Stone Roses final performance of 'I am the Resurrection' at Hampden Park on Saturday 24th June 2017. "Don't be sad it's over, be happy that it happened".
I’m 60 next birthday, still remember Spike Island like it was yesterday, life changer, one band, one generation, what a time to be alive it was, my heart is racing just typing about it 👍😎💪👊
Andre BCFC they’re definitely better but you’ve got to understand that without the Stone Roses, Oasis would probably not been a thing. Along with the Beatles, the Stone Roses were one Oasis’ biggest influences
@@leemcqueen500 Their behaviour was disgusting. We would never go up there and act like that. But it will not be forgotton. Dont think they will be accomodated again.
Out on a high. Shame they didn't have enough in the tank to give us one last cracking album these last years. Ah, well. Can't knock the bookend. Classy.
I'd have been happy with an album of all for one, beautiful thing, they'd jammed first world problems, 8 other songs, I'm sure they'd a few more they were working on, put it to bed but hey, they love letting us down
@@rizzledizzle3443 They always did. When they began that second world tour without a word on a new album....I knew it was over. The two songs they released sounded like Ian Brown on his own dipping his toe back in the Roses water. Whatever momentum was there from the comeback......it appeared it was the Ian Brown show for new material. Absolute best decision to close the book.
I'm glad I can say I saw these guys once. That was at Benicassim Festival in 2012, after I won tickets on XFM. I never really thought about going to see them again in the following years as at the time I only knew a few of their songs and I hadn't appreciated what a great band they were and what they contributed to the music scene back in the day - so even though I enjoyed seeing them, I didn't know most of the songs that weren't from their debut album and so I couldn't enjoy it as much. And it never occurred to me that they would split up again. I wish I had gone to see them back here in the UK if I'd have known and I'm actually quite upset that, now that I know what a great band they were, that they'll probably never play together again.
...saw them in Hollywood like in the mid 90s... It was epic for us Americans, we had waited so long so see them... bittersweet as Reni had been replaced...

This band produced some incredible music and their first album is exceptional. I hope they recouped some "pension" money from the reformation to make up for the Silvertone rip off in the early years!
I saw The Roses the same weekend as The Killers , both headlining the Saturday and Sunday of 2012 V Festival. The Killers are nowhere near what The Roses are. That's like comparing dog food to Sirloin steak.

One of the most underwhelming gigs I've ever been to was Glasgow Green, love the Rose's but they're not a stadium/big open field band, a small 2K capacity is where they're meant to be seen.
Glasgow green '13 was their best gig for me, sorry just was. They were 10 times better, the atmosphere was better , I was 15 and it was my first ever gig....I was at this gig too right down the front but even that didn't change my opinion and I was just behind the middle row at the green....there was just something far more special about that night, at Hampden you could feel and see the tension between the band especially at the end when they walked off.... nevertheless I'm still and always will be a roses fan.
Steven Tremino I agree. I was at Glasgow Green, Heaton Park and Etihad stadium. All special for their own reasons but Glasgow Green topped them all for me.
I feel for you. As a 44 year old, I never got chance to see them live the first time round. That's why I'm grateful having seen them 4 times since 2012. You can never say never, as they are a very unpredictable band but I'm sorry to say my gut feeling is that Hampden 2017 is the last time you'll see the 4 of them perform on stage together. Hope I'm wrong though!
