With the help of true crime creator Dire Trip, in this iceberg explained video, we're heading down the 'Strangest Crimes' iceberg, to uncover some of the most weird and whacky crimes ever committed. The reason that there are so many wild stories from florida is because they have a law there called the Sunshine Law which makes all legal proceedings at the local and state level open to the public.
So really, the scary part is realizing the rest of the US is probably just as wild, we just can’t know because most states don’t have that law. 😂

Your criminal history is considered public knowledge, and the information can be requested from the state for free. At least in PA, but I think federally.
Also in PA most cases, always civil cases, but many criminal case proceedings are open to the public.

im pretty sure caitlin dougherty covered the tri-state crematorium and along with mercury poisoning, suggested possible brain damage from previous sports injuries to explain the situation (NOT excuse obviously). i havent watched the video in a long time so i may be wrong/confusing cases, but regardless, its a good video and i highly recommend it if the case interests u!

The crematorium incident is easily the mildest out of all of these if the mercury poisoning theory is true. With a high enough concentration of mercury in the brain, a person really can't be held accountable for their actions...especially when there was no physical damage to the living when all was said and done.

Really fascinating topics in this video, too, some crimes were funny to hear about again, like the doorbell licker and lemon juice bank robber - I'd almost forgotten about them :') Others were shocking and make you really question humanity, what drives people to be so recklessly and needlessly evil, and, well, just - how bizarre the world is, like the blow-dart lady

fr tht whole case was dumb as shit after it kept going w the same two cats. “oh no my cat that i let outdoors keeps getting shaven! better let him outside again and hope it doesnt keep happening and that he doesnt kill any surrounding wildlife since cats are no longer parts of our natural ecosystem!” literally put your cat on a leash or create an outdoor catio area thats fully covered with some sort of netting to keep them from escaping. and there ARE rent/apartment-safe ways to make a catio like that, source: my roommates and i are making one.

@@k.o.h3599no cats are part of the UK ecosystem, they’re native and have always been outside here. No one in the UK supervises their cats or only takes them out on leads, it’s cruel to force an animal to live inside when it wants to go out. Cats will get violent or depressed when kept indoors.

I agree, and also agree that cats should be kept indoors all the time if possible, but some cats just refuse to stay indoors and are very unhappy being inside all the time. Maybe this cat was same?
@@camelkingclarith luckily, any cat can be kept happy inside with enough interaction and enrichment! And if you really want to let your cat be outside, they can be leash trained, or you can let them out into your backyard with close supervision, just like you would a dog :)
@@zoogrrl5309 I've had multiple cats that i've raised entirely inside. Some had been inside all their lives, some had been strays until we took them in. All of them were able to be happy as inside cats, except for one. We could never get him to be happy inside, no matter what we did. We let him be an outside cat for that reason only. I'm sure he knew he was sacrificing safety for freedom, but that was his decision. We loved him too much not to honor his decision. I doubt he's the only cat like that, so while most cats definitely can be happy inside, some just can't. He was neutered, chipped, vaccinated, etc. to minimize any risk, and he lived a longer and healthier life than most outside cats.

My family had a cat that loved to be outside and just lay around, so I get that theirs may have been the same, but if this was happening I wouldn’t let my cat outside alone

Forreal! I can't believe they continued letting their cat out when it kept coming home shaved, up until it came home actually hurt! Unfortunately, the attitude in the UK is VERY against indoor cats, even though it's absolutely proven that they have better, longer lives inside and don't destroy the local ecosystem that way. So she probably thought she was doing what was best for her cat that way.

About thirty or forty years ago there was a guy in Indiana who filled in all the coin slots in the parking meters in crown point city Square with super glue. He did this because the city just had installed them & his wife got a parking ticket. The meters were taken down, never to return🤣🤣
Oh yeah, and there was some guy in the next town over that got arrested 3 times for having sex with chickens. He didn't get much jail time because he pointed out that the chickens were already dead, so he wasn't abusing animals. Yeah... there's some effed up people in Indiana. Luckily, I left there.

im sorry but if your cat comes back from outside with their fur shaved... why would you keep letting them outside?? i know that some cats just are used to being outside and are generally happier that way but their safety should be the first priority. it may have just been shaving this time but it could have evolved into something much worse. this is honestly one of the many reasons why cats shouldn't be let outside by themselves at all.

Crazily enough I'm in the States and I too have had to run in with a random cat shaver. For about 9 months while my partner and I lived in an apartment building our cat toshi would come home every week with a shaved stomach. We never figured out who did it and because toshi was literally a ragdoll kitten you could do anything to him and he would pretty much not give a s*** He probably liked the way the electric razor fell on his stomach and I believe that's why the person continued to do it so often.
It's weird how it's not an isolated incident, maybe a lot of people have got a similar sense of humour, but as with most of these entries, the question is always... Why???

My friend’s neighborhood has a cat that roams around and gets fed by several people. He says they don’t know who she belongs to but in the summer time she randomly shows up with a shaved belly lol of course, she could just belong to someone but I find it more humorous if one of the neighbors is just shaving her belly in the summer time. Though it’s admittedly more logical since she’s a long haired cat and we get pretty hot summers. Lol

Shavin a cat especially an outdoor cat is dangerous because their fur protects their skin. When their skin is bate it cat easily be cut on branches or during fights with other cats.

The story about David was really interesting to me. I’m actually from a town just outside of Yakima and congratulations on pronouncing it correctly lol a lot of people don’t specially when they’re not from the area. I don’t really remember hearing about the story as I was only 10 when he was positively identified, but definitely going to ask my family about it next time I talk to them.

The first thing I heard was aYOWAYO but it was a ad scared me so badly istg
I can't handle sticky stuff, so just the thought of barrels of maple syrup is freaking me out.
Also, I clean my doorbell. Usually when I clean my doorhandles.
Makes me want to get a security camera and tape a sign to the front door: "Please do not lick the doorbell." I get a lot of deliveries and I suspect some of those drivers get pretty bored...
The cat shaver case baffles me. Not because of whys or hows, but because these people continued letting their cats roam after the first time their cat was shaved. That is highly irresponsible! Putting aside how distressed cats were after spontaneous shaves, how do they know that the person responsible for the shaves won't go a step further? 🤨
