I want the corner piece...without the black pepper. 😅😅 my mother used both sweet potato and pumpkin. We never could wait to cool down completely😅😅

I don't put baking powder in mines. I put both sweet potato and pumkin. And never put salt before, might just add a little next time.

Oh yes that's pone. The way old-school persons made it, no milk. It brings back memories of how my mother, even my aunts, how they made pone ❤🇹🇹

I am of Trinidad heritage and I absolutely love our cuisine. These recipes are so wonderful. I left when I was ten years old. I love following Uncle Clyde and all the farmed produce, etc. I have learned so much about Trinidadian cuisine from video like this. Thank you so much for sharing mama. God bless you.

Aunty, your recipe for cassava pone is similar to mine, except for the baking powder. We normally bake the cassava cake outside in a pot with firewood ontop and below,

Love pone ❤. No milk in mine or black pepper or pumpkin. I use sweet potatoes. I'll have to try it with the baking powder. I call that pone gooey 😋 😋

I know the appearance of the food is not important to many people, but those dry, burnt edges and the the way she failed to slice it properly, which caused it to break apart, was grinding on my nerves when she was struggling to remove it from the the dish and blamed it on the heat. Lol

For most baked goods, you let it cool so you can slice it and get it out easily. But I think it was in the oven a bit too long.

Pone is a dessert you have to let cool completely before slicing
