Apple was there. They were walking around looking for ideas to steal lol
Reminds me of the “weird” era of smartphones before iPhone solidified the shape we have today. Curious to see where we end up. Thanks Scott!
Very well said.
Don’t tell that to the Android folks!
We had the same era for both personal computers and consoles in the late 70s and up to the mid 80s. So many crazy machines. Then again with all the 3d graphics contraptions in the 90s.
I kinda love being in the middle of it while things are being worked out. It's the most exciting time. I remember the era where devs were trying to make sense of 3D graphics with a lot of fondness. Much failure, much success. Everything new.
I think Apple and Meta reps are present but are they looking for the next startups to buy up rather than show off what they can do. They have their own events for that.
I literally just said this exact thing. They are there, but they are the unknown for these companies! The big execs get daily briefings on this stuff!
Those shoes at 4:03 are tight.

I believe the art piece is fully titled “I Will Defy You Until My Dying Breath” by Cameron Kostopoulos. It is on preview in NY.
I would like to know how on device AI drain battery. Not many people talk about this.
It’s burst processing unless you’re planning to send constant requests. Images might be a drain but other stuff is probably no worse than watching video.
AI is "thinking;" "thinking" requires processing; processing requires powering the processors; powering the processors drains the battery.
The best beggining is always with something simple (for example Meta Ray Ban).
So when people adopt this devices at a massive scale they will be ready for something more complex.
my idea for the future of ar is a mixture of the vision pro and transparent oled and "ar" glasses like xreal.
lol
There’s that word again perfect, the only problem here we have been spoiled with Visual Effects in movies and television science fiction we won’t get to the perfect Virtual Reality experience in the Real World anytime soon, we still need to improve the current generation of hardware because everything is too clunky and heavy and the manufacturing process needs power.
I hope they are not headphones. To extrapolate that thought further, I think companies see the best success when they focus on doing their one thing great, being the best in the world at doing that thing. Apple and other companies have been working on perfecting headphones for years. At this point a system should just support bluetooth and MAYBE aux. In regards to AR and VR glasses, the more companies are able to offload operations to an external device that sits on a table, or perhaps in the pocket, the closer we will get to mainstream readiness.
It’s going to biotechnology. It already has. Once you see the AR overlay it’s amazing.

I WANT THIS FUTURE OF AR GLASSES ON AI!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, not interested at all in strapping a VR or AR helmet to my head. I ordered the Viture Pro glasses. Good solution, not cumbersome or confining.
lets gooo! great vid, AR/XR/MR is going to replace smartphones. LETS GOOOO!
Since the entire world become the nerds of the 80s/90s are the VR gang now considered the new nerds?
am seeing we near ready player game in reality 3:58 4:00
Like always ❤ informative and fun!😊
No one did a ring? Come on people, rings with buttons and motion sensors. 😅
U talked and explained to much! I want to see the stuff!
Cannot wait until people found out AI isn't as extraodinary as corporations has been overhyped it to be for long suffering decades and the hype died out so everyone will be focusing on VR/AR development which already is an extraodinary technology which you don't need to wait 50 years for it to work as promise other than more apps and support
Mans has never hear of inmo
Wow
I lost interest in virtual reality after valve index did not release another headset. Thumbs down valve index 👎
If Apple couldn’t make people care about this tech then no one will
Limited mindset that has been the preferred choice of losers throughout history - choose your side.
lol.
Still wearing a mask in 2024? C'mon man lol
You explain so much stuff so fast I'm not able to grasp anything. This video should last 10 minutes!
Basically the technology shown off is starting to boom and looking more like consumer items and push the envelope further, but we aren't quite there yet, perhaps 2027
I disagree. It's a good video.
You can try slowing down the video playback speed
@@smittyvanjagermanjenson182Good call on the date, but, if you have ever been to the show before, these are the same companies each year
Its not fast at all. You are slow
AR will take a couple of years to get there?? (Lmao) ... If anything people should forget about them completely. Imo, truly convincing AR glasses will at best come about around “2040”.
Sorry . did i hear something like iPhone is perfect??! Really!!
No. That’s not what he said. He said: the iPhone showed how phones should be. And that’s what was done in 2007. There’s no AR/VR at the moment that point out how things are gonna actually be. The Standard.
The "iPhone moment" the iPhone moment shaped all smartphones today. This is only the beginning of this technology from Meta and apple, but AR glasses aren't here yet. Meta just made a new division specifically for wearables
You’re going to argue the current modern smartphone was started by iPhone? Don’t come in here on that LG Prada BS! I know it’s hard to believe, but you never saw multitouch on an actual hand held device prior to iPhone! Typing on a screen…how many Androids were created with slide out keyboards until before they folded and went the iPhone way? Flash? What happened to flFlash my guy? Siri, no headphone jack, no as card slot? Who did it first? Now you got a Galaxy with One UI that looks like a straight copy of iOS! All you Android folks just talk about software features that are not innovative, Apple just chose not to do it and that was a business decision! If you need to know more about that, let me know! iPhone is the reason you have the current phone in your hand! Android was developed to copy blackberry OS before it was bought by Google to go after iOS or should I say iPhone OS?!?
As a product right now, I don’t see AR catching on in the mainstream unless it’s stylish, affordable, and easy to use with a foolproof interface. The problem is that there isn’t a need for it. It doesn’t fill a void to help make life easier, and because of that it will never be a product that people will see as a “must have”.
This fad will pass
