How could you go from such greatness to this crap. Its just hard to believe. In a span of two years- 1987 to 1989 (The "Sally Cinnamon to One love" years), every song was simply brilliant. I used to consider Squire a god. Damn you squire. How could you do this to us fans.
I find it funny how people say some people have horrible voice.. Alot of big singer had horrible voice, steve tyler, janis joplin, bon scott.... Lot and lot. You just need the right style of music that fit... Horrible voice in music doesnt exist, only the music in a whole can be bad
If you actually cared about music you could appreciate this effort even if it's in your opinion unfavourable. Surely it's fascinating to have a little repository of Johns vocal? Even if you don't like it, surely you can value that it's out there in public. As a real fan with burgeoning interest surely it is of interest to have this evidence of John which cannot be erased from history? It's evidently the same musician who created your beloved 2 albums, and the instrumentation is actually far superior here to that of the eponymous Roses album from the 13 years experience and learning since then. There's literally no call for dismissing it or hating it. As for those who say he cannot sing - it's axiomatically incorrect. To sing is to make musical notes with your voice. This he is doing and doing correctly - perfectly hitting the notes. You're actually just dissatisfied with the style of vocal and his vocal tone. He cannot change how he sounds. You're hating somebody for the way they are and the body they live inside? Do you feel like a big-man now? Of course, I bet you're all people who have done something of worth and therefore have the right to unjustly hate without any real argument.
Brown has presence, Ive seen it live many times! Unfortunately Squires hasnt. Brill guitarist and song writer, but he aint no Ian Brown that is for sure!!
This is excruciating. Music is about innovation as much as it is melody. The Roses had both, this has neither. At least Ian Brown is trying to push the envelope with beats and directions (mariachi/rock/dance/funk/acid house/rap/dark instrumentals/singing in Spanish etc etc). So is Mani with Primal Scream (always mental) . This is just bland. And his voice sounds like an action mans chainsaw. A weedy buzz. Get it sorted John. You know you've got it in you.
Great guitarist.... Thank god he's packed the solo shite in ... he can't sing! Shame he dumped Ian Brown.... hence now he's painting and decorating. Real shame.........
Jesus I love him so much😻

Marshalls house is a superb album, hopefully one day he will release his unreleased 3rd album.
Need someone to upload the full album! 🙏🏻
Love this video just wish it was remastered
sorry! too many drinks that night and thought I knew it all. heh heh....
I'm obsessed with squire and his guitar playing right now.
peace up.
brown was and is a genius
but i think Squire may be a bigger one
he set the style aswell with his pollockesque paintings for the covers and instruments
Sophie Upton (Squire's wife) on the drums?
I like this.
Me mothers got them curtains
Damn. This is a good song.

Maybe be wrong but think that’s john’s wife playing the drums
Is that Squires wife on drums?
ian wanted to go electronic though where as john wanted to kepp it like the second coming, there both to headstrog though
@Bkgrill81 yeah I think so.
Should've been called William Morris' house!
Blows goats my wayward son
i need to order this album from amazon!
it's a stretch, but I'll grant you he doesn't look entirely unlike tim robbins in this vid.

I'm the Roses biggest fan, but...this song is an absolute travesty. It's irredeemably bad.
sounds like a comedy Bowie
Ian Brown is tone deaf.

Haha an action man's chainsaw
Shoulda' kept doin' like he did with the Roses, but probibly he just got selfish and thought he could sing.
shite
