For me, I would have done everything I could to drop the needed weight just so I could guarantee myself to be a millionaire and be financially secure for the rest of my life. If his weight is his biggest strength then no team should be taking a chance on him. His skills should be standing out not his weight. Get rid of the weight. At best he will be another baby davis at worst he will be another future bust like zion williamson.
What I've come to realize over the years is that usually, most guys that are top to bottom true NBA players stick in the league. Not just guys that are talented hoopers. Some guys just have poor work ethic and bad discipline. Some are just too limited in what they're good at to justify keeping a roster spot. A lot goes into who teams decide to sign and spend millions on. It takes more than being just skilled, as crazy as that might sound.
weight is POWER, if he loses weight he loses POWER which is very problematic for a powerful bully ball player. There is nothing hard to understand here...
@@aubinaps1427 yeah but he can lose some of the weight. 260 or 270 LBS at 6-6 makes you a bowling ball. If he can shed 30-40LBS of fat or just replace it with some more muscle he could definitely improve! he doesn't need to be 300+
Hes definitely slept on... his style is too intimidating in this NBA league. Hes got that oldschool toughness with that swag. He'd be an asset in a place like denver or golden state.
i've watched hin in summer league games for jazz. offensively he can do his exploits so in some schemas he can easily be a go-to guy, but defensively he was always guarding too far on 1-1 and anyone with some shooting skills were making easy 3s on him, and when he was trying to guard closer, they ran around him. so yeah, in nba he would be a big liability defensively. still, i'd waste a spot for him as a rotation guy, that can be used in certain situations
The thing that sucks about being that tall is that you’re weight is distributed but your joints still take a pounding because, in case no one else knew, Wemby is still pushing 240 pounds. Yes he can get bigger but those knees can only take so much, no diddy.
Here's a thought: if your NBA team can't get their threes to drop on a given night, instead of just accepting an L, how about putting this guy in off the bench to mix things up and perhaps try to win another way? As an bonus, I guarantee he'd be a fan favorite because people get tired of teams shooting 50 threes a night with no playmaking.
i think its just his playstyle that really stopped him from playing in the nba. you are right on the point. people here saying he deserves a spot, but in reality numbers arent everything. a players playstyle is just as important
It's unfortunate that the NBA pivoted away from his style of play. Especially considering how efficient he can be. The game just isn't played in the paint anymore.
overweight? isnt that the normal weight there in america? lol kidding aside, lofton is a very good player, i dont understand why NBA teams dont want him.
There’s teams that could use him right now currently off the top of my head the Nuggets need a guy off the bench that can back up Jokic and he provides scoring, The Heat need a bit more scoring off the bench cuz Rozier is on and off
I have always rooted for this man, as he truly is unique and different. One thing that wasn't emphasised enough in this video however, was Lofton Jr. being truly an atrocius defender. He's just way too slow to actually quard anyone.
Yeah… would you rather a 6’6” post-player taking up a big-man spot… or a 6’10” diesel rebounder supporting your scorers? You can’t play him at SF if he can’t shoot the 3. Love watching him play, buuuut he’s gotta adapt to the NBA. His weight fluctuation in this video is crazy to see. I’m sure it’s hard for him. He’ll be a star in China tho.
To be clear, the reason Kenny was dropped by so many teams in a short period of time wasn't his performance on the court - the dude was reportedly missing practices and was otherwise pretty emotionally immature. His game was fine but he made it hard for teams to rely on him, the guy still needs some time to learn to become a pro. Hoping that his China stint helps him grow a bit, I think he'll get another shot down the line.
Bro you need to check your audio levels. There are things called compressors and limiters, loudness meters... post-production type stuff to master your audio. Your recorded voice audio fluctuates in its levels and then it's quite a bit softer and muffled, lacking the higher frequencies than the audio from clips. Tthere are fixes for all that. Just an FYI man.
Western rival should definitely have him ready for the playoffs for a Spurs/OKC matchup insurance plan … the backup center for the Cavs core run? … he’s a shooter and can weigh heavy on opposing players in limit run sustainably, spot starter backup center spark plug for the right price and role he’s a nba player

he already has what euroleague need, physical and post up game. Good suggestion. He doesn't fit today nba, all they search for is 7 foot dunkers with hundles and 3ball shooting guards
The teams see him as risky because at that weight it's only a matter of time before he gets a serious injury. Too bad he isn't motivated to drop weight. I says this as a heavy guy myself.
He'll put ppl in the seats for sure! Hope he gets signed
*Ngl 2057 happened a while back anyone here in 3057?*
to save you some time, the answer is pretty boring and unspectacular. He's playing in China.
Great episode 🎉
And why Mac is not in Nba?
Great vid. Will be a sad chapter in the league's history. The politics is starting to show. Need expansion teams to break the mold.
I wish his hometown team (I know he’s from beamount) Houston rockets would pick him up
He's got a prototypical power forward game that is just not seen in today's league anymore.
great vid breh
really well made video, love dit
If he loses weight, he can be 4.simple
weight is POWER, if he loses weight he loses POWER which is very problematic for a powerful bully ball player. There is nothing hard to understand here...
