Lyrics:
Easy lover
She'll get a hold on you believe it
Like no other
Before you know it you'll be on your knees
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just trying to make you see
She's the kind of girl you dream of
Dream of keeping hold of
You'd better forget it
You'll never get it
She will play around and leave you
Leave you and deceive you
Better forget it
Oh you'll regret it
Everything Phil Collins touched in the 80's was pure gold
Period every damn thang!! ❤❤❤ still love him!!
Easy Lover, Another Day In Paradise, Sussudio, and the track my parents had on repeat in the 80s...Invisible Touch! Great times. I need a time machine.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍
Ohhh yesssss ❤️❤️❤️
@@EtoTheKayI would need one too 😢
They should've made a whole album together. This is GOLD.
They did. Collins produced Bailey's solo album Chinese Wall (which includes "Easy Lover"). Collins played also drums on that album and the backing band consisted of Earth Wind and Fire (Phenix Horns) and Genesis/Collins live and studio (Daryl Stuermer) musicians.
@@landischorsch Whoa. I was a kid when this came out and my dad was a big EW&F and blasted anything with Philip Bailey on it
@@theblackpearlofbraavos Wow really. I come from the other side: I've been a Phil Collins fan since I was 11 years old, so this wonderful piece of music reached my radar very soon after. Sometime later, I learned to know Philip Bailey's album Chinese Wall and I thought it was a wonderful American/British collaboration. When I learned to love 1970s and 1980s soul/funk/R&B in my late teen years, EW&F came automatically across my ears and since the recent years I've thought All 'N All is my favorite EW&F album.
@@landischorsch that is way cool. Phil Collins and Genesis got play in my house growing up. Lots of funk and R&B, of course. There was all kinds of music playing in my house and feel pretty fortunate to have been exposed to so many different sounds.
Yeah baby so are you
Today, May 8, is Philip Bailey's birthday. Happy Birthday!!
People know Phil Collins as a successful singer.
People forget he's also a masterful drummer.
He definitely is!!!
With a voice like his, can you really blame us for that?
As a former drummer/guitarist I approve of this message! #timelessmusic
he plays piano too
It's funny because I remember him more as a drummer than as a singer 😅
Finally, Earth, Wind, and Fire found Water, being Phil Collins :)
He is an Aquarius after all 😂
the destroyer of the other three elements
Then should we call them the ELEMENTALS?
😂
This era of music.... boy... Never going to be replicated....

Hello l'm Calvin and One of the number one hit songs in the 1980's when l was just an little boy was by PhillipBailey, ad Phill Collins..Easy Lover,,,
I’ve had the privilege of seeing both Phil Collins (with Genesis) and Philip Bailey (with Earth, Wind & Fire) in concert this year. They’re both still getting entire stadiums full of fans on their feet.
I thought Phil Collins stopped touring due to health issues.
I never knew that's where Phillip came from!
今もコンサートで大観衆の前で歌ってるなんて最高ですね!本当にタフなアーティスト
@@andysozio8556not even close. He on a full tour his health hasn't been better. Don't believe those photos showing him old a decrepit in a wheel chair. He lost some feeling in one arm so he can only drum half the show.
Wow!
This song brings me back to 1984, riding my mongoose bike on my paper route, and jamming "easy lover" through my Sony Walkman headphones. Talk about a song taking you back!
I remember those times also very well , because I fell in love with my first husband while listening to "in the air tonight" and "Easy lover"!
This song makes me feel like i could teleport straight to the 80’s. Love it so much
I’m 71, don’t live in the past but have great memories of the Eighties!
Phillip Bailey and Phil Collins looked like they had so much fun making this video. This is true musicianship right here!
So great ant thanks just go and rock it's ok yea yea yea .............

@Phil Collins Thank you for the kind message! Hope you are doing good and holding up as well! Pretty sure you will be back on that stage in no time! Big fan of your music! Soundtrack of my youth! Look forward to hearing your latest work and seeing you rock out on that stage! Remember the Alamo and take care Mr. Collins! 👍
Just simply love it. 💋
The 80's were fun times to be a child growing up. Even though there were troubles around the world, it seemed like everything was alright. Phil Collins music takes me back there.

