Welcome to the Rush Rabbit Hole. so many great songs over a 40 year career. Lyrically, speaking to everyone. Musically, speaking to everyone. 3 men, doing the unthinkable all at the same time. Geddy Lee's voice and ability to play the bass guitar, keyboards, pedals, and sing all at the same time is unparalleled. Alex Lifeson's guitar is so underrated by everyone but seems to just put the right solo for each song. Neil Peart's lyrics and drumming is unmatched. The professor, as he has been called, is your favorite drummer's favorite drummer. Seeing them live as even more spectacular. RIP Neil you will be missed. great reaction and wait till you really delve deep into them.
RUSH - YYZ live in Rio is the bomb brother
Agreed. Be sure it's the "Live in Rio" version or your subscribers will tell you that you reacted to the wrong version.
RUSH is a Canadian band that formed in 1968. The drummer in this video, Neil Peart, replaced the original drummer in 1974 and the same 3 members comprised the band for the next 40 years until they ended in 2016. RUSH has a huge catalogue and scores of great songs to enjoy. 🏆🏆🏆
Geddy lee sings plays bass, synthesized bass pedals and keyboards and can do three of those things all at one time nobody else does this. The legends that we call RUSH are the greatest power trio in history have fun and enjoy, the rabbit hole is extremely deep.
YYZ, spirit of the radio, 2112 are also three excellent songs which I recommend live versions . RIP Neil Peart the drummer known as the professor. He was the lyricist and those lyrics are brilliant. Pay attention to those. Three extremely talented guys making beautiful art…they are best of friends since childhood as well. 🔥🔥🙌🏻🎶❤️
Happy to see you had the lyrics as they are just as important as the music itself. Three guys created this and what is even more astonishing is that they play even better live. The thinking man's band as its been said before. Natural Science is a must. Thanks for upload.
Great way to start. Keep watching. Live is best
Three guys that sound like 20. Their sound was unmistakable.
Some serious technical skills on display. So frickin good.
Damn....that DRUMMER!
🤗 They are DEFINITELY different! 🥰🐰
Not sure what your musical references are but you should try one from every Rush era to see which area you like the best. Next try working man live from Cleveland then try free will, then I would suggest mission, then test for echo, driven, far cry, and headlong flight this can narrow down which era in 40 years you prefer
Big Money from RUSH
The album version, or the official video of 2112 is a must listen in the Rush catalog. The video with the storyboard will give you what you need.....
Check out Neil Peart's solo in Frankfurt.... otherwordly
🇨🇦
He knows changes aren't permanent.. but change is
You should definitely check out the spirit of radio, limelight, closer to the heart, free will,...
My friend , you have to watch ,rush ,xanadu ,live, ..1981!
Neil Peart, RIP, is the GOAT, your favorite drummers favorite drummer and he wrote all the lyrics, Geddy Lee uses a special foot pedal to play bass and keyboards at once....Alex Lifeson is a highly underrated guitarist....well there's a lot but here goes...Limelight...Subdivisions...Freewill...Closer to the Heart....2112....The Spirit Of Radio....just a small sample but you MUST check out, from 2004, Neil Peart drum solo.
I think The Spirit of Radio should be your next reaction. I think you will enjoy it and thus propel you down the rabbit hole of greatness.
Try “ Spirit of Radio “ nexr……great reaction
Will be up tomorrow..stay tuned for that
Ok...you did it. How can you not go deeper down the RUSH rabbit hole now?.😜 Try Freewill, The Trees, Xanadu Live, Red Barchetta, YYZ Live in Rio, Jacobs Ladder, sooo many more
Limelight, official music video; Xanadu, Exit Stage Left; Working Man Live In Cleveland, Time Machine Tour - fasten your seatbelt!!
🎤 🎹 🎸 🥁 🎸 🔥 🔥 🔥
Welcome to Rush! Best three piece you will here. Good ear on catching the different time signatures. 😁 The song Tom Sawyer is basically about a "modern day warrior" . He doesn't conform to anything or anyone. 😉 You really cannot go wrong with any Rush. I would maybe recommend The Spirit of Radio next. Live or official video. You will find that watching them live is pretty amazing, but it will also distract from the music, lol. Lyrics are also almost always good to have pulled up as they tend to have something to say worth hearing. YYZ live in Rio is also a great next step in listening to Rush.
…and if you have ANY doubt about their musicianship, watch the live version from 1981’s Exit Stage Left video release and they play it nearly spot on note perfect there, when they toured in support of its initial release. Just three guys reproducing multitrack layered recordings’LIVE’ like it’s no big deal, just another day at the office.🤘🖖✌️🥁🎸🎤🎹
Great reaction and commentary!! You will enjoy Rush...they are definitely a thinking man's band, not to mention that they were the best 3-piece band...ever!! They have a catalog that spans over 40 years. But...if you enjoyed Tom Sawyer, then you might like Vital Signs. You could also do a full album reaction of Moving Pictures...Both Tom Sawyer and Vital Signs are on this album. Check it out...and see what you think.
The Spirit of Radio probably turned more people on to Rush than any other song. Limelight is another high mark before you delve deeper. You could describe them as progressive power pop.
You are hearing the GREATEST DRUMMER OF ALL TIME !!!!
