Original Video:https: • Rush - Tom Sawyer
Ladies just imagine going to their outdoor concert and seeing the show live A rock concert in person is mind blowing
The greatest drummer since Buddy Rich and John Bonham. But even better because of his song writing. Rest in peace, Neal.
John Bonham was an overrated woodchopper, by the way.
Three master musicians from Canada. Nineteen studio albums over nearly 40 years. Cheers!
Two gorgeous ladies reacting to three extraordinary musicians. I like that.
The above commenter is decidedly not wrong!
Thanks ladies, I could tell you never heard this song before because you paused it just before the Peart drum smashes which are incredible :)
Pride of Canada .. we miss you Neil!
A legendary masterpiece from my high school years. Great reaction!
Go with The Spirit of Radio or Subdivisions next
Best band to ever come out of Canada. You two are beautiful...
Try the song Xanadu from the Exit Stage Left concert next. !!!!!
Man that Drummer....OMG!
You two just had a musical experience. Rush was 3 guys, Alex Lifeson - Guitar, Geddy Lee - Vocals, Bass guitar, Keyboards & Synths, and Neil Peart (pronounced like 'ear') - Drums & Percussion. All three are considered masters of their instruments. Sadly, we lost Neil a few years ago.
If you want more Rush, they have quite a large catalogue of music from 40+ years of recording & touring. Check out 'The Spirit of Radio', 'Limelight', 'Closer to the Heart', 'Xanadu', and 'Natural Science' if you want to hear more. Those are just the tip of the iceberg.
The three year anniversary of Neil Peart's death is this month. Though he was not family or a personal friend, the quality of his musicianship, philosophy, poetry, and humanity causes me to mourn him as though he was. He was lauded for his prodigious talent as a member of Rush, but he should be most remembered for his prodigious humanity. RIP.
When they were inducted into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame in 2013, Tom Sawyer and Spirit of radio, where the two songs they played……. Rush is a huge rabbit hole, a working band for over 4+ decades.
I love seeing people hear Rush for the first time. I have been a fan for longer than I am comfortable admitting lol, and it's cool to know that their music will live on in the coming generations
Welcome to the magic of Rush.
If I might make bold, I would recommend some of the following Rush songs as a representative sample:
YYZ - an outstanding instrumental song that will have you wondering if you're sure they're a trio;
Red Sector A - based on stories told by the mother of the bassist/vocalist/keyboard-player's mother about surviving the Holocaust;
Fly By Night - The drummer/lyricist's first song for the band, describing his leaving home to seek his fortune;
Workin' Them Angels - about how to thrive while riding on the ragged edge of disaster;
The Garden - the last song on their last album
Other great band from Ontario Canada is Motion Device. You will love them. A all family band doing it on their own, No label
Tom Sawyer is the name of the song ! 🇨🇦
The name of the Canadian three man band is 'Rush' !
RUSH is the band. Tom Sawyer is the song. More than 160 others to listen to
Nice! Hello from Brasil! From Rush I also recommend the live videos of "Xanadu", "Red Barchetta" and "Frewill (the instrumental part is CRAZY!!!)" from the show "Exit: Stage Left". And also the official video for "Subdivisions ! Oh, and the live version of "YYZ" from the show "Rush in Rio"!
Check out Rush - YYZ Live in Rio
That performance has quite simply the absolutely most bats hit insane audience reaction I've ever seen. I mean... 50,000 people singing along to _an instrumental_?! Are you kidding me?! Crazypants. Great song, too.
RIP Neil Peart, your favorite drummers favorite drummer, he wrote the lyrics as well, go check out his drum solo from 2004 in Germany, it's beyond amazing...Ok well you've gone down quite the rabbit hole here, everyone will give you suggestions but try "Limelight" then "Subdivisions" "Free Will" "Closer To The Heart" and maybe the BEST song they did "The Spirit of Radio"
Nice intro to Rush, when ready to jump into the deep end, do the 2112 suite, a Great musical journey and experience. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Congratulations on discovering Rush! You should give a listen to "Limelight" or if you want to hear one of their great instrumentals you should try "YYZ" or "La Villa Strangiato".
"The Spirit Of Radio" should be your next Rush song. Or "FREEWILL"
Indeed excellent choice 😁👌
RIP Professor.
Ghost of the chance one of his best songs written!
Time for some live Rush ! Try the song Natural Science from the Molsen Amphitheater concert ! Saw Rush 18 times!
Tom Sawyer is the song by Rush. In case you didn't otice, the singer, bassist and keyboardist are all one guy.
You ladies are very beautiful, please watch Xanadu live, it will blow you away to another time & space in the universe ✨️ 😄 yall will love it
Great choice to start, theres so much to listen too from this band of 3... you wont find musicians like we had growing up.. todays music is repetitive cookie cutter garbage
Tom Sawyer one of the greatest rock songs nice reaction happy new year & y'all are beautiful where y'all from?
Le Studio in Morin Heights, this is where it was recorded. BTW Tom Sawyer is the song, Rush is the group.
Awesome....thanks so much. Todd from Ohio...
Recomend this band
Dream Theater - A Rite Of Passage/Constant Motion/Illumination Theory (live in Boston)/Octavarium (live)
RUSH!
Glad y'all are stepping deeper into Masterclass Musician's. Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are two more. Many to list though.
I've been a fan of Rush since the beginning although I never saw them live. One question to anyone who can answer...Do the washer/dryers the band has going onstage at almost every live performance contribute to their unique sound? Are they the "backup" instruments?...Ok, two questions. 😜😁❤
I saw them once, during the "Show of Hands" era. Worcester Centrum, MA. No washers. No backup performers. I don't remember much of a stage show back then except for the lasers and on-point performance.
With the Washers I think that's the same tour that Rush Army says roadies or someone was giving the band toy dinosaurs as a gag--seeing how old they are and still touring. They ended up bringing a bunch of them on stage or on top of the washer. You should be able to see a few if you look!
The various items (washer/dryer, rotisserie complete with chickens that a stagehand would baste during the show, etc) started off when Alex Lifeson had these huge Marshall stacks behind him, and Geddy Lee felt that the stage was unbalanced. So he started putting things on his side, often chosen with the intent of making Alex and Neil laugh. (I'm told that in the shows with the mini laundromat, at the end of the show they took T-shirts out of the dryers and threw them into the crowd.)
New sub. One of my favorite bands and song.
Wonderful reaction ladies! Good journey :) Peace!
The band is actually called Rush The song is called Tom Sawyer lol
REO SPEEDWAGON
GOLDEN COUNTRY.
The message is as relevant today as it was in 72
Glad you liked them. I agree with others here. "Spirit of Radio" is a fun masterpiece. It was written as a tribute to all the radio stations and DJs that supported them despite Rush not writing particularly "radio-friendly" rock songs.
Also note--lyrically, Rush doesn't write typical "party" or "love" songs. Usually a little deeper, more introspective, or analytical, IMO.
Molto bene grazie frufru----
Neil Peart, GOAT!!!
FYI , the band is called RUSH !
Yes people actually play instruments not just canned music with auto tine
I am so glad you liked the song. That is so pretty pretty nice. If you are Americans could you answer a question for the world: how do you fill a country with millions of people with the average intelligence of turtles?
Try Working Man Live In Cleveland; the instrumental section is unlike anything you've ever seen and may ever see again!
🎤 🎹 🎸 🥁 🎸 🔥 🔥 🔥
You need to play some decuts Tom Sawyer everybody plays it. Everybody knows it play some deep cut of rushspirit
