I'm not from the UK, never been there, but I got a feeling how it might look like from this video and Only fools and horses, loved that show when I was a kid :D probably a lot has changed with the look of Britain in 30-40 years, do you older guys have that same feeling about your cities/country now compared to then ?
You got that right Matteo!!!! I love 80s British music, it just gives me a feeling that I can't describe, but I can tell you this much, it's a good feeling :-) :-)
Theses tracks truly represented what the the 80’s was all about, there was so many things happening then. The beat and the artist singing to end off the track is beautiful.
I grew up in the 80's and surely wanted to visit London after experiencing the great music coming from there. I'm sure I missed out, because I truly doubt I'd experience the same vibe
This song was out at the time I met my husband Gareth & it takes me right back there. We were together for 34 yrs. I lost him in 2020 to cancer at 58 yrs. These 80's songs take me back to that special time. Love you Gar. Miss you love. ❤️❤️

Back in the day when you could only see this video on MTV we would all gather around the TV when it came on and get a big chuckle when Chris would do his little "razzamatazz" shuffle. 😂😂😂😂❤❤
I NEVER get tired of this song/video! I grew up in the 60s-70s and there was a lot of great music from then. But the 80s were a fantastic time to be alive!!
im from new zealand in those days you could go out with your friends 11 -15 boys and girls no on threatend you or tried to take you--when it got dark it was time to go home--and as a 11 year old there was no girls we were all boys------
Born in1970 and listened to 50s 60s music then the 80s. Not to knock the present generation off but I have not heard any music to grab my attention even techno music sounds good
It’s so strange..... growing up I thought they sounded so futuristic. Now that the future has become the past, I appreciate how damn 80’s this sounds. Love it!!!
For me, it's like the 80's lasted from about 1983 until 1993, musically speaking. Maybe my age has something to do with it, the phases of my life, but those years seem to go together as a set or have some common thread between them. Hall & Oates were tremendously popular in the 80's, but to me don't have an 80's sound at all. On the other hand Sting's "Fields of Gold" sounds totally 80's.
LOL 58 here. UA-cam seemed to think I the memories I guess. Im ok with it. I was making such bad choices when this song came out. LOLOLOL ohh the 80s did it really happen.
When I was a little kid in the 80s this song fascinated me...I loved neils voice and I liked his trenchcoat...they looked like the future to me... As an adult today when I hear this song it sounds like the 80s, the nostalgia this song brings me is unreal..and I am still fascinated by this song and this video.
I am 70 got all their songs on a USB pen plugged into my car sterio, play them at least once a week. Magic era even though I am a child of the 60's come to think of it the 70'd and 80's as well. My mates call me Mr Nostalga :-))))
Oh....YeS........I am from the NORTH.........EAST & WEST............GO NORTH.................................................................................................
I was born in 97 and I love it, it’s what music should be, most music today just don’t got the soul in em like they had back in those days, it was truly a different world
What unbelievable presence Chris Lowe has in the video without a word uttered... Brooding, deep thinking, observant, the quiet epitome of cool... And you know you love it when he lets loose a bit at 2:27. Mesmerizing, evocative of an emotion I can only feel that is beyond language.
It's the survivorship bias effect- you're less likely over time to even remember or have exposure to the bottom 50% of 80's songs. The 80's become less associated with the copious bad music from the 80's and more with the stuff people still want to listen to.
I came here after some Erasure. The two best gay pop duos imo. Lol. I'm not gay at all not that it matters bit the woman in domino dancing is a 10. Omg
These classics are often difficult to watch. I'm sure many of you, myself included, when you were younger had watched these videos with loved ones who are no longer here. Memories flooding back
Why is it that once you start listening to these fire 80's hits (no matter what musical genre it was 'cause they were all bangers), you end up binging on all 80's music for hours on UA-cam? Nothing and I mean straight up nothing will ever dominate the music, culture and fads of the 80's! So blessed to have lived and experienced the enlightening 80's. This 54 year old will always be an 80's child!
I was a young girl when I watched this video on TV for the first time. It impacted me so much that I knew one day would go and see the real London, and I did. I lived there for five years. Great learning experience for life
Same! This was my roller skating song in the '80's. I too moved to London in the mid 90's and I worked in a pub and I had to get off at Fulham station everyday and everyday, I'd get this song in my head. I miss London and the UK and I've been trying to get back there for so long!

