    *By functional I mean you can comfortably swing or carry it **bestgym.equipment** around as one would expect of a kettlebell weight. By versatile I mean the protective coating does not prevent attaching magnetic micro-plates to increase the weight, so, for example, a 35 pound kettlebell can be increased by up to 5 pounds in weight or possibly a bit more by attaching magnetic micro-plates.*

    These look like great workouts.
    I would recommend getting a small mic on the collar, it's hard to hear and the echo was not helping. Other than that I'm looking forward in trying these workouts.
    Thank you for the video.

    No offense but the girl isnt that good with KB exercises. She held kb all wrong for the halos...waay to far away from the body. Hes around the bodies SHOULDVE been done with straight arms...she bent her arms the entire time her standing leg passes were horrible.
    Not to mention the Terminology ur using..."front abs" ? Come on.
    Side note: im a certified kb trainer

    I teach KBs to advanced adults. I used this routine with them last week. We did three sets of the workout using med to heavy KBs. They were sore the next day, which is good and they asked for more. Most have great upper and lower body strength, but no matter how much I stress core, they seem to dismiss it. After this workout, they now understand. I am 65 and don't have the upper or lower body strength they have but I can kick each one of their butts in core. They are all in their 20s and 30s and I can still whip them in core workouts. Thanks for this workout.

      James Walker when you lift a kettle bell aren't you supposed to treat it like any other weight and lift with your knees and not your back?

    • @Bbnbboy11
      @Bbnbboy11 7 років тому

      Absolutely. If you use your back only, you will ruin your lower back. Use your legs to lift. I teach that to all my athletes. You are totally right. Squat to pick up anything over 20 lbs.

    That bell has to be super light for its size. That planking swing is a recipe for disaster with a heavy bell.

    • @coachryan44
      @coachryan44  9 років тому +2

      Aimee Valle The yellow bell is 15lbs. I use a 35lbs KB for my plank swings, no disaster...

    • @ALCV11
      @ALCV11 9 років тому +2

      Ryan Shanahan Thanks for responding! I mentioned it because watchers can't determine the weight used unless it's in the notes or you tell them in the video. I understand that everyone won't be using the same weight and should use the kettlebell appropriate for them.
      But, as a female of approximately the same size and structure as the female in the video, and judging by the look of the kettlebell which is as large as a 16kg, and knowing that yellow is the color often used for a 16kg, my comment "That bell has to be super light for its size." seems accurate. I'm conditioned and can't do the the move with a 16kg without injury. That's not to say you couldn't, but you and I are not the same size.
      Adding the weight of the kettlebell example (the name of the girl would be nice too) in the notes could help others who might be trying to estimate based on their own size. Anyway, thank you for the videos.

      @Bbnbboy11 9 років тому +4

      Aimee Valle Not necessarily. I teach an advanced adult KB class and they love the plank swing. They use between 20lb and 50 lb. It is really in the swing and the core tightness. I am 65 and use a 40. I agree that you need a really tight and fit core to do it, but it can be done. Your butt has to stay parallel to the floor. It takes practice but is a great core workout. Start light and work up. It is challenging but rewarding all the same.

    I've been eating low cal, and have lost 26 pounds. My blood pressure and sugar, is in a healthy range, after a lifetime of poor eating habits. I've been following this video, and afterward, I do the traditional swinging of the kettlebell between my legs. I am beginning to see definition in my abdomen for the first time. My arms and legs feel stronger, and I feel like my back is getting stronger as well. I was in a car accident about 7 years ago, and I hurt my back pretty bad. So far, this exercise and the swing that I do afterward, has not aggravated my back at all, and that's why I've been sticking to the routine. Just wanted to thank Coach Ryan for his videos. I feel comfortable following his instructions, and again, I've been seeing results, which I'm grateful for.

    You can't spot-reduce fat which is what you are alluding to here. Please stop, for the love humanity, spreading this fitness industry BS. Otherwise good video.

    • @coachryan44
      @coachryan44  9 років тому

      Yes, you can spot reduce. Why would you think you can't?!

    • @sunrise-sunsetchicago2273
      @sunrise-sunsetchicago2273 9 років тому +7

      John is absolutely right. Spot reduction alone does not burn enough calories in order to get rid of fat. Kettlebells can be a great fitness tool to help burn fat, but it isn't helpful to consumers to continue perpetuating this myth. The sad part is many in the fitness industry do know better; they would just rather consumers be slaves to their products than educate them.

      Looks like 6kg or 8kg how fast she is moving this KB. Other brands use different colors for different weights. COLOR CODES BY KETTLEBELL WEIGHT from KB kings website: 8 kg / 17.6 lbs - Pink. 12 kg / 26.4 lbs - Blue. 16 kg / 35.2 lbs - Yellow. I like to use 6kg for these exercises, because if it's too heavy I get too much back pain. :)