@@aubinaps1427 yeah but he can lose some of the weight. 260 or 270 LBS at 6-6 makes you a bowling ball. If he can shed 30-40LBS of fat or just replace it with some more muscle he could definitely improve! he doesn't need to be 300+
That's how Charles Barkley battle with the giants in the post despite his shorter frame, he used his low center, width and strength
Hes definitely slept on... his style is too intimidating in this NBA league. Hes got that oldschool toughness with that swag. He'd be an asset in a place like denver or golden state.
They wonder why every team plays same way, maybe because the nba pushes any low post player out the league
The problem is he needs a team that fits his play style in the NBA, and none do right now, his play style doesn’t seem bad, he’s dam efficient tbh.
He just dropped 30pts 11rbs n 8 assists 3 days ago. He plays with Eric Bledsoe. Hes Balling!!!
Drew Bledsoe?? He’s an old quarterback bruh 😂😂😂😂 ERIC BLEDSOE
@ word
just checked his stats and today he put up 35-11-6 on 14-17 shooting
Played for Grizzlies , 76ers , Jazz and Bulls and got wavied. Currently playing at Shanghai Shark. You are welcomed.
It's crazy Lofton's caliber is not in NBA. Life is unfair.
Mbape
KLJ such a fun player to watch play, IQ like the joker but underrated because his size and figure, shame to let that diminish his game
i've watched hin in summer league games for jazz. offensively he can do his exploits so in some schemas he can easily be a go-to guy, but defensively he was always guarding too far on 1-1 and anyone with some shooting skills were making easy 3s on him, and when he was trying to guard closer, they ran around him. so yeah, in nba he would be a big liability defensively. still, i'd waste a spot for him as a rotation guy, that can be used in certain situations
Playing in Shanghai sharks dropping over 25 points the other night against Zhejiang golden bulls.
Once wemby becomes a problem theyll call him
I love KLJs game. I wish he would get some playing time and opportunity
if only Zion had the same hunger as this guy
Fun fact: 97% of viewers of this video found themselves thinking of Bronny James' undeserved contract. 100% of said viewers were sickened by this.
I"ve been following Lofton for a long time. It's a shame NBA doesn't pick him up. His game is so fun to watch.
Jeremy Linn said problem with NBA is you have to “look the part.” Helps to be from the right family also it appears.
350lbs? Shaq hold my donut
Great video
Ge definitely deserves to be in the NBA!
Memphis should have swallowed their pride after he scored 40 and used him in their playoffs, brings to mind Jeremy Lin's success cut short
I like Kenny Lofton. 👍🏿
One of my favorite players, he needs to be in the NBA NO EXCUSES
It's unfortunate that the NBA pivoted away from his style of play. Especially considering how efficient he can be. The game just isn't played in the paint anymore.
i miss seeing him play. we need players like him in the league.
overweight? isnt that the normal weight there in america? lol kidding aside, lofton is a very good player, i dont understand why NBA teams dont want him.
In texas, we’d call him skinny
Because basketball is not a sport in the NBA. It's entertainment and he's not marketable. Which is of course ridiculous but that's the sad reality.
Baby Shaq. It’s crazy how small 350 looks at 6’6” when there’s two 7 footers on the court
Dude played in the NBA and already made at least 5 mill during that time. I mean, he's doing better than 99.99% of all of us.
There’s teams that could use him right now currently off the top of my head the Nuggets need a guy off the bench that can back up Jokic and he provides scoring, The Heat need a bit more scoring off the bench cuz Rozier is on and off
As a Nuggets fan, I was thinking exactly this. He sounds like a PF/C for the Nuggets' bench.
I have always rooted for this man, as he truly is unique and different.
One thing that wasn't emphasised enough in this video however, was Lofton Jr. being truly an atrocius defender. He's just way too slow to actually quard anyone.
5000 players in all of nba history and y’all acting like he deserves a spot and they owe him a chance to play.
He’ll be a star in China tho.
he clearly has the talent to play there though, didn't the highlights clear that up for you?
Title is hilarious😭
To be clear, the reason Kenny was dropped by so many teams in a short period of time wasn't his performance on the court - the dude was reportedly missing practices and was otherwise pretty emotionally immature. His game was fine but he made it hard for teams to rely on him, the guy still needs some time to learn to become a pro. Hoping that his China stint helps him grow a bit, I think he'll get another shot down the line.
The Grizzlies have been REALLY good at drafting and developing young players. If they let him go it's gotta be something they really don't like.
wemby was by far THE best player on the court finishing with 22 points 8 rebounds and 8 blocks. 2 years younger than everyone else idk if we realize
This is truly insane.
40POINTS IN HIS FIRST NBA START ? AND NO ONE SIGNS HIM ?!?! thats so tragic and sad
… he’s a shooter and can weigh heavy on opposing players in limit run sustainably, spot starter backup center spark plug for the right price and role he’s a nba player
this proved size and post-playing still matters
