We've Never Done THIS Before

- We got a call from someone that said there Toyota was floating away down the Green River. They weren't sure if or when it would stop and they need help. So we quickly loaded up with Ol Blue and the LJ, we grabbed the jetski not knowing if we would have to go downstream aways to even find the vehicle. We were about halfway there when the customer called back and said it was just around the corner and had stopped. When we got there we scouted out a place to get the wrecker to. Then Mike and I took the jeski out to get winch extensions hooked up. Unfortunately the battery died on the jetski, so that was a wasted effort. We couldn't get hooked up to the frame or a wheel. So we went through the windows and around the windshield frame. We started winching and it came off the rock it had got stuck on so that was good. We winched it up steam u til we had enough extensions to reach it from the boat ramp/beach. Then we pulled it with the jeep. I apologize for the batteries dying on the Gopros but it was difficult to swim back, get a battery and swim back out. So is what it is. Once we had it back on dry ground we pulled it up to level ground with Ol Blue. Then we picked it up and hauled it out to the highway. This one was crazy and done with urgency. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

You know your shit when 911 says we can't help you call Rory. Priceless
Somebody frame that and make some wall art for the crew!
for everything else, there's MC.
Dispatch was like "Call Rory, he takes all the sketchy jobs everyone else declines."
TrailMater: We'll keep the light on for ya'
911 Is NOT a tow service Dumb Ass
Heavy D would need 15 guys and a million dollars worth of equipment to do that. 😂
Team Trailmater rocks!!!
Don't forget the fundraiser too
Love heavy d but your probably right
HeavyD's problem is that there aren't enough jobs that actually need all his crazy heavy equipment, but it costs almost as much to have it sitting in the yard as it does to put it to work on overkill jobs.
Plus a part 2 also how tough the logistics are and 20 or 30 reminders on what is happening.
Let's not forget his fake ads about using different products that take half his video time.
Lol- Shawn quite the native tracker "We must be getting closer, there's water on the road."
LMAO- that's some fine native guidance right there......
Being a scuba diver I know what it’s like to fight a current. You had a plan, you considered safety measures then you initiated your plan, adapted it as needed in in true Rory fashion you completed the job. Can’t ask for more. Glad you safe. Love the channel
safety is a factor
That could have been worse. I've done underwater body recoveries in current just like that (in Jackson, Wyoming).
Mike is so humble. He asks what you need and clarifies things with no ego.
Leggo my Eggo
Thanks!
He is great at communication. Also, very stoic.
I mean, "in the middle of the freaking river" is technically off road! Could have used Mike's boat for this one. What a recovery!
Just boarded up here in florida waiting on the hurricane came inside and watched trailmater men do there thing. Stay safe everyone
Jennifer, YOU need to stay safe! Milton looks NASTY!!
Hope you don't have to call rory...
Rory this video is why you guys are the best at what you do. You did a recovery that you have never done and even though things didn't go as planned you got the job done no matter what.
I always know with you guys going to do a recovery the job will get done no matter what.
I'm glad they shared their story, all the way through I kept wondering, how in the world did that vehicle get there, the part where 911 said to call you guys made it even better.
THAT WAS INSANE. YOU ALL DESERVE A HUGE RAISE, BONUS AND MORE!!
Mike has my repect. Man is fearless. 💯
it is a consequence of a diet high in cheese and other dairy products from his days in Wisconsin
Big fan of Mike
when they say "off road , recoveries" , it literally was, awesome guy's, well done !
That was one of the sketchiest and scariest recoveries I've ever seen you guys do. You did it with great skill and accomplished it. But man that current! And that mountain snow melt water is cold! Holy smokes, I was riveted to the screen. That could have gone wrong in so anyways. You guys did a great job!
That’s truly an off-road recovery. Can’t wait for the mods to the jet skis with a winch boom and trail mater rope use
Scrolled through to see if someone was on the same vibe. Mad Max of the river
The customer is happy the crew is happy. You won the day! I think she happy because she's getting a new car either way. 400k miles it was a good pig.
maybe she will donate to the channel for the next big build?
What a recovery.. y'all Rock
'nuff clownin' here in comment land. . . I gotta go watch the rest of this recovery.
Really glad to see the life jackets. That’s the most hazardous thing I’ve watched you do.
@@vikingranch6377 yup, to me, drowning would be the worst way to go. Anything to do with suffocating. Avalanches and fires do the same thing. No different then drowning. They steal the air.
