I lived in Sag Harbor for a year 2003-2004 while working as an au pair... was the most wonderful experience ever! Even took the children to Goat on a Boat! Glad to see it's still going on! I attended many productions at the Bay Street Theatre, what a wonderful place!

I gre up in the village of Sag harbor during the 60's and early 70's. Graduated Pierson in 1971 My family owned and ran the restaurant at the foot of the bridge. Lots of cool memories. Joh steinbeck used to eat at the restaurant.

Loved this tour of the "Unhampton" Hampton town. I have only been once, but after watching this will add to our list of things in New York State worth another looks, thanks to Tom Delgado. Happy to be one of your Patrons. But I think you need an REI gift card to get some decent gloves or at least glove liners for those damp NYC winter days. Great video. Kudos to your camerawoman, too!

Loved the video, thanks for branching out of New York and going to an area that we don't get to see much. It was a very interesting history lesson.

Happened on this today, I have been in NC since 1985, but I grew up in Sag Harbor. The cemetery that your video started in was often a place where local elementary students went to to charcoal sketches and the house, more recently painted, I also felt was creepy and haunted. It was so nice to watch you walk areas that I always rode my bike around. Sag Harbor was a wonderful place to grow up and I never realized how special it was there until I moved, sweet and quaint. Thank you ❤️

My mother-in-law lives in East Hampton Village! And a cousin lives in Springs alongside a childhood friend of my husband’s. Parts of it can be “somewhat“ affordable. My mother-in-law’s family lived in East Hampton when it only had “those summer people” that no one liked or paid attention to.😆

Ooohhhh so sad that Sag Harbor is officially The Hamptons. STOP CALLING IT THAT! 🤪 11 generations of my mom's family grew up here. I used to spend all my summers as a kid there with my aunt and uncle. So odd to see it's been taken over by the elites. I know it's been forever, but my memories from childhood are still very alive in my head. 💗💖

Love seeing the Gustavino ceiling in the John Germaine Library (I've probably misspelled its name). Gustavino traveled to my area of the country (Western North Carolina) to work on the Biltmore House. But he stayed in the area, and set up a major tile and brick-making outfit. He remained here for the rest of his working life, more or less. The vaulted ceiling that you see in the library is very much like (same tile, same application) of the dome of the church, in Asheville, NC which he built (St. Lawrence's Basilica), and in which he is actually buried. The church's vaulted celling was the largest ovular dome in the country---built entirely without steel--until the era of big sports arenas. It also contains some outstanding spiral staircases in the towers that are also built without a steel skeleton of any sort. So it is interesting to see his work in Sag Harbor. I bet the tiles came from here. Keith Green

Well isn't this a lovely coincidence? I was there on a little mini R&R escape for three nights just before Christmas. It is such a lovely town, but I am quite biased towards the Atlantic side from a natural beauty POV. I just love the waves and beach. The best time I had was exploring Georgica Beach with practically no one there.
I also spent a couple nights in Montauk over Thanksgiving, and I think I'll definitely be planning more off-season trips there in the future. Much more relaxed vibe than the Hamptons, cool little village, amazing beaches, and the area around the lighthouse is fantastic for hiking and exploring.

Great tour. Now many of those cottages in Sag Harbor cost millions to buy. I really miss the old Bridgehampton Raceway, which was in Sag Harbor but closed in the late 90s to make way for some god-awful golf course, which caused an uproar in the community because the fertilizer used to keep up the golf course was running into and polluting the local waters. Great track to drive and used to hold SCCA sportscar, Can-Am and World Sports Car racing and included drivers such as Mario Andretti, Mark Donahue, Parnelli Jones, George Fullmer and others.

My great great grandfather was a Whaling captain out of Sag Harbour in the early 1800s. Because he would be gone for over a year at a time, he gave his lawyer "Power of Attorney" to take care of all his investments and bills. One year he sailed back home after being gone almost 2 years, and he found his lawyer had Sold ALL his investments (including his home, his ship, and a city block he owned in Manhattan) and skipped town with all the money. My great great grandfather lost EVERYTHING and never did find the lawyer that ripped him off. He later died a pauper, very sad story..
