The first one has the best cutscenes between the characters from different timelines. It's like a bad but fun fanfiction, like something you'd imagine as a kid playing with action figures.
The musou style fits perfectly for stuff like SEED and WING where the gundams are so hilariously OP we seem them plow through hordes of fodder suits no issue but it doesn't really work for the UC
Shout out to the fact that DW Gundam 2 has unique character interactions when performing a combo musou with characters youd never think would have them. Domon and Kamille have one that goes "Are you man enough Kamille" and its all dubbed too which is nice since gundam games literally never get dubbed anymore in fact this was the last time we saw some of these VAs as these characters.
Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 got me back into Gundam after not keeping up with the franchise for years (from around when G-Gundam finished airing in the states to a year or two after the game's release) so it holds a special place in my heart. I'm also quite sure that Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 is still the only way to experience the stories of ZZ, Victory and Turn A in some way with an English dub. Reborn is pretty good but doesn't have an English dub is that's a downside. It's also a pain in the butt to track down a physical copy but you can emulate it (though you need to do some messing around to get it to work).
I play both dynasty warriors gundam 1 through 3 on my PS3 long time ago while I was a Teen. I had Fun. But I'll will not forget the Day that Musha Gundam Kick my Butt on 1 on PS3
He's certainly a unit! I remember there were about half a dozen of us (myself and NPC Aces), jus wailing on him for about half an hour! SP Attack after SP Attack! Bugger jus would not go down! That said, what about the True Dynasty Warriors Gundam Missions? Thank the God Gundam for Unicorn being on 3, that thing jus slices through enemy units!
The duo musha is a menace, but it's easier to beat when you use char and his zaku cause one of his skill improve overall performance of mass production suit and char's zaku is included as one so his zaku can be overly powered than any other suit
The 3rd game is my favorite. That one looks so beautiful and the gameplay feels the best to me. Reborn is also good but the game felt a bit too fast paced for me, it felt clunkier than 3.
Reborn is absolutely worth it. For what it's worth, DW 1 and 2 had some of the best story content out there, DW 3 had an okay idea for an original story but it's execution didn't hold up IMHO. Reborn is a mixed bag. I will say the (IIRC) Reborn's progression is essentially an upgrade to DW2's progression system and it has by far the most playable suits and characters, along with refinements to other gameplay systems. While 3 had some missteps, each DWG game was a clear attempt to improve on the series as a whole and that's why I truly wish we could get another solid entry into the series. Provided they held back on graphical fidelity to focus on scope and scale (lots of pilots, missions, stories and suits) along with some refining of the game mechanics and especially if they expanded on the combat options (more combo string options basically) the results could be a truly great game as both a Gundam game and a Warriors game. I look forward to seeing your take on Reborn, and I'm really glad you found a game in the series that you appreciated. It's never going to be one of those more realistic, simulation Gundam games, but there's room for both arcade style and simulation style games. Just like we can appreciate both G Gundam and 08th MS Team.
Ac6 and that new Mechwarrior clans maybe are basically it when it comes to real-time mech stuff. I have a lot of fun in gbo2 despite its unending issues tho. Also there's the guys doing the hawken revival project and I can't forget titanfall 2's campaign
I remember playing the 2nd game on ps2 up to 750 hours back in the day trying to get everything. I couldn't but still had a really great time with the game
The first one was my step into Gundam, where I first used the Mk. II and I unlocked all the Achievements for, I did get to this after 3, I love the fact that the DLC on both PS3 and Xbox 360 is free, even if it is a load of Missions, but since one guarantees you the Licenses for the Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice Gundams I'll let them off, especially since that one is REALLY good for building Affinity! On my recent run on PS3, though, I found an interesting feature with the monster that is the Nu Gundam! If you set it up to boost its final Combo and hit an Ace with it, not only does it kill them, but their Health Guage actually goes berserk, a dull red line flying off to the far right top corner before shrinking down as normal! One gripe I do have with this game, though, is in the Mobile Suit Lab, it prioritises those units you've used most, so you wind up getting the same Units' Parts over and over and over again, it gets old really fast! But, I do have the Platinum Trophy and now the DLC for Reborn and I will be having fun with 3's DLC at some point, I swear!
Welp Nu Gundam is prob the 2nd best fastest ace killer in the game. Only behind the god Gundam with clones and high magnetism. Pretty much my to go set up is sniper, hexa drive, armor gain, zero range shot, last one can be anything else. Then equip skills like fighting instinct, impulse and ace killer. U can literally close to half hp or very close to kill the ace enemy in hard mode full stars
@@vaticang9019 Armour Gain and Aura Burst are the two Skills I put on every unit, with Zero Range Shot I put on everything not primarilly melée-based! I believe it was Hexa Drive I used to boost that one move that broke the Health Guage the way I described! Well, it didn't so much break as it went mad! Zero Range Shot is also key in my combo for beating the Knight Gundam in the final Story Mission for 3, along with a max Shot stat on Rank 4 Plans for the Unicorn with Amuro at the helm, thanks to NT-D Armour!