I too play music scores to video in my mind, well, you were reflecting on what you experienced, not from your imagination .
Unfortunately I never took it further.
I'm not from the UK, never been there, but I got a feeling how it might look like from this video and Only fools and horses, loved that show when I was a kid :D probably a lot has changed with the look of Britain in 30-40 years, do you older guys have that same feeling about your cities/country now compared to then ?
I remember playing GTA V with the homies while driving my zentorno at night and this song playing, fucking amazing, wish i could repeat It

Thumbs up if you're an 80s child and prefer this era of music.
I'm an 80's adult 24-34 years old bach then.
I'm a lat 1950s child and I love this era of music along with a couple other eras.
I'm with ya, 11/2024
I'm a 2010s child but absolutely love 80s-90s music
i didn’t exist until 2008 but i still like this music 😅😅
Historic song!
'80's british pop music at its finest.

This song was out at the time I met my husband Gareth & it takes me right back there. We were together for 34 yrs. I lost him in 2020 to cancer at 58 yrs. These 80's songs take me back to that special time. Love you Gar. Miss you love. ❤️❤️
I’m very sorry for your loss!
I believe but can’t prove each of us, including Gareth, is an immortal spirit.

Thank you for sharing! I needed those words. You inspired me with renewed hope with something I'm dealing with. Thanks, and have a great life!
I'm so sorry 😞
Back in the day when you could only see this video on MTV we would all gather around the TV when it came on and get a big chuckle when Chris would do his little "razzamatazz" shuffle. 😂😂😂😂❤❤
I NEVER get tired of this song/video! I grew up in the 60s-70s and there was a lot of great music from then. But the 80s were a fantastic time to be alive!!
I could not agree more with you Nancy :)
I'd rather have been a teen than a baby! I'm jealous!
Today so called music is TOTAL DROSS.
im from new zealand in those days you could go out with your friends 11 -15 boys and girls no on threatend you or tried to take you--when it got dark it was time to go home--and as a 11 year old there was no girls we were all boys------
Born in1970 and listened to 50s 60s music then the 80s. Not to knock the present generation off but I have not heard any music to grab my attention even techno music sounds good
It’s so strange..... growing up I thought they sounded so futuristic. Now that the future has become the past, I appreciate how damn 80’s this sounds. Love it!!!
Ahead of its time
This 👆❤❤
I remember when they hit No.1 on Top of the Pops and I wasn't sure of the song at first, as it seemed so different from what was in the charts.
So much sweetness, soulfulness, a song hinting of alienation in society. Sometimes the newer music seems to have no soul.
The synthesizer was God's gift to man kind
First heard this on GTA...love it!!!

What about "Duran Duran - Hungry Like the Wolf" and "A Flock of Seagulls - I Ran"?

This song reminds me of a simpler time of being a kid in the 80s skateboards amd cassette tapes in my Walkman radio 😢
Sounds like a good place compared to now
There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.
like 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 and just what I needed by the cars
It's like you reached right in and plucked that comment right out of my head. Salute!
It’s one of the few 80s pop songs that does anything for me but this song never stops bringing me back to those days.
YES!
This beat is so sick. Man the memories.
HONESTLY !!!! there’s just something about the beat that sits so right with me
East coast rappers West coast rappers,,,,west coast rappers ,,bump bump bumpbump
Exactly. I remember when this tune came on the radio and loved it then. Now, even more!
Man, you're so right . Memories, memories and more memories.
This was house music before there was house music ..wish I could go back...I'd be in my early 20s!!!

I was born in 1988 and and even I can relate to what you said. Though give I was obviously introduced to 80's music in the 90'and 00's

Same! I was a teen, I miss😢 and loveee💜 the 80's so much!
Why are 80·s songs sounding better as each year passes
Weil es diese tolle Art von Songs nicht mehr gibt
It's the survivorship bias effect- you're less likely over time to even remember or have exposure to the bottom 50% of 80's songs. The 80's become less associated with the copious bad music from the 80's and more with the stuff people still want to listen to.
Because music sucks more and more every year now.
