Neil Peart may not be your favourite drummer, but he's probably your favourite drummer's favourite drummer.
NICE!
He absolutely is my favorite percussionist
Laughed at this on a different reaction
The drummer is Neil Peart who died this year. Geddy Lee is the vocalist, bassist and keyboardist of the band, while Alex Lifeson is the guitarist.
And they are all Canadian boys
This was the first song I heard by Rush back in 1981-1982. I have been a fan ever since.
There are just 3 guys in this band!!! Talk about talent!!! Lyrics are just as amazing as the music!!!
Such profoundly deep and introspective song. WOW. I found this:
“The lyrics are "a portrait of a modern-day rebel, a free-spirited individualist striding through the world wide-eyed and purposeful." Whether a lawyer or a 12-year-old boy, Tom Sawyer proved to be an everlasting, defiant figure.”
They are modest and humble, so talented and smart. The fans love them. Listen more, you will not be disappointed:
- Xanada, Exit Stage Left
- 2112, studio album 2112, and than with the storytelling showing you the story
- Spirit of Radio, Studio version
- Working Man - Live in Cleveland
- YYZ, studio version so tight!
- YYZ, live in Rio, so rough!
- Marathon from Power Windows
and many many more. Who did 19 studio albums?
Drummer Man is the legendary Neil Peart (Pee-ert) who wrote most of the songs lyrics as well, sadly he just died last year. Canadian legends, all of them.
Uhhhh, he died back in January. R I P
Holy shit they made a mistake.... ban the from Facebook for life
1980 I was on a school field trip , at Bird Road Park and I was listening to this album on a cassette.
Boris Vasilievich I bet you were listening to Permanent Waves, which was released in January of 1980. Moving Pictures didn’t come out until February of 1981.
@@susanmaggiora4800 then it was in 1981.
The most talented rock group ever! I still think they're aliens... no humans can play like this.
Rush. 🇨🇦🔥
This is a rabbit hole of immense depth. Fall in.
Drummer man is Neil Peart. RIP. The Professor. Your favourite drummer’s favourite drummer.
Spirit of Radio
YYZ live in Rio
Working Man live in Cleveland
Xanadu
2112
Subdivisions
La Villa Strangiatta
Limelight
The list is... substantial.
It’s amazing that there was only 3 of them, making that music!!!
You might enjoy Spirit of the Radio by Rush.
GREAT track! But I'm mystified as to why so MANY call it Spirit of THE Radio - not just you, by any means. It's "Spirit of Radio" (no 'the').
@@Pixelologist there actually is a THE but not before Radio its at the beginning - The Spirit Of Radio -
YYZ (live in Rio)
Spirit of radio 🎸🎸
That's how I stayed when I listened to that band in 1981. And since then I've been a fan. Greetings from Spain.
Next....YYZ Live in Rio!!
It just all blends together..they were just so fluid in how they transition.. That is what separated them.
Rush is best appreciated live. Xanadu from the Exit Stage Left concert will blow your socks off.
The best trio band of all time SUBDIVISIONS is great so ng by rush. Highly recommended to react to.
I just love Rush !
Hugs from Brazil >>>>
New subscriber for more Rush reactions. JT, you just experienced the most talented 3 man band in rock history, and arguably the greatest drummer ever: The Professor - Neil Peart (pronounced Peer-t) RIP Professor 01/07/2020. Please react to Xanadu Exit Stage Left. It's a life concert video form 1981. MAGIC!
JT I loved your reaction. I love this song and the fact that three people can make it sound like five people it’s just amazing to me. Rush is amazing band.❤️😀👍✌️🌼Love and peace
The best drummer in the world R.I.P.
RIP Neil... Missing these guys for sure... Luckily, their discography is pretty deep. And for me, I don't ever get sick of their music. No more concerts sucks though...
Just three of them. That's all. And they do it all. Live. They're the best.
RUSH is just the best ever! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂

For years, when I tried turning some of my White brothers onto Rush who were into rock, quite a number of them said that they hate Geddy's voice and wouldn't get into Rush because of it.
I thought to myself, every time I heard that that these peeps didn't realize the good music they were missing out on by hating his voice.
😥
I love that you loved Geddys voice, back in the day when this song came out . The music critics hated big time on his voice and their music. I'm so happy to see more and more younger gen reactions loving Rush music and vocals.
In the era of geek chic these guys rule. It's a shame it took until the end of their career for them to really resonate on that kind of scale.
Glad you got around to the GOAT drummer after listening to the GOAT guitarist! Neil Peart and SRV 🔥
I'm glad you have been introduced to Rush. They have an impressive catalogue.
That's 3 guys making all that racket. "The Spirit of Radio" and "Working Man (Live in Cleveland)" will blow you away.
This is how I felt when I first heard this song in high school. Welcome to the club!! ❤️
Neil Peart was the best rock drummer of the era.
