No one will understand the 80’s unless u lived it I’m so glad I was apart of this era of music it was so awesome we jammed not all into the political times we are in now such an era
@@Saiyajin947 The days are long and the and the student debt will be plenty. Just discovered this song in 2022 and now it’s my jam! Cruising around town with the windows rolled down listening to this song is just too cool for school
I remember cruising around with the windows open as it played at top volume from my cassette player and the aftermarket speakers I got from Kmart. I was 16. So Cool!! 😀
I saw Hall & Oates when I was in College ('82). This hadn't been recorded yet, but Man, they had SO many hits & their songwriting is vastly underrated (IMO). 1 thing people may not know about Darryl Hall? He sounds just as good (even better on some songs) live as he does on their recordings😍 no auto- tune required. ❣
Mid '82 is when I was born. Music that has the power to connect a college girl and a baby boy, probably on opposite sides of the world (I assume you are American - I am Kenyan) decades on is indeed timeless and interdimensional.
Everybody wishes they LIVED in the 80's. I did. It was "totally awesome"! MTV. Video Games were new. Computers were new. CD's were new. Cell phones. ALL this stuff was revolutionizing the world right before my eyes. It was glorious to see it unfold as it did, and as it still is today.
Shaise Mughal I grew up in South Jamaica, Queens. Crack was in full effect and people were gettin their heads blown off and thrown off buildings for it back then. You had people "tipping scales" and "casing joints". A booster took the purse off my mothers arm so fast in the early-mid 80s she didnt even get to see who did it. LA in the 80s mustve been amazing because of Hollywood really becoming HOLLYWOOD then. Celebrities threw parties like crazy and people were more free. But metropolitan areas were scary ESPECIALLY the subway. I watched people light up what they used to call a "glass dick" live in front of everybody gettin high. Watch the movie called King of New York. Thats pretty much some of what I saw as a kid back then. And I was only 8 when it was over.
Shaise Mughal Yeah I saw that in theaters with my older brother. Great movie by Rob DeNiro. The 80s didnt seem all bad though, the pop/rock music was really good and Hip-Hop was pretty good too. TV was WAYYY better.
Adult Education. Great song. No wonder, these cats are from Philly. We know what's up with music. Saw them down the beach in Wildwood, N.J. the old playpen in diamond beach. Those were the days. I'm a rocker...🎸🎶
From the LP Rock N Soul Part 1!Daryl Hall & John Oates with their number one song about going back to school Adult Education. I'm DJ Richard Brown counting them down all the way to the number one song & the hits won't stop til we get to the top.
This song is like an emotional time vault for me. In spite of it being a cool song, it has barely gotten airplay since its peaking the charts in '84, so hearing it again after all these years REALLY takes me back to high school senior year.
+M Ortlieb Not sure how well it did in the UK but I have a feeling it's something that hit up the USA charts a lot of their more known hits were in the charts in the UK and deservedly so ..all classic songs
+miles Jackson Yeah songs like "I can't go for that", "One on One" and "Kiss on my list" have gotten regular airplay through the years. For some reason, in spite of this song being pretty popular at the time, radio play seemed to just dry up after it left the charts, which is too bad. Still, I like re-discovering it after all these years.
Thank gta for putting some classics on the radio, hits different when your cruising down the highway and this comes on.

There's a wise guy that you know who could put you right
In the lot, the boy that's idling by doesn't rev your heart

And the long halls and the gray walls are gonna split apart

What they need is adult education
You go back to school, it's a bad situation (oh yeah, oh yeah)
What you want is an adult

What they need is adult education
You go back to school, is a bad situation (oh yeah, oh yeah)
What you want is an adult

Oh yeah
They're calling it a preparation
You're waiting for a separation
You're nothing but another odd number
Memories that you won't remember
So you got a little education
And a lot of dedication
But you want a little night school
Maybe some of it will rub off on you
The boys are busy in the mirrors
Trying to imitate their heroes
You make it with a false surrender
More memories you won't remember
The senior with the junior Miss
I wonder what the junior wishes
That she could graduate to adult
That she could graduate to adult kisses

