Probably my favorite Hall & Oates song....killer vibe. "Dreams are made of a different stuff Emanating in a method of modern love Present tense, past time behind Don't fall for the same old line"
I love these '80s songs! NOTHING compares to songs from the '80s! NOTHING! It was the very BEST era to be alive and out cruising around in your car or in the clubs! If you were there, you know exactly what I'm talking about. We knew exactly who we were! We had our style and we had fun and didn't hate on anybody!
Vidiwell100 u Are absolutey right!!! the 80s was the best time eventhough where im from, was starting to get crack infested drive bys etc..still fun times
I have to agree about the 80's. I'm 53 now and I can tell you there has been no decade before or since to even come close to what we experienced in the magical 80's. Oh how I wish we had a time machine. I would just about give anything to go back to Jan. 1 1980!!!!! Anything!!!!!
This is SUCH a great song! It is deceptively GREAT in that it uses discordant chords and notes to convey the modernity but he does it so melodically and rhythmically and throws in little hooks to engage you on several levels. Just a great freaking song. Back in the 1980's I loved it but it was a shallow appreciation. I just liked the tune. But now I understand a little better how much craftsmanship went into it to make it something I loved despite the touches to stress the advancing technicality of the era. I don't know if Daryl Hall gets the credit he deserves for being an astounding songwriter AS WELL AS A FANTASTIC SINGER! Great song.
This is an incredible song in so many ways. Their ability to have so much soul vocally. The keyboards bring you to new places. Daryl shows his ability to hit the high notes and give you chills. An amazing group who now in their 70’s continue to make me smile!
Daryl Hall is a one man master class on how to do everything right in music. Pitch, timing, writing, hook, production, and when you watch him in person or in video you see a man doing what he was made to do.

@@pjmills8832 I always say I wish I could have just ONE day back. We lived through an amazing time. What I loved most about the music in the 80s was that it was so rich. Everybody just made what they felt and Blue-eyed pop/soul was everywhere. Duran Duran, Culture Club, ABC, Kajagoogoo, Kenny Loggins, Tom Tom Club, Banarama, Nu Shooz, were all the BEST. Those were really my coming-of-age years. The 70s were an amazing time for music, too. I come from a long line of singers & musicians so when I was little and my parents had house parties, it was like concerts. So, yeah, the good memories are non-stop.
What a fantastic 80s video, I was born in 75 and I remember Hall & Oates as a kid, went to see them live for the first time about 2 weeks ago in Glasgow UK & they are still rocking at 72/71 respectively, massive respect for these guys, they will have experienced a great life and have given so much high quality music.
Daryl killed this song with them vocals. Became a fan of this song around 2009 and I have to say that this is my favorite song Hall & Oates ever did. I know H&O had more well-known songs than this gem, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I adore both of these guys. So sad what's happened to their friendship and brand. It's all about money, power, and positioning. We have the memories. Thank you guys
From late 1984, this song was awesome! Those were some great days, the eighties were fun, there was hardly any division and everyone seem to have a good time. The mullets were all over the place, I had one and thought it would stay forever! Please bring back those days!

My heart lights up at 3:49 EVERY single time I hear this song. It's forever my favorite. 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Hi Maria,hope you’re okay ?
It's sublime
It's awesome
Me too and mine too
That part!
I see the words underrated here. Unless you were living under a rock. Insane amount of concerts all over the planet.
I love that middle bit where the song just breaks out..!! The stuff 80s dreams are made of !!🌟🌟🌟🤘🏽
Yes there’s a very magical quality it has that a lot of 80s songs had it has that perfect 80s prom song feel to it 🤩
THESE BOYS HAD STRAIGHT SOUL...THEY TRULY JAMMED!!
Probably my favorite Hall & Oates song....killer vibe.
"Dreams are made of a different stuff
Emanating in a method of modern love
Present tense, past time behind
Don't fall for the same old line"
An awesome song with out of touch and one on one competing.
Gen X'ers UNITE!!!🤟😎🤘
Level of cheesiness: 10
Level of awesome: 10000
I love these '80s songs! NOTHING compares to songs from the '80s! NOTHING! It was the very BEST era to be alive and out cruising around in your car or in the clubs! If you were there, you know exactly what I'm talking about. We knew exactly who we were! We had our style and we had fun and didn't hate on anybody!
Vidiwell100 yea!
Vidiwell100 u Are absolutey right!!! the 80s was the best time eventhough where im from, was starting to get crack infested drive bys etc..still fun times
except the Beatles
Birdy that’s so true
Great song.
It's an excellent group
💯, Paul.
It’s a great song, that was fortunately well recorded..
Don't forget Mr. Oates contributions my friend.
Duo.
Very true, Paul 😊
Who would have thought that reading letters off an eye chart would've become an epic hit? Awesome jam.
These 80's artists had some of the best music in the universe!!!! Miss that music!!!
Hi Cynthia,hope you’re okay ?
This is an incredible song in so many ways. Their ability to have so much soul vocally.
The keyboards bring you to new places. Daryl shows his ability to hit the high notes and give you chills. An amazing group who now in their 70’s continue to make me smile!
If you're still rocking this in 2022, you're a legend