WELL SAID
@@vinerscott PC produced PB's solo album "Chinese Wall". He was a busy boy in the 1980s, working as drummer and producer for Eric Clapton, Frida, Howard Jones, Robert Plant and Philip Bailey!
Whoever suggested these two legends do a song together was a freaking genius. They complimented each other so darn well.
Philip Bailey asked Collins to sing one ballad on his album. Colin ended up producing the whole album + sang that song with baily. Really a awesome feature
Colins is such wide range talanted in terms of music, its insane
@@MrRennschnitzel Wow! Thanks for the story behind the song.
Phil is a great multi-talent indeed!
Happy and joyful. Damn.
I read that Phil Collins was going to produce this song sung by Philip Bailey but that when it came time to record the song Phil Collins had one idea on how the song should sound while Philip Bailey on the other hand had another completely different idea on how the song should sound. So Phil Collins said screw it and let's just do this song together. And that's how we ended up with this great duet.
should be Phil Collins' genius
I’ve been listening to this song since 1986 and I’m still here in 2024. Phil and Philip are truly iconic
Best duet in music history!
That voice. Philip Bailey’s high notes are the absolute best in R&B.

He said in an interview that he used practice singing like a woman that's how is voice get like that
@@jamesbondero5691 he actually said that he was mimicking the female singers that he loved and didn’t even know it was considered to be falsetto, until a teacher complimented his falsetto voice. But he had to be born with the four octave range he has in order to be able to sing that high. Especially with being able to sing such pure notes and with vibrato like he does when he sings falsetto. His voice is just gorgeous.

Does anyone know what does Phil say in the 0:00 - 0:10 part? It's a little bit difficult to understand British English 😅

2024 and still a HIT!!!
Wonderful chemistry between the two singers
Whoever put these two voices together was a genius.
Phil Collins put them together ! Earth, Wind & Fire played the Horns & Saxaphone on the GENISIS ( Abacab Album song "No Reply at All" ) Phillip Bailey was the LEAD Singer for Earth, Wind & Fire. That is how they met eachother !
Allah did not forbid music. This is a complete fabrication. There is no such ruling in the Holy Qur'an. Music is a wonderful gift from Allah to people. Those who want to discredit Islam fabricate such lies in the name of the Prophet Muhammad.

They should have made a whole album together.
They kinda did
Seeing as Collins Produced the album, played drums and contributed backing vocals I kinda think they did. Its called Chinese Wall.
Amazing collaboration! This is fantastic as good as the collaboration of Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson. I believe the first half of 80's is the most imaginative age of Phil Collins.
Chinese Wall
Walking on the Chinese Wall was the other single from it to chart in the UK. Phil had his third solo album No Jacket Required out at roughly the same time.
Listening to this song is like time traveling to the 80s. The good old time.

@@mondemysterieux7041 Would I have heard you on some particular songs? Where?
Yes their voices complement each other perfectly
This to me just embodies a lot of what you saw in the 80's; blacks and whites coming together and making cool tunes. Such a diverse decade. And I wish we had unusual people like Phil still being pop stars, there used to be a dominant quirkiness to music throughout the 80's, if you were to do any of that today you'd be considered weird or nerdy lol
no....you would be considered justin beibes or taylor crapface, cause nobody can write and play, & play original instruments like they used to, guess taylor plays piano....whoop-dee-do, so things "have" to sound so different and poppy with new sounds & try 2 evolve, but it doesn't need too, and it sucks....and your kinda hot...
I think there used to be more spontaneity to making good music in the '80s : ) whereas today everything just seems over-manufactured : (
Just saying the same thing to my wife the 80s were sooooooo diverse music was crossing over all over the place there was no white music or black music. What happened?????