You make it with a false surrender (huh, huh)
More memories you won't remember
The senior with the Junior Miss (huh, huh)
I wonder what the junior wishes
That she could graduate to adult (huh, huh)
That she could graduate to adult kissin
Adult education, Adult education
Adult education, It's a bad situation
Adult education
Adult education
The highpoint of education is gettin outta there
The lowpoint of education is what you wear
Forgot about this song for 35 years...I'm rocking out to it today though. Great tune!
I remember when this song was first released as a single. You don't hear it on the radio that much anymore. One of those songs, where, once you hear it , you can't get it out of your head.
This is one of my favorite Hall & Oates songs
I can't pick a favorite.
@@lenmoore9109 Brother, i feel you. It's like every song from them is fire...
No one will understand the 80’s unless u lived it I’m so glad I was apart of this era of music it was so awesome we jammed not all into the political times we are in now such an era
We walked down the aisle for hs graduation to this song!! Still love it
The most successful duo in music
In my opinion, this is by far Daryl Hall & John Oates' best track out of their entire discography.
I like Maneater a bit better
TRUE
One of my favs
Alexander The Great this, Can't go for that & Man-eater
+GreatNate Bolton: 100% in agreement!!!
"Believe it or not there's life after high school" 💯
He said that as soon as I saw your comment wtf lol.
Joshua.97 woah that’s creepy lol
I’ve recently left high school and have felt kinda sad and lonely since then. Hearing that line gave me a little bit of hope for the future.
@@Saiyajin947 The days are long and the and the student debt will be plenty. You will never get to buy your own home because prices are through the roof and you will be robbed of most of your money by medical bills or insane insurance premiums that don't even cover everything. But rejoice! You have good 80's music.
@@legandarymasterrevan well even if you’re right I’ll choose not to listen to what you just said
LOL John Oates' dancing hahaha
Dude can dance
Loveee his dance
Just saw them last night in CT but they didn't play this song. Still sound a ND look great!! And I agree - underrated still and extremely talented.
Man I was 7 years old in 1982
they were never underrated ...
@@MkurugenziMwenyekiti Indeed!😄
Thank you Rockstar ❤
Everybody wishes they LIVED in the 80's. I did. It was "totally awesome"! MTV. Video Games were new. Computers were new. CD's were new. Cell phones. ALL this stuff was revolutionizing the world right before my eyes. It was glorious to see it unfold as it did, and as it still is today.
John Armenta class of 86 here!
I was a video zombie in the 80's.
Damn Rite!!!!!!!
Class of 82
I was 11 years old in '81, graduated High School in '89. I was truly blessed - tho I sure didn't appreciate what I had at the time! #4
Ahhhh cruising down Vinewood with the sunset when this pops on…😎
I love the smirk on John's face at the beginning...yeah, we get it.
So glad this was a gta 5 song since 2013 I’ve been loving this song 😂 I love when games or movies show new generations great music from the past
This came out when I was in high school. Anyone remember Friday Night Videos? We didn't have cable!
flilguy I loved Friday Night Videos
Me too!🙋🏻
I remember watching shout at the devil by motley crue o Friday night videos nothing like the 80s, I'm 46 now.
Yes!!!!!
John Oates at 0.35 with the ultimate in smirks
3:13 is the best part
I'm 15 and I'm always listening to non stop pop when play gta v and online on the ps3 love this song
This gave me serious nostalgia overload. Being a teenager is the 80's was awesome. This stuff holds up. It stands the test of time.
..80's hits rule
Hall & Oates had a lot of great songs plz
Fedso yup
I was born in 81 i didn't have enough time to enjoy the 80s
Daryl Hall and John Oates gave the entire world an "Adult Education" with this chartbuster four decades ago. Truly a legendary pop iconic duo.
This song is 40 years old. How is that possible? 40 years before that WWII was raging.
I think this may be my favorite Darryl Hall and Oates track. That guitar man!!
I wish I lived in the 80s
Same :)
SAME
I was a kid but it was a scary fuckin decade man...
GTA 5 brought me here, as this was one of Hall and Oates songs I never knew before, loving it......
Adult Education. Great song. No wonder, these cats are from Philly. We know what's up with music. Saw them down the beach in Wildwood, N.J. the old playpen in diamond beach. Those were the days. I'm a rocker...🎸🎶
Rich Girl… Sara.. Maneater … they were a juggernaut in the second half of the 70’s to mid 80’s!
This ist one of the Best Songs i have ever Heard. Thank You so much for it Hall & Oates ❤️
THIS SONG WENT TO NUMBER 8 ON THE BILLBOARD HOT-100 CHART IN 1984.
Wish i had listened to Daryl Hall's advice when i was 15.
From the LP Rock N Soul Part 1!Daryl Hall & John Oates with their number one song about going back to school Adult Education.
I'm DJ Richard Brown counting them down all the way to the number one song & the hits won't stop til we get to the top.
GTA Vice city stories introduced me to 80s music, and my heart has followed that music ever since.
After all these years of living I know EXACTLY what this song means 😂❤💯💯💯💯💯💯💯😏‼️Love you Hall & Oates❤ ... Thank you 🙏
Nearly 40 years later and this song still knocks
oh yea! oh yea!
LETHE that way ✊🏾
3:58 Daryl Hall is my favorite rapper!
This jam sooo underrated luv this they were so great in concert ❤😢
I hear this on Sirius XM radio
i'm here for GTA 5..
one the best music for GTA 5 !
Анри Верду I did not ask for your opinion, I cry and it's free.
