When I got back into cards in 2020 I decided to collect Payton Pritchard and Tom Brady. He is one of the best ball handlers in the league and rarely turns the ball over. Hope he enters 3 point contest this year.
Celts have been killing it in the draft. Brad didn't miss a beat after Danny A left. I think last year's 1st round Jordan Walsh is going to be a solid player.
Walsh was Cs 1st (and only) pick, but in the 2nd round, around 53rd. For that he really seems solid since half the players in the 50s don't make it in the league.
The scary part is that Brad Stevens know how to turn an undersized scorer into a top 5 MVP candidate. Not saying Payton will reach those heights but the C's has the system to allow him to be an absolute flame thrower.
Same predicament IT was in as well. A bunch of good defenders surrounding him, only this time he can actually hold his own and hit 30 foot+ bombs on the regular🔥
I remember when he came into the league and his shooting was inconsistent but I could tell immediately how good he was. Never turns the ball over, amazing control on his handle, sneaky food rebounder and defender too
Payton is the man.. Those charts you showed at the 7:35 mark show 5 Boston players on Offensive Rating Top 10.. Sam Hauser is #8 on that list AND #8 on the Defensive Rating Top 10.. I think it's safe to safe that Hauser has been putting in the work too. Great video by the way! Definitely just subscribed
Love Pritchard - he’s reminiscent of smaller guards we’ve had in the past (IT, Kyrie, Kemba), but instead of being tasked as the lead pg he’s a spark plug off the bench.
Pritchard is the right player on the best team at the right time. With Tatum and JB entering their extraordinary prime 11:17 . Not only will he be arguably a top 5 player eventually, but a true champion for future players.
Pritchard was never suddenly good. He was always good. The Celtics just never gave him minutes until he started to threaten to request a trade from the team
You're right that he's always been good. But it's not just on the Cs coaching/mgmt. they and we all knew he was a gamer, from early in his rookie season. his issue was that he was inconsistent in short stints. It kept him from getting more run from the coach, and kept management concerned about the guard rotation and adding dudes. Last year they gave him the 3rd guard role (and moved Jayen out of the position pretty much altogether). This year, his confidence is insane.
part of the reason for his slowed rise is that former Cs coach Ime Udoka didn't really understand his value - he went from someone rising up the rotation with Brad, to a beach warmer. since Joe M. got the job, Pritchard's stock and place on the rotation has only risen.
He didn’t play a lot with ime because ime was defensive first and we had a lot of defensive oriented guards. Ime doing the same thing to Shepard lol in Houston it is what it is Payton was also never as good as he is now he is truly ELITE now maybe the dnps gave him even more motivation lmao especially on the defensive end if you don’t play defence here you’re not getting playing time lol, this ain’t the lakers.
If he doesn't win sixth man of the year, something is terribly wrong. He's our modern John Havlichek. I hope he plays his entire career here, but he's worth 4X what he's paid.
His defense is super slept on too just cuz he's small. But he gives the effort of an elite defender on that side of the ball and gets tons of hustle rebounds.
He's so strong, and uses his low stance to bully his way to the rim, even against really good defenders. He's not just a catch and shoot type of guy like most good shooters on the bench.
pritchard is as good as the best version of celtics kemba. that kemba team was pretty competitive with an offensively limited smart, and younger jays. even when jrue and horford age out, and porzingis maybe leaves, the core of white, pritchard and the jays will be pretty good.
I always considered The Jays and White as the real core, but you're right, Payton has worked himself into a core player. He's not just a dime a dozen 3pt specialist, he does it all. I think when the new ownership comes in KP and Jrue are likely getting traded after this season to dump salary and primo draft capital. If they win the chip this year, maaaybe they eat the 2nd apron tax for one more season. They really need 2 out of Scheierman, Davison, Walsh, and/or Watson to pan out as legit rotation players, then they'll be golden. Scheierman has that Payton kind of competitive fire, I have little doubt about him.
Hauser too though he's not on level after that injury. Don't know what up. But Jays, DW, PP and Hauser a pretty good company, need a good big, but, yes, KP not sure how long we'll have him. I didn't believe that bad teammate saying but didn't know he'll be that cool

I remember reading articles that Pritchard wasn't happy with his playing time under Brad Stevens and was considering asking for a trade. So I am quite happy that Celtics gave him the opportunity to shine
His very first game in the NBA, no, summer league game, the first time I saw himd held that ball and controlled the pace which slowed the game down making the offense much better, I knew he was different.
Hoping for 6th man of the year for him. You do have to mention that he probably went to the best possible place for his talents. If he was drafted by many other teams he probably would not have made it due to lack of size. Boston helped develop him and they had such crazy leads especially last season he was able to get a ton of burn in games showcasing his value.