It's hilarious that they still had a fun day on the river, even knowing their ride went for a swim. 😂
Great job on not letting something you can't do anything about 'right now' spoil your fun. 😊
I did a bunch of years of ocean and swift water rescue/recovery work. Doesn’t look like much to some people, but this was the 1st off-road rescue from you or any one else that ever made me pucker up a certain part of my anatomy. Cars in rivers are especially dangerous with the risk of getting suctioned underneath. Great work moving slowly and communicating.
I have been meaning to say this for some time.
Can't remember the editors name, but, good job.
The bright green logo/words for all the intro's is top notch.
It attracts people to watch the videos;
But more importantly shows, who is team Trailmater.
You are mastering all levels of river recovery Rory😊. Super awesome!
You guys are a he'll of a team to put your selves in such a place I think you need to get some newer jets skis or more help next time. That's a lot of work and stress but you all are super men for doing this.
Just when you think you have seen it all, something very surprising happens. What a Great Crew and another great Job!
There isn’t anything you guys will not do! Great team work getting it out and the best part is everyone came home safe and those young ladies were very grateful! 🍻
That's an amazing water recovery that challenged your creativity and ingenuity... congratulations on your successful first vehicle recovery out of a river.
OMG Thank you for capturing what you could!! That can't be easy working against the current and trying to film!! GREAT JOB!
Nothing but respect Rory. I've done many a boat recovery and any time you have rope and moving water you gotta be on your toes. I won't lie there were a couple sketchy parts but y'all made sure to make safe decisions and get it done! Life jackets make everything better.
Trailmater Marine Division.... Didn't see that coming :D
😂😂😂 “Should be as deep as the car is.” Truer words have never been spoken.
Thunderbirds are go! (probably a bit of a niche, UK centric comment) Rory has all the right machines for any rescue 🙂
Did you know that's on Sunday morning on TV . ( Regular TV ) MeTV
Always anticipating your rescues 💚❣️ Thanks gentleman.
And now for something completely different....is there nothing that Rory, Mike and Shaun can't do?? You guys have redefined the word "comptent"....Bravo👏👏👏
Fantastic recovery! Love the fact that you guys are for real. Thanks for posting.
That was a good recovery. Adapt, improvise, overcome. No dramas, just gettin' it done.
Great job. Current is no joke, glad you made it out safely. No one better than this team to think on the fly and adapt to get the job done.
I'm glad no one played 'submarine' on this one. Like Rory said, "there's a heater in the truck". Ahh, such comforts. Nice video.
THIS, is too fun! Mighty Mike for the win. What can't he do? Oh, and Rory is no slouch either.
And Shawn: Steady support, silliness when appropriate and never wave-ering.
Sketchy boys, very sketchy recovery. Thanks for sharing!
This has got to be in your top ten recoveries for insane jobs, awesome job guys.🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
This is taking Off-Road Recovery to a whole nother level!
Adapting and overcoming on the fly...Rory, Mike and Shaun, you guys rock..huge respect gentleman...
never knew you did marine recoveries !
possibly a salvage
Not only do you guys kick major a$$, you guys are doing God's work out there.
Rory, Shawn and Mike, true American heroes!!!!!
There is something you don’t see everyday!!
Above and beyond on that one!!👍
This recovery is extreme.
That was Awesome. Thanks guys.
Wow incredible recovery ! Thank God you were smart enough not to try to hold your breath and hook up down low and get pinned by the current under the bumper.
Wow..... jetski involved recovery, that's a new one for the team! When y'all have a car wash, you throw all the stops out...... Nice change of pace for ya.
Wow! And I thought repelling for KTMs was impressive.
... Somewhere down the crazy river ... Looks like you need a bigger boat, boys. Fantastic work!
That was one hell of a recovery guys ,,, glad all went well with no casualties ,,,, good job ,,,,👍
Great work Rory and crew!
Listening to the water run was super peaceful- makes me realize we haven't seen big D in a while
Crazy recovery. Lots of things could easily have gone wrong but smart thinking kept all safe.
Wow. Just Wow! Highly impressive recovery! I guess it looked way worse than it was, but it still took some work and ingenuity to get it out. We don't care if the cameras died, as long as you guys were safe. Cool interview with the customers at the end. Well done, Rory, Mike and Shawn!
There is nothing I can say that covers my emotions at the moment other than: Ye gods and little fishes! You are by far the best recovery team out there full stop! From UK.
That current is no joke.
You can't park there.....
😂😂
Well, you can... but I'd heavily advise against it. 😂
Didn't stop them from parking there.
