Spoony I just wanted to say that your Ultima retrospective stands out as one of the greatest pieces of internet media ever produced and actually stands the tests of time as a true documentary to one of gamings oldest and most important franchises. Mixed with your obvious personal connection to the series, that story of playing with your brother always gets me, it really is a masterful work.
I hope to see you produce more reviews and videos again but if you don't ever that series along leaves behind a legacy worth remembering and it is the reason I got into software development and game design.
I know I'm not the first to say this but watching Spoony play these games with Curtis Craig all these years later is so surreal.
I can't help but feel it would make more sense to play something Spoony didn't riff on already, there's plenty of funny FMV games to try, but I'm still glad to see him active again, and playing games alongside "Curtis". Crazy how things turn out. And if there's any chance this might reach Spoony - I'd love to see you vlog about movies again.
The hacker in the wheelchair is a very very clear reference to Neuromancer, talking about “melting ice” and “selling smoke”. I’d bet my hat he was referred to as a “console cowboy” in an earlier draft of this game.
ten seconds later Quinlan calls him a “deck jock”- that character is 90% Dixie Flatline, 10% Julius Deane. Someone writing this game was a Gibson fan for sure
We love ya Spoony!
Damn, spoony looks 20 years younger without the beard.
hes not an unattractive man
The letter from Fungiplays was very sweet!
And a great video overall, as usual. Kudos to Daniel for fixing the issues with the game quickly. I remember back in the day when the first puzzle of a game was usually getting that game to run.
Damn, you three make a great team! Hope you all keep gaming together, this is so comfy and so much fun!
1:29:10 Honestly, considering what Quinlan is up against, it's not surprising that he's constantly looking over his shoulder.
I missed the live version of this stream. Glad it’s kept up for those of us who can’t make it live! Been a lurker for a bit, but I’ve enjoyed all the videos!
1:26:12 'grepping' might be a clever attempt at future slang. Grep is a linux/unix command used for pattern searching in text strings.
Missed the stream! Had a notification set and everything. Oh well, I've got 2 hours now and I'll catch ya next time.
these are so fun! even though ive seen spoonies ripper video about 3 times or whatever, its cool to see it done again.
Tex Murphy Under a Killing Moon would be an awesome fmv game to go through with Spoony. If you can get it to run, back in the day it was a nightmare. Or maybe Black Dahlia, that one had Dennis Hopper!
Holy crap, Dennis Hopper in a video game is nuts
Definitely. And the newest one 😍
Didn’t Spoony stream that on Twitch back in something like 2010?
Bearded spoony was great but classic spoony is good too.
Cant wait for part 3!
Another great video guys
with the crystal puzzle back in the day i would have a note pad to make notes or draw things. or just if i have the money to waste take a Polearod pic of it.
What's the reference of "Palestinians in New Dallas"? Just a little bit of ambient Cyberpunk orientalism?
47:43 I'm not a fan of this puzzle because, like they talked about in the previous episode with the monkey wrench, it is a puzzle that requires specific cultural background. Here, the clue is 'no eye aid' which is then translates to 20/20 (don't need glasses), but that is only a vision standard that is used in North America. Playing through this back in the day as someone in Europe I'd have zero chance of figuring this out.
EDIT: Okay, I should've waited to comment because Daniel says the exact same thing lol sorry
Hey, Spoony shaved his beard off. AFAIK he never had one for his entire internet career except for recently. I'm so happy he's doing better these days!
Im into this Noah fella and just created a new Twitter account to follow him 💐😍
I'm messing with a Windows98 system RIGHT NOW! It's pain and I love it! :D
Are you guys playing the version that runs on modern machines. I have this one from an Ebay seller that reworks old games to play on modern machines. I have Ripper from him and it runs great on windows 10
We're playing using the original CD's which were ripped as images.
I'm running this game on DOSBox with some special configuration which was eventually achieved with a lot of trial and error.
I thought it might help
@@super6081 Thanks!
But for now we're stuck with this version :)
Who knows what would happen if we change the version now 😨
@@danielalbu I sent you an email with a site related to this that you might want to check out. :)
I just saw this guy on an episode of The Drew Carey Show. Barely recognized him without the glasses. 😆
Why the sound designers felt the need to use the ambient sound of someone weed eating is beyond me.
Little known fact, but Benjamin Franklin co-created the Metric System and the Founding Fathers wanted to switch to it, but the cost to replace tooling was too much for the US to switch at the time. So whenever someone says Metric "isn't American" you can shine light on their ignorance.
who needs a house ,when you got a Big Jacket!!! you can live in.
Oh, 6-6 vision, because metric. Right.
1:30:05 Give me a drink, bartender
Emoticon Franchise? So, NFTs?
I may only be partially paying attention but this game doesn't make any sense lol
Even with the full attention of the three of us, the game makes no sense!
I played Super Monkey Ball, that game sucks!
