Great game! Thanks for playing it. Although seriously that was Grace's plan? Lock a known werewolf in a theater box with unsuspecting police officers in a crowded theater?

Yeah, the way spoony solved the chess game in his riff on ripper involved letting the opponent take the pawns so his knights would unfreeze and move

Thank you so much for the channel, the work you're doing is phenomenal and its been so nice to get some much needed love on the FMV genre. Between and gaming steams and the interviews I'm in hog heaven 🥰 and Scott's been one of my favorite actors since I saw the 10th Kingdom as a kid so this was such a treat.

Daniel: he's not saying anything of importance. What's being said is how the ripper murders people. Information that finding a way to defend against drives the rest of the game

For the card moment. To explain in short, the trick is to show you the top card and the bottom card. But in truth you are not showing the top card but the middle card. So each time the Queen was on the top, you just have to follow the top card and you found your Queen. It's just a level 1 card manipulation trick that most crook know to do.

Hey Paul, if you feel like you need a leg up during the last stretch of this game, don't forget there's an easy mode you can toggle on and off in the menu. It gives you an extra 20 credits a day. You might not need it, though, you did pretty well on this one after you shook off the rust and you're pretty close to the end now. Looking forward to the next one!

The text being censored cracked me up as the speech wasn't. It felt like the opposite of the bot that comes up when people donate to the stream that censors everything. "Thanks for being such a cl<asterix> <asterix> <asterix> y guy"

I have a comment to the guy with the glasses n this stream. I wish I knew your name, you know...the guy on the left...of the other guy on the stream...from my perspective. NO WAIT, HIS! I'm watching this stream through the bathroom mirror while brushing my teeth. So, my view is all off. I'll let you guys figure it out. You have glasses, so you're like, you know, smart. 🤓 Had fun both of you...(on the left and right). Great stream! I'll be back! (Now, what channel is this? It sucks he didn't have the YT fame that some of his other channel awesome friends did. But he'll always have that little corner of the internet where you can tune in and zone out.

This game has such a different feel than Firewatch. Could be that game was solely through the protagonist's perspective and everything was communicated through exploration and the walkie-talkie. So, it had to convey the emotion through the dialogue.

I forgot how rich looking this game is. Every level is kind of trial and error, learning and getting timing right. It can be frustrating, but looks like a lot of fun when you get it right. Has anybody referred "Bramble: The Mountain King" to you? It is like a dark fairy tale...similar vibe.

I like @Paul commented that he takes his time to explore everything which is different from the playthroughs with Daniel. I have been enjoying the story but I understand the frustration with the game since I'm not the one playing 😅 Agree with Paul that it went kinda out there not keeping things grounded. It's already hard enough to follow its paths before you add aliens and multi-dimensions into it. Thanks for trying it out anyway, exposes me to a new narrative/FMV game I haven't seen :)

If you`re going to interview Manon Gage, then I highly recommend to restart Immortality for one session at least. Even if it`s in private only... I`d love to see your live reactions though ngl 🙂 I think that Paul would at least appreciate the experience, if not end up loving it. And Manon is the best interview partner you could ask for 😎 Maybe we could raise 100 bucks beforehand and quasi kickstart a one-off Twitch livestream via Ko-Fi 💵 I´d contribute to it for sure 🤗

Around 1:18 Noah said "we wanted players to find the puzzle and then search for the key to it, that's much more interesting". It's exactly the opposite of how the statue from the beginning was handled. Kerner said "have you found a lock to my key?" Literally finding the key first. Was that on purpose? Sounds quite genius on a meta level, considering kerner is the villain and does things opposite to how Indy does from the start :P perhaps overthinking. But interesting nonetheless

  • @diddymelone2265

Love this game. The U-boat scenario drove me nuts as a kid. Took me forever to reach Atlantis. I loved that Indy read the instructions on the U-boat as German gibberish. As a German person myself I can tell you that "Krausgefarben" and "ausgeschnitzel" are not actual words, but close enough anyway xD And it's funny to me that most players wouldn't realize that anyway. The lost dialogue and how it describes the stone disc positions is still so much fun to me, what a genius idea.

King’s Quest 5 was my first exposure to the series, so King’s Quest 3 was the early KQ game I found the most intriguing due to its plot being directly related to that of KQ5. By the time I got my own copy of KQ3 in 1994, I had already played it a couple of times at a friend’s house. I went into it being told that the wizard disappears on a timer of 25 minute increments, that there’s a difficult mountain path to navigate and there are mandatory spells with typing precision. As a kid, I never questioned this game’s difficulty or absurdities, but instead took them all as axiomatic. I found the wizard somewhat scary, but not as much as if I was playing it blind. As a result, I probably did a lot less mythologizing of this game than other kids and, instead, approached it more methodically like you would see from a modern speed runner. Even as a kid, I would strategize on how to use my allotted 25 minutes most efficiently. Do I have enough time to get more spell components or should I start walking up the mountain path now? Do I have enough time to cast another spell? What can I do to make best use of my time before the wizard returns? I believe this was the first “good” King’s Quest. The first two games were basic fetch quests: Find these 3 special objects and win. This was the first to have an interesting premise: You’re a slave boy trying to escape an evil wizard. In the process, you’re thrown a plot twist that you’re actually a kidnapped prince. I was never bothered by the timer, the mountain path, or the spell casting. I approached them all with the attitude that they were simply arcade sequences, no different than the skimmer sequence in Space Quest or the combat sequences in Quest for Glory. The added challenge made it more fun. Because this wasn’t my first Sierra game either, I took it for granted that there were potential walking dead scenarios and I axiomatically accepted that I needed to keep multiple save states. The Secret of Monkey Island was the only LucasArts game I ever had as a kid and I never really considered the possibility that Sierra games could have been conceptually designed in any other way. I still had fun playing them. Do I think KQ3 is a “good” game by today’s standards? Probably not. It was good for the time though. It was created in a time when each game cost you between $40-$60 and you had few other games to distract you or to draw comparison. It was a time before the internet or smart phones, and if you were a kid, it was a time before you had a job. As a kid on summer break, I used to be able to throw myself into games with complete abandon and I had the drive and perseverance to actually complete them. In contrast, compare that to my adulthood experiences with Broken Sword or Day of the Tentacle, both of which I bought online 20+ years ago in 2003-04. I just completed Day of the Tentacle for the first time last year and I’ve still never completed Broken Sword. Approaching games - any games, not just adventures - is much more difficult as an adult. For another example, I bought Grand Theft Auto IV in 2012 and I’ve still never completed it either. Being an adult sucks. I believe your stage in life affects playability much more than game play itself. I can go back and effortlessly play through childhood favorites by muscle memory, but “new” (to me) games are a chore to slog through. Objectively speaking, adventure games are now a niche genre played primarily by middle aged adults. If you’re creating a new adventure game targeting primarily that demographic, you should definitely avoid the early Sierra style. I definitely wouldn’t have the patience for KQ3 if I were to play it for the first time now as a 40 year old adult. As a kid back in 1994, however, with a 486 and a long summer break, KQ3 was a lot of fun. I believe your early exposure to these games will effect your enjoyment of them much more than anything else. PS. you could have awakened Mannanan at any time by going into his bedroom and typing “wake wizard”. Surprisingly, he won’t kill you. At least not the first time you do it.