A ceramic coating would have helped… water doesn’t stick to that shit.
@@WooooptywoopRobby Layton has a discount on that I think 😂
Trailmater Marine Division called in. 20-year-old Toyota with 400K on the clock and then drown for a day, "It was pretty much done," according to the boss. Really!
This was an amazing recovery of the Toyota from the Green River! The river was running fast and that made it tough for Mike to pull the winch rope up to Shawn so he can winch the car out. Great job to the Trail Mater Team getting this recovery done!
Wow! Great job guys! You’re the BEST!
Well now THAT was different. I'm glad that everything went alright for you (except for the cameras). That's quite the endorsement for you from 911. Thanks for the video.
Rory and Mike are the bomb.
Great job again.
That's. New side of Rory's team so capable not matter where great video thanks
The big one that did not get away. Great job guys!
What a mess. Great recovery.
Vibes are off the charts. It’s funny cause there in the water and kinda out of the typical TM element. And it’s so zen cause the zen water 😂
Had me worried there Mike, when you were at the front of the vehicle. Being pinned underwater is how kayakers die.
Mind how you go.
Fine job gentlemen, thanks for the video 👋
Wow that was a tough recovery. Props guys, awesome job.
That was a unique & gargantuan recovery effort. Amazing and remarkable. The legend grows,!
Wow, what a terrible situation. But, another great job. You guys really work well together.
As usual, great recovery guys! There’s never a dull moment around there for you guys! Good on ya!
Yeesh that looked like a real pain of a job. Good job keeping your cool.
Great rescue. Thanks from 🇨🇦
Amazing recovery even with the jetski failure
What a great show, we done you guys, making the best of what life gives you guys.
The 2 of you on that jet ski was very funny I thought you would tow with it. Ha
Keep up the great work
Ahoy mateys! 🚢🇺🇸 I’m sitting here bored out of my skull and what pops up? Trail Mater Crew! Thanks! 👍🏼👍🏼
Great recovery, glad that you guys are safe. 😊😊😊😊
This one was super refreshing.
This was awesome recovery of all the ones if you guys that have a camera issues with It was this one what a disappointment It was so cool looking lol Time to get some new batteries and Cameras Rory
That water is moving pretty swift.
Great video guys...
Damn, I didn't realize that you three were 'rabid' fishermen! Awesome rescue despite being under prepared, but you got it done! Way to go guys!
You have done some tough recoveries, but I think this rates close to the top. Fighting the current must have been draining. You thought it through & adapted as needed & kept as safe as you could. A nice pat on the back when dispatch says call Rory. Thanks for sharing
I would definitely love to come work for you guys lol you guys are awesome
18:04 That moment an anchor would of been a game ganging idea before hand. LMAO looks fun
This proves it... you guys are crazy. Great video!
Camped right there May 2 years ago at record flows and water level completely filled that boat launch, no ramp. Made for a fast and low effort float. Glad you guys survived.
You lot are flipping brilliant. Keep being awesome 🤙
Great video , you had me nervous with as swift as the current was and was worried Mike would be carried away. Your team s amazing with can do spirit unequaled .
What an adventure. You guys never cease to amaze me on what yall can do!
You guys could recuse just about anything.great job as always.
I love how you say to Mike to go straight to the shore. Having grown up in strong currents I knew where that was headed. I am guessing he hit shore 40-50 feet back from the car. But amazed at how you guys just jump right in, from the highest sketchiest places to the water of the river.
I love how he said, "take it straight to the bank." Call Trailmater for a recovery- you can take it straight to the bank.
Good job with all that went wrong, hope there's not another one too soon maintenance on those skis man!!! Great job!!
Wow, this is going to be good 💯
Glad everyone is safe!
Very intense! On the edge of my seat!
Good work guys!! outstanding water recuse mission by a couple of desert boys lool Rory’s face when he realizes he needed to get in the water was great!! I’d be the exact same!!
You guys are awesome. Great job gentlemen.
I watch every video and have the utmost respect for you guys but some of the spots you put yourselves in during this rescue were a lot more dangerous than I think was obvious. I learned a ton about river hazards and how to move safely in moving water at a 2 day swiftwater safety class for rafters and kayakers, I’d recommend looking up who offers those in your area and taking one if you can. Unfortunately, moving water is really unforgiving and a lot of people drown every year from hazards they didn’t know existed. Anyway thanks for wearing PFDs and getting that truck out of the river, and for entertaining us.
