I am saving this video!!!!! Praise God I'm telling you this is exactly what my mother had me help her do in the kitchen back in the day. I've no idea how I'm going to source all the correct ingredients where I live, and how I expect to make this with less than 2 weeks til Christmas, but I'm going to do it!!! Thank you 🙏🏿💪🏿👍🏿

Excellent Presentation by the Host of how to make Christmas Black Cake. The most interesting part was the preparation of the ingredients and his skillful explanation of how everything comes together. The final product is outstanding in looks and I'm sure in taste as well. Great Job Sir. Happy Holidays.

I'm from Curaçao and we used to bake this only for very special occasions.
    It's a very expensive cake.
The only difference is that we don't boil the fruits but we cure them in liquor for 6 weeks or more.
    It's so delicious.

As he said in the video, the usual method is soaking the fruits, but this is shortcut way when you haven't had time to soak it. Can't even tell the difference if done right.

My parents are Guyanese, and we make this cake for weddings and Christmas. There are some differences between our cake and the Trini black cakes though, mainly the spices used.

Good night 🌃, I've never used this method before in making black cake 🎂, I love how you incorporated all the spices into the alcohol, the water that you used in the oven, waw I must try it, only thing I would have liked to see you test the cake to know that it's ready. Beautiful demo, love all the tips, and your wife were cleaning along the way, nice.
