicles was concocted. when you ignorantly push anything on people that aren't sheep, you get the pushback and division you're witnessing theses days.
Holy cow, so once the internet goes down and power grids are hacked, tesla drivers are walking.
And what will you be doing exactly? At that point we are all screwed

I don’t like the idea of this limp / disable mode , what if you have a real emergency and need to get out of the area such as a tornado or a big war or something which isn’t out of the realm of possibility depending on location… there should be a way to over ride this system
I don't know... Did you see the other car that t boned the Cybertruck? How far would you have come with that in your tornado scenario.
@TschingisTube silly cyber lover kid here. Look at all her comments.
I'm 47yrs old. $73,000 biweekly and I'm retired, this video have inspired me greatly in many ways that I remember my past of how I struggled with many things in life to be where I am today!!!!❤️

Hi BoostedBoyz,
I was catching up on your latest video and there is a secret feature that I am confident is also on your Cybertruck.
I’m Phattgreg on x.
good luck man! I'm sure you can get it sorted. Tesla built these things to plug and play.
Oh my God this is so obviously a Tesla commercial y'all need to find your soul again.
Do you really own your car? To Elon Musk and Tesla: NO!
these tesla videos tell me ONE THING......You buy a Tesla and YOU DO NOT OWN IT......I will avoid owning one at all costs.
Good luck,
Casey
I never realized how important it is to slow down at intersections.
It detects: that the vehicle collided, that you straightened that steering end and it has a dimensional difference with a new one. Keep it in mind. And also, Tesla immobilizes the vehicle remotely and you may need its OK due to the accident.
Tesla tech here, love the vids. Havnt got to work to much on the CT yet but I know racks are pretty common on the x and s. Good luck!
Met you in Clermont when I was there for training. Have fun with the FSD, its such a neat feature. Hope to see the prelude again soon.
Finding this series super interesting. Keep it up!
The camera is going to communicate to the steering rack module. I dont work on these, but one problem leads to another. Fix everything.
Also any damaged cable can cause can bus network errors. Think of it like a damaged ethernet cable, sometimes it will still work, but the noise is so bad everything is super slow.
You should try Waymo if you ever make it to Phoenix, AZ. We have full self driving "taxi" on jaguar I-PACE
There is just one tool you need for a dead CyberGarbageTruck and that is a SawZaw....
Break it for parts and you will triple your money....
The steer-by-wire system uses sensors that relay signals to and from the module. There might be an axle positioning sensor or actuator that was damaged or disconnected in the accident(?)..
sounds like the encoder is not talking to the computer from the searing rack. You probably have a severed connection.
Tinkering with 3 evs , love it ! Great content
That autopilot is so cool makes me wanne swap my Hyundai Kona. The wife has other thoughts unfortenately😂 great projects ypu guys have respect. Greetings from Holland
Perform a hard reset, open charge port-> close charge port-> open HV disconnect loop -> open LV Battery, wait 60 sec and power back up. Re-do calibration
My father in law has a Model X with full self driving and it worked remarkably well. It once got confused in a parking lot and tried to go out the entrance...he had to stop it.Other than that I was impressed.
Were going to rent Tesla Toolbox for a day $165 maybe a week for $5,000.
Mom and pops are the greatest thank you for coming to ct see you guys tomorrow
This is perfect for all the old people who shouldn't be driving but still want to. But I'm a firm believer, if you take away the fast problem solving our brains do while driving you are letting a skill go to nothing. You don't use something constantly you those it.
Tesla really are well designed and built, and really well thought out !
You guys seem pretty hip with it. Good luck with the learning curve!😅
Bro I went out and bought a Tesla model S bc of you , you showed me it’s possible to fix it myself , can’t wait to start modding it
Have you tried taking it of the 48 v battery and then taking out the safetyloop plug, waiting a few minutes and then placing the loop back and connecting it to 48 v again. Sometimes that will fix the contineus failure issue.
Is it possible to share dollar amounts for every little thing you do? I know you are talented, but it gives some of us broke people hope.
Could it all be caused by the interior wiring connector that came apart? Steering by wire and those wires were apart
Just contact Tesla's corp team. They 100% will help you with changes and all sorts of stuff. Dave Sparks did that and was able to change some things.
6:50 yeah just cameras, pretty wild huh!
compared to all those lidar radar cars ruining the aerodynamics & adding cost
Go to Tesla to have the steering recalibrated for $50,000
I like to break down of the issues and level of thought that went to the remedy
Don't rush the v2 take your time on it so your make it much better then the v1.
I'm thinking buying a regular cybertruck would be a big mistake. 😂😂😂😂. Stainless yet they're already showing rust signs
The