Method Of Modern Love still hold true four decades after its debut. Hall & Oates' uniqueness will always be preserved.
Daryl Hall is a one man master class on how to do everything right in music. Pitch, timing, writing, hook, production, and when you watch him in person or in video you see a man doing what he was made to do.
Underrated song with an infectious melody. I also really love those harmonies & Daryl's rap towards the end.
KoolCat ! Loved his rap! I was soooo in love with Daryl!!!
Present tense past, time behind, don’t fall for the same old line.
💯💯💯
This Song Wasn't Underrated! You Must Be Too Young To Remember!
Fangsonofgreatfang SMMFH WOW, yessss.!!🎵🎵💜💜
Im 38 years old this song is my ringtone. Has been for 4 years. My kids eventually got over it...Not me!! CD in my car!!! If you don't like it walk!!!
Thanks Mef for showing me Hall n Oates! It's all about the mefod.
80s were THE BEST times!
YOU were around in the 80's??? Not sure if I believe that (based on your pic), but I'm glad there are so many *young* 80's fans!!! ;-)
@@pjmills8832 LOL. I hear that all the time. I was born in 1971 so I was definitely around in the 80s. ☺
@@jazzymoni7750 1971??? Only a year (or less) than the year I was born?? Well, I'll take your word for it...isn't is GREAT to be a product of both the 70's AND 80's??
Yes!!
I’m A 48 YEAR OLD BROWN MAN. AND THIS HERE HALL AND OATES IS CALLED GOOD MUSIC😂😂😂
One can never go wrong with these guys and their music.
Agree 1000% Andrew :)
Had to check this out since this is the inspiration for methodman's name.
love this song, it's a shame the radio stations don't play this song and that they act like their final hit song was "Out Of Touch"
Really this song was a hit in the UK, And they played it last week on Absolute radio
Ikr! They're sooo out of touch
Doobie1975 - Clearly remember this song reaching the top 5 of the US single charts in early 1985.
It’s all just a dirty game man!
Blue eyed soul at its finest. It was in fact a jam back in the old days🙂
Oh Darly Hall, my fav. I wish I had been famous to have gotten a chance to get next to him
Daryl Hall had awesome vocals. The echo is crazy how it takes his vocals to another level...
He still does!❤
Nearly 61 Years of Age. Listen to Hall & Oates as often as possible. Still here in 2020.
Right on
This song was everything in the 80's. It still rocks now almost 40 years later!
Here again ❤
Hall & Oates - One of the underestimated in 80's.
one of my favorite hall and oats songs
RIP Tom T Bone Wolk
James Davis didn't know he died.
Yes he did many years ago
smh ,just listen 2 the words , & "HEED".!!
Hell yeah...this hit is still 🔥
Daryl killed this song with them vocals. Became a fan of this song around 2009 and I have to say that this is my favorite song Hall & Oates ever did. I know H&O had more well-known songs than this gem, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
No joke this sing came on at work (dental office) and I was feeling it thinking this song is bad ass! Lol! I'm old, oh well. The song made me smile 😊
My fave of theirs too. They are awesome in concert!
Awesome favorite of mine takes me back to my high school days
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RAPID TRANSIT DISTRICT, RTD. V
@TR Staaberelli They claim that "Maneater" is actually about New York City!
I was ten when this song came out and it really caught my attention and was as catchy as it is today!
You just cant help to move and groove to this
Freshman year of high school! I miss the 80's!
Same!! 😁
me too!
+Hereismytwocents2011 I was quite a bit younger but remember having the song in my head while I was at lunch in school one day.
me too music was great all music this shit today is a mess
High School Junior at the time. Agreed...I miss the 1980s.
it may not be their greatest hit, but its one of my favorites from them, love the soound
bvg83: this was a top 5 hit and a GOLD single... how is that not a HUGE hit???
This song just popped up in my head out of nowhere...I had to pull it up,listen to in & sing along...It still sounds good after all of these years..
I adore both of these guys. So sad what's happened to their friendship and brand. It's all about money, power, and positioning. We have the memories. Thank you guys
every thing they do is perfection
totally!! They need to get back together!!!
From late 1984, this song was awesome! Those were some great days, the eighties were fun, there was hardly any division and everyone seem to have a good time. The mullets were all over the place, I had one and thought it would stay forever! Please bring back those days!
80'S Forever!!
Love this song. I just realized that GE Smith who was on SNL was the guitarist of Hall and Oates. Mind blown!