Last year I was super into the cards and I saw Prichard get 27 points in the pre season I liked the way he played and got his rookie card my dad asked me if I was sure to get him I still said yes and just look at him now
Three nights later he scores 29 on 7-11 3 pt shooting tying a record 19 4th quarter points. But that's not all he was rebounding, passing, and defending like an all star. East coast Curry
Consider when Brad Stevens extended him, it was after a season when his minutes were down, his 3pt percentage was considerably down, barely used in the playoffs and it seemed he took a big step back. Stevens is the best GM in the NBA.
I knew Ime Oduka was never coming back when Stevens offered Pritchard that contract. Oduka did not like Pritchard's game. He had 34DNPCDs in 2022-23. When Ime was suspended in September and Payton's contract was extended in October, it was pretty obvious what plans were in store for both.
I dont care if Payton averaged 5 points a game...Just the way he plays the game is contagious....He is a workhorse and you need guys like that on your team..That is one guy I am glad the Cs didn't trade
Only way I see him getting 6th man is if he adds 3 turnovers a game. At 3 turnovers per game with that scoring efficiency, he's a defensive plus and weapon!
The key here for Boston is can Prichard run this team without white being on it. White and porzingus are going to have to go to drop below the cap. I think to land jru they told him wink wink he would not be traded but new ownership is coming. Prichard is going to have to run this team for atleast 1 year so they can get below the cap and I see jru coming off and playing the 6 man role as he turns 36, 37.
LMFAOOOO, jrue holiday is not being prioritized over derrick white are you high? LOL you cant be a Celtics fan because nobody else thinks this. Jrue is old asl there is no wink wink he was traded here, he wanted to come here because Boston was the best team out there lmao stop it. If two players in the starting line up are no longer going to be on the team it’s going to be KP and Jrue Holiday. JT, JB, and Derrick White is the core here everybody knows that jrue is the 5th option, barely touches the ball, and is older, in what world do you think white would be gone before holiday for cap reasons lmao makes literally no sense. KP would be next because he just isn’t reliable unfortunately with his height. Boom problem solved lol. Bro wants to keep a 36 year old jrue holiday over derrick white in his prime when derrick white is ALREADY better like how sway?
With PP and Hauser off the bench and a possible Baylor Scheierman coming up from the Maine team, the 3pt. shooting should be okay. The only problems could be injuries. Hope I didn't jinx them here.

His very first game in the NBA, no, summer league game, the first time I saw himd held that ball and controlled the pace which slowed the game down making the offense much better, I knew he was different.
The bulls game💀
The Caleb Swanigan comp was WILD...dude is dead, wtf was that about ? LMAO
I can’t believe Brad got him to take that contract extension lol
Hoping for 6th man of the year for him. You do have to mention that he probably went to the best possible place for his talents. If he was drafted by many other teams he probably would not have made it due to lack of size. Boston helped develop him and they had such crazy leads especially last season he was able to get a ton of burn in games showcasing his value.
Last year I was super into the cards and I saw Prichard get 27 points in the pre season I liked the way he played and got his rookie card my dad asked me if I was sure to get him I still said yes and just look at him now
He’s a pure hooper fr
The only two people to hold Pritchard under double figures are Ime Oduka and Joe Mazzulla.
well tbf to mazzulla, he eventually figured it out
Modern John Paxon who was known for canning long range jumpers at key moments to cut off opponents momentum. Especially in the playoffs.
He is so much fun to watch.
Bruh Pritchard is so dangerous now 😂. I heard other fans talk about how they want to injure him. 😂
PP 6th man of the year! Love watching him play on the C’s !!
Payton Pritchard aka the flying squirrel 🐿️
"you gotta go up against Payton full court...😏"
Three nights later he scores 29 on 7-11 3 pt shooting tying a record 19 4th quarter points. But that's not all he was rebounding, passing, and defending like an all star. East coast Curry
He does have a midrange jumper. Tends to once or twice a game , stop and shoot or fade
He's an absolute dawg
He isnt the key to our offense, but he is certainly the key to our second unit
Payton “Human Tourch” Pritchard!
Pro Am P! 🔥🔥🔥
My guys a special teams nba player 😂
Reminds me of Mark Price.
yes, i fully agree
He’s known for perimeter shooting but man when he gets in the restricted area it’s an easy 2 every time
DEADLY.
We should call him The little Big Guy
He would be starting face of some organizations
I dont care if Payton averaged 5 points a game...Just the way he plays the game is contagious....He is a workhorse and you need guys like that on your team..That is one guy I am glad the Cs didn't trade
Only way I see him getting 6th man is if he adds 3 turnovers a game. At 3 turnovers per game with that scoring efficiency, he's a defensive plus and weapon!
Cs were smart to extend his contract
Ppl gonna be makin them Pritchard builds on 2k... Oh wait... They already do lol.
damn ur videos are nice
thanks bro!
He's the most under paid player in the NBA
Bro got 2 rings this year and took it to another level. Championship ring and wedding ring (Blake Griffin officiated it lmao)
too bad we got him so late in his career - the love was real with blake.