One Guitar, One Bass/singer/keyboardist, One Drummer. 3 guy band.
Drummers want to be metronomes. Metronomes want to be Neil Peart.
Great comment!
Facts
1981. Fishing with my uncle. Pontiac Lake Michigan. Dude gave me an appreciation for music that day, we listened to this over and over. 😎
Check out "Working Man Time Machine Tour live in Cleveland", "YYZ live in Rio" and "Neil Peart's drum solo live in Frankfurt".
Welcome to the party, sister! SO much brilliant music in the Rush catalogue!
Honestly, best thing to do is go to Walmart, find a copy of "Exit Stage Left" in the $5 CD bin, take that rascal home, slap it in the stereo, put the headphones on, and just lose yourself! Gonna warn you now - That live version of "Xanadu" is gonna getcha! It's a ride!
After that, look up "New World Man" and especially "Subdivisions"! And pay attention to the lyrics! "Presto" is a great track too!
For starters...
The « pretty place » was the famous Le Studio in Morin’s Heights Qc, near my hometown of Montreal.
Sadly it has since fallen into disrepair🥺
YYZ live in Rio!!!!!!!!!!! Crowd is insane!!!!!!!
Another Rush song I think you would like is Dreamline
React to Rush - Red Sector A .. a song about Holocaust .. Geddy Lee( lead singer ) parents was survive to holocaust ..
"Limelight" is their best song, IMHO, check out the video/song. Thanks!!
It's hard not to like this song or at least find it interesting. This goes back to 1976, I was 21 at the time. This song was on the radio all the time and was really popular. "Limelight" and "Subdivisions" are also excellent songs by them that were very popular. I enjoyed your reaction, have a great day!
I'm loving your Rush reaction video!
The Rush rabbit hole goes deep........
Oh Oo. Check it out!
There is a guitar, a base guitar, drums and keyboard with lyrics....but there are only 3 guys.
you deserve more subs! reacts are great!
All 3 are virtuosos on their instruments greatest band of all time lol lyrically and musically try red barchette, YYZ, witch hunt half the world, driven ,big money far cry hemispheres, mission, marathon, trees, any rush is good rush
Keep going down the Rush rabbit hole :).
When you're ready to rock really hard, react to their song, "Working Man," and PA-Leez do the album track, and not the live one. In the live version, they mix it in with other songs. The way it's done doesn't sound bad, but it waters down the hard rock flavor of, "Working Man."
She started with Working Man if you haven't seen it yet. Studio version also. 😁
More Rush!!!! You won’t regret!!!!
A little education for you, to get to know the band a little better. First off, this song's video was recorded while they were in the studio recording for this album's release. It was done in several tracks (of course) and it was filmed the same way. I think you are aware there are only 3 guys in the band. Geddy Lee plays bass, keyboards and foot pedals AND sings. Alex Lifeson plays guitar and foot pedals as well and also sings a little here and there. Then there is The Professor on the drums, widely considered one of the best ever. So while it appears there are more people playing on this song, it's just the three of them doing different tracks for the album recording.
One of the things that people say when they are not a big fan of Rush is they don't like Geddy's voice. Those of us who LOVE Rush either don't mind his voice, or they like it, OR there are people like me. I like it but I also view the vocals as another instrument within the music and he fits in nicely with their music. Regarding the band members' talent, they are the tops in their respective field. Each one of them belongs in the Hall Of Fame for their instrument and are widely claimed as influences for many of today's great bands and musicians.
I noticed you had your eyes closed the majority of this video LOL...I know it's tough when you're getting into the music, but if you can keep your eyes open and watch the video you will be even MORE amazed LOL! Great reaction...I would suggest Freewill next, thanks!!
Give "Kid Gloves" a shot from the album Grace Under Pressure. Seems a lost tune that I like a lot.
Good choice.. and to timely right now.. ua-cam.com/video/TA0nyFR8krU/v-deo.html
Rush is an unbelievable band that played live in concert as well or better than in studio. Check out Xanadu from the Exit Stage Left concert. Other great Rush songs: Closer To The Heart, The Trees, Red Barchetta, and Farewell To Kings. I'm here all day for Rush reactions.
That's how the white boys do it. One of the greatest bands of all time nuff said.

YYZ live in Rio is a monster song. That and I see you reviewed Working Man.... but you have to see it live in Cleveland... try to hold onto something solid.
1:39 is missing the entry of James Bond
Did you like how they slide in and out of those time signatures?!? I smiled when I was watching you try to groove on the beat and then they go and switch it up on you 😉
Would love you to react to Heart..greatest sister band ever.. name of the song is Alone. Official video is awesome!
3 legends playing all that not 5 not 6 only 3
I looked back a your videos and didn't see Ted Nugent - Stranglehold. That song kicks more ass than Mike Tyson.
Rather see the reaction to reading Huckleberry Finn.
