I was a huge fan of Love Live from 2015-2019. I got into it because of the mobile game. It’s crazy to think I didn’t know about any of these stories.

I still really like Love Live but I've had to avoid so many parts of the fandom like the plague. Bright side, there's still some very wholesome communities and people who just like the voice actresses and characters without being creepy about it
A great UA-camr, The RPG Monger, did a somewhat similar series, where he shared horrific tales from various fanbases, but he stopped making those videos years ago. I love your take on this topic!
While it isn't nearly as bad as some older fandoms, I was wondering if you could do a video on a certain side of the COD community. There have been some... "interesting" creators and creations.
Good on him, I don't think RPG Monger could truly handle it for any longer lest he would've gone on a mental breakdown leading to self-harm possibly. FoxAkimbo meanwhile has been used to this stuff, so he could potentially go through a fair bit of it without going on a mental breakdown.

I never thought Sydsnap had her "German Angry Gamer boy" moment. Which was when the German Boy pretended to be a raging gamer to mock the gaming culture, but his acting is too good that it had been taken out of context by Conservative media at the time, further inflamed by Internet Trolls due to his meme potential, that the German boy got bullied and harassed by the Greater internet.
It is good to say the boy now grown up into a buff man who came to terms with his past. And those who mocked him in retrospect, now seem like major assholes.

Hey, if you truly miss it then try doing those things again. It might not be the same intensity or obsession that you felt back then, but maybe as an adult you can find a healthier way to enjoy it. Don't make it your whole personality of course but also dont let stereotypes or however cringe you felt you were stop you from healthily enjoying the things you used to obsess over before. Find yourself again from the beginning, find whatever it is that brings you happiness and inspiration to keep going and find more things to fulfill you

Why can't people have fun like this anymore? Being allowed to be weird in weirdo spaces (without being a dick) is necessary, but I guess that it's easier to make fun of people who can have fun in unorthodox ways.
Because until some years ago it wasn't so publicly publicized as it is nowadays with/on social media, simple as that.
People were still bullied and hated for liking or having fun with anything anime related. Things are actually a lot better now than they were a decade ago.

i've been a huge love live fan since around 2017-18 and i can confirm that a pretty taboo amount of fans (mostly from japan) are very thirsty for the girls, especially given that lot of japanese love live twitter or pixiv artists draw them suggestively so it's somewhat difficult to avoid the nsfw side of the community :')
i can say that not everyone in the love live community is bad though so i'd like to apologise in behalf of the community. i can assure you not all of us are terrible. nonetheless, thank you for the amazing video 🙏

As Japanese woman living in the United States married to an Ex-military man who is of African/Japanese heritage i never had problems with these weirdos until we started living in the USA.
i’m a pediatrician and i was working at the University Hospital and had to deal with these really scary weirdos on a daily basis. One time a 20 something college student had a weird obsession
with and it started innocently but turned into bringing my husband into the situation.
My husband is a co-owner of a veteran owned and operated private security firm in town with 100s working with the security company. The 20 something finally went over the line and tried to SA me in my office. Of course he did this during lunchtime and he didn’t notice my muscular angry husband to the side of him. My husband put him on the ground and handcuffed him quickly! I admit i am still impressed how quickly my husband detains someone like this.
Both me and my husband are old school anime/manga fans but we don’t take it too seriously.
We have children for cry sake.

(3) Love Live I had heard many good things about but never heard about about these cases kind of crazy.

(5) Crazy how people always point to videogames (and in this case anime) while things like this has happened way before any of those even exist.

Back in the day, I hated other anime fans for being so loud and energetic.
About that first post. As both a starting historian and anime fan, these weebs make me want to scream into the abyss.Japan has a long and fascinating history. Anime can be a good tool to teach, but all the denial of war crimes and the refusal to believe that cultures can change is top tier cringe. Every country and culture has their skeletons in the closet. Just ask any WW2 veteran or historian about what the Japanese were up to then, especially in China, and the answers will be horrifying. I don't recommend looking it up if you have a weak stomach. However, history must be learned and understood to not be repeated.