@ mb I thought u were talking about the DW Gundam 2. Cuz the Nu Gundam 5th charge atk got nerfed heavily in the ps3 version for DW Gundam 2 and later version DW Gundam 3. Cuz DW Gundam 3 is too risky to using fighting instinct cuz hp bar is like paper in this version. One hit and almost die lol
This is one of my all time favorite Gundam games. The Dynasty Warrior: Gundam Reborn on ps3 is my favorite of the Dynasty Warrior games. Although disappointed it has no English dialogue & only Japanese, it's still my favorite.
Dynasty warrior gundam PS2 was my first gundam game, I know it looks bad, but I never been as happy as that time when I use turn A gundam and destroy so many NPC.
I would love to play more of these but unless they get realeased on pc I won't, Sony has screwed me over enough that I refuse to touch a Playstation ever again.
Ive played through each DWG game and while they all have individual pluses (like 1's what if crossover mode, though 3 has it too) 2 is my favourite one, followed by Reborn.
Dynasty Warriors gundam 2 holds a very very big special place in my heart as this was the game that got me into it specifically the PS2 version since I didn't have APS 3 or 360 until years later. I had an absolute blast playing through this game when I was younger and when I lost my PS2 copy I was sad for about a couple of years until I found another one years later bought it and then played it to Hell and back again. It may not be the realistic interpretation of the franchise but honestly when has the series ever did anything super realistic when new types started becoming b******* and once the series start to keep experimenting and more often that it's feeling more like how digimon experiments with genres after the fact. Still, DWG 2 is an easy S tier game which hasn't been topped after this one. Like yeah the third game was fun but it still felt limiting compared to this one and reborn well it did have the best game play improvements and a Better version of the story mode it felt More like a seed game with a whole bunch of mobile suits from other series pushed in but seed got more love in comparison. Again this game will always be a recommendation from me no matter if you have A PS2 or A PS 3.
Man! I miss playing the DW: Gundam 3. I remember upgrading Deathscythe Hell to the point where it was just OP. I could take out commanders in one quick SP attack. Edit: I never got to play DW: Gundam Reborn. 😢
i get a high standard pc build playing ps3 emulator playing dynasty warrior 1 2 and 3, it's really fun to play i say 2 is best one with lab system and license system using any mobile suits, 1 is ok with original story, 3 has more units to use but difficulty too hard on hard mode haven't play reborn yet, hear that recently is playable with emulator so i gonna try it
Played all of the DW Gundam Series all of them is very fun and each newer one have a big improvement, with reborn being my favorite cause it really make you feel strong and also lot choice of pilot and ms. DW 3 is my least favorite cause they remove space terrain and some of the map feels eh. The graphic style is pretty weird almost borderland like style. Two is pretty solid feels great overall even if it's not a whole lot different from the first one but the mission mode is pretty cool
I was playing on PS3 Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborns last night, and own DW Gundam 3 since that’s the first one to use Cell Shading… and they are pretty damn good games. I have the PS2 version of DWG2 haven’t played it yet lol.
I love the ps2 version of Dw Gundam 2 since u can 1 vs 5 aces with the camera. It has the problem like old games where the things u see in front of the camera is what attacking u while the other outside of camera won’t do shit. So u can literally turn 1 vs 5 to 1vs1 😂😂
Honestly, the only part about DWG2 that isn't that good is the relationship system combined with the insane amount of randomness there tied to unlocking suits.
Gundam Warriors 2 Is ok, but the 1st and 3rd are the real good ones for storyline and Gundam References aplenty, while reborn had the better gameplay and unit variety
The first one has the best cutscenes between the characters from different timelines. It's like a bad but fun fanfiction, like something you'd imagine as a kid playing with action figures.
I honestly want a sequel to this. With G-Unit, Hathaway, Under the Double Fake and more obscure units.
Man, I love the DW: Gundam games! I wish Reborn was remastered for modern consoles. I miss them.
The musou style fits perfectly for stuff like SEED and WING where the gundams are so hilariously OP we seem them plow through hordes of fodder suits no issue but it doesn't really work for the UC
Well, if you play on the PlayStation 3, you can still get some free DLC for it
Same as with the Xbox 360, altough, I don't know if that's still the case any more...
You can also just use emulator, and all of the dlc exist and downloadable on nps
Same here
1 2 3 and reborn

This game is so special to me. Is not only one of my first games i had as a kid, but also is how a knew Gundam.
as someone who grew up DW gundam 1 and 2 and the regular DW on ps2 with my dad has to be my fondest memories when coming to playing video games

Yo Jarboe. You should try Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn. Reborn is the best in the series.
@@mtsthoughts2008 I played a few minutes of it to capture some footage for this video and yeah, I was pretty impressed!
I second this! Reborn is so good.
Loved it and still play a little. Miss the English VA but it’s got a lot potential and is a great bridge between 3.
WHY IS IT NOT ON STEAM YET!!!???
@mercenarygundam1487 Because bandai hates us.

I remember playing the 2nd game on ps2 up to 750 hours back in the day trying to get everything. I couldn't but still had a really great time with the game
Best thing about the first game was being able to change the voice-overs to the original Japanese. I really missed that option in 2.
