Silent Hill 2 (played on easy level combat difficulty) would actually be ....absolutely fascinating to watch Paul react to. Would be especially curious as to how he would find the acting. Just be sure he plays the original cast version. They'll show up with torches and pitchforks if you don't.
Scott Cohen (Quinlan in the game) actually had a very successful acting career after this. He has been in a lot of stuff. I guess what this is supposed to mean, is that the weapon didn't come from the outside: if you stab someone wearing clothes (like the lady), it can often drive pieces of cloth in, or even simple threads. Instead, the weapon came from the inside. But you guys know this already--especially Noah

Catching Curtis Up would be a cool series of Paul, Daniel, and Guests taking "Curtis" through the classics to see how gaming has evolved from the Point & Click fare.
The fidgets in this remind me a lot of the ones in Noctropolis. That few frames of ping-pong animation that run-reverse-rest-repeat cycle that looks ok at first, but after a few times looks very mechanical.

Remembering back playing Ripper myself was entertaining for the cut scenes but a lot of the puzzles were complex and way different than Sierra or Lucas Arts games. Take2 made another fmv called Black Dahlia which was even more profound in this way. That made it borderline playable for me but again a game with entertaining acting. Maybe Spoony is up for riffing on that one :) looking forward for you to get through this one!

27:57 the moment when it dawns on Noah what the upcoming 1st puzzle is going to be 😆 I recently played through Ripper to be ready for the playthrough. The game`s graphics and animations are very impressive for it`s time. The developer`s seem to have been too proud of their technical achievement though. They`re showing the engine off way too much in making these animations non-skippable. It`s most frustrating in the Tribeca Center 01:30:29 where you have top re-visit your girlfriend several times throughout the game. To get to her from the location`s main entrance you have to perform these actions: forward x2 / look@console / push button / right / forward / right / forward x2 / left / forward x3 / right / forward / left / forward x2 That`s 18 (!!!) actions just to get from Point A to B. And it takes almost 2 minutes every time, which feel like 5. so yeah ... best way to play is with Noah continuing to be your guide, pointing you towards the right locations. Bottom Line: Worth playing through with lots of walkthrough assistance for the FMV scenes and the performances. Despite the painstakingly slow animation/navigation, often times unnecessiraly hard puzzles (which barely give you feedback if you`re on the right track) looking forward to Ripper stream #2 🤗
I'm torn as to whether to watch let's plays for games which I have yet to play myself. I do watch them (and enjoy them), but I try to blank out the puzzle solutions, for when I do eventually play the game. Either way, this is an entertaining let's play. Keep up the good work, lads.
honestly Christopher Walken cannot be bad. It doesnt matter how bad he is. He's also good. It's like watching Tim Curry in Rocky Horror, in the back of your mind you're always impressed.
And just me. BUT! the necklaces all the Cops wear are a Stand in for a Police Badge. at least thats what Think cause no one does a wallet whipout of a Badge or see one in a belt or on a dogtag chain around there neck. So the 1860's Astrean/German Army badge or Gorshet they got a 2 for.
I think spoony is afraid of his own channel at this point... I mean he's willing to do a 7 part on ripper, but REFUSES to upload any type of worthwhile video to his own channel at all.....

I've installed the game just to test the mug puzzle. It was pretty easy, you just have to look for shadows and light reflections.
Noah and Ross are my two favorite guests easy. That and anybody from sierra

I never had trouble with the phantasmagoria 2 opening puzzle. Idk just seemed pretty straight forward. But I couldn’t imagine doing that mug puzzle.
