Nice react Nomee! A lot of people think the same about Rush's logo, they mistake it for a pentagram, but the symbol represents The Starman against the masses! A clear representation of freedom!

These guys were local boys where I live. The late Neil Peart (RIP) was quite possibly the best rock drummer ever.

And to think the greatest drummer ever came from right here in The Hammer! Not to mention his lyrics. These guys are amazing and local for me as well.

Ok. I'm skeptical of most "first time" reaction videos but I buy this one.

Good afternoon, and welcome to the Rush Rabbit Hole; we hope you enjoy your stay! In addition to Neil, other members include Geddy Lee on lead vocals, bass guitar, and keyboards; and Alex Lifeson, one of the most underrated guitarists ever, on lead guitar. If you'd like to see some really lit performances, here are a few suggestions:
    YYZ Live In Rio
    Xanadu, Exit Stage Left
    Freewill, Exit Stage Left
Natural Science, Toronto Molson Amphitheater (1997)
Best Intro Ever/The Spirit Of Radio, R30 Tour
    Animate, R30 Tour
Working Man Live In Cleveland, Time Machine Tour
    🎤 🎹 🎸 🥁 🎸 🐐 🐐 🐐

Welcome to Rush. A 3 piece orchestra feast to the ears. Yes the drummer Neil Peart is lit and known as The Professor. He was primary lyricist and a published writer. And as you see his playing is lit indeed. And they have many many great songs

Further examining the symbol, it depicts a naked man, a potent metaphor for uninhibited expression, boldly standing against the emblem of malevolence-the pentagram. The overarching theme conveys an individual's resolve to resist the forces of evil that aim to suppress one's uniqueness, particularly in creative pursuits. This was a sentiment acutely familiar to Rush when they were composing 2112. They perceived this album as potentially their final record, confronted by the risk of expulsion if they failed to conform to the demand for more commercially appealing melodies.

That is not a pentagram. That is the Starman against the establishment. If you react to their song 2112 you will see where it comes from.
As for spirit, the song is about a free spirit, an individual who thinks for himself. One who follows his own path
I suggest Spirit of Radio from Sarstock Toronto
Red Barchetta from Exit Stage Left
Digital Man from the Snakes and Arrows tour
    Cheers 🇨🇦

Love your reaction , the symbol on the drum was not a pentagram, it’s actually represents a totalitarian government and the man in the centre is resistance to that government. It’s from the album 2112 , so not pagan or religious. You may want to react to that album song next.

  • @motodork

That’s not a pentagram. It’s the “star man” logo from their 2112 album. Nothing sinister about it.

Google Tom Sawyer by American author Mark Twain, see what the theme of that book was, then read the lyrics. You’ll have a much better understanding of the song.

Considering your culture I can understand the confusion. In Africa witchcraft is common. It was a symbol of oppression, the star that the nude man is REJECTING, if you look real close. They are men of reality. The spirit they encourage all to catch is not a religious one but an impelling one of the heart full of blunt honesty. The drummer encouraged a unbending but peaceful rejection of blind conformity. It is something a man from Canada adheres to.

That "diagram" is not satanic. An upside down red star might be, but it's a direct reference to the Rush 2112 album from 1976. Yeah, you're a youngster; no offense. You don't know. It's mostly Neil Peart's semi-sorta adoption of Ayn Rand's anti-communist predilection.

Not all Stars are satanic nor are all Spirits evil. Church hated competition.