Featuring Phil Bailey who was in earth, wind, and fire 🔥 😍
A brilliant 80s duet
I’m shocked at how much musical talent Phil Collins has. He can play several instruments, he writes music, he reads music, he writes lyrics, he obviously sings, he’s absolutely incredible and his voice is so distinct from other male vocalists.
Shocked?
He's one of the greatest drummers of the last 50+ years. At one point, he was the lead singer and drummer of Genesis, he was also the drummer of the jazz fusion prog band Brand X, and he was working on his first solo album in which he played ALL the instruments, all at the same time. He invented the gated reverb drum sound on Peter Gabriel's Melt album on the song Intruder, which he then also used on his own mega hit In the Air Tonight, Genesis' Mama etc.
In the 80s He PRODUCED and played drums in between Genesis and his solo albums and tours for Eric Clapton, the Abba singer Frida, Robert Plant, this one for Philip Bailey of course, and many other artists. He played in the Secret Policeman's Ball concerts, the Princes Trusts Concerts, at Live Aid in 85 where he played in England and the US on the same day, playing drums and singing with multiple artists (Sting, Led Zep, his solo sets). He played in multiple Knebworths.
He was the most dominant, busy and successful artist of the 80s for sure, he was all over the place, movie soundtracks (Against All Odds), later the Disney films. Truly a nonstop workaholic.
@@kbrewski1 ...and, he is left-handed and plays a left-handed kit.
@ShikataGaNai100
True. Which is why his long time drum mate Chester Thompson is always on his right, and Chester is a righty.
He also learned to play drums while on set as a child actor. He found that taller boys would get the lead parts, leaving him with sidekick parts, he wanted more and playing the drums got him the stage he dreamed of
I want my 80s back !!!!
You get it every time you listen to this sort of art

One of the things about British pop stars is that they valued black r&b music and artists. Chaka Khan and Stevie Winwood, Eric Clapton and Babyface, Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney, etc. They had a lot if soul too.
bkny ny Beatles and Billy Preston, one of the lucky few that got to play and record with the Beatles in the Studio Recordings especially the Let It Be album.
ABC and Spandau Ballet come to mind regarding this statement. ABC had their Smokey Robinson tribute hit "When Smokey Sings," with mentions of Luther Vandross, Sly and the Family Stone, and Marvin Gaye. Spandau Ballet's biggest hit "True" had a reference to Marvin Gaye (Listening to Marvin, all night long)
Whoops, forgot that James Brown was also mentioned on "When Smokey Sings"
George Michael grew up on it and had a ton of respect for the musicians.

@C J Ya just can't beat that good old Blue Eyed Soul
I remembered this song last night and how things would have been between me and the man who called me his "Easy Lover" so long ago, and my heart ached! It ached for the love that we could have shared, the kids that we could have had, the life that we could have built. I looked for him on Facebook and found him. When I saw the girl he married I was not surprised. He married someone who resembles me, and I can bet that he thought about me more than once while being with her because we are the same ethnicity (Hispanic), the same coloring, similar features, etc., but I KNOW that he didn't find in her what he found in me. I know it because there is only one of me. He was very special to me too, but our timing was off. That said, I am happy that we had the time that we had, that he told me how he felt and that in my heart and in his, I will forever be his easy lover. . . 💋💋💋❣❣❣

I’m SO glad no one has tried to ruin this song with a remake!
can't remake perfection and total harmony like this...
Well said
When I’m drunk, I tend to ruin it with a remake.
I'm gonna tell DJ Khaled what you said 😈

The joys of our youth!
11:40 I absolutely love how they have the track playing but also you can hear the live parts from the video. At one point shortly after this, I swear you can actually hear live instruments layered over the audio track while they're on stage. This video is almost 4th wall breaking, it's amazing!!
This is epic.
Savage. Nothing can compare the 80's....nothing.
Shawty dance while I diss you to the beat
Even I like Phil Collins i have to say, the 70s were better
I agree I do love the 80s...but the 90s were 🔥🔥🔥🔥
90s - “hold my beer”
Agree my brother!🤗
As a side note, the band is killer in this song too. That bassline with the pocket drumming, perfection
I loved this ever since I heard it for the first time, way back in 1985... and still love it! The song is just perfect! Plus no other song gives you so much energy straight away and make you feel good.
True! That's phil Collins on drums, hes a damn good drummer. I'm a pro drummer myself, I grew up to this stuff as a kid in the 80s'. I'm a metal head but I like all kinds of rock.

The Bass guitarist is Nathan East.
1984 - the year of my birth. I love this song! Long live 80’s! Serbia loves you!
This is a perfect pop song. The production value is insanely good.
Philip Bailey's voice is pure gold.
Phillip Bailey and Phill Collins = The Dream Team
For sure luv this video
This is so real even today in 2024
Again, the drum sound is amazing. That snare
Phil Collins looks like the happiest Walmart employee ever in this video.
Hahahahah yes
LOL.Uncanny.
He also reminds me of a grown up prince george
😁
Couldn't agree any more
