I find that it’s important to have some packaged snacks that are healthy options available in case of emergencies. I try to not snack too much on Whole30, but I’m human-life happens and sometimes I’m too busy! What’s your favorite healthy packaged snack?
This is just realistic. Sometimes you are at an airport or a strange location and something fresh isn't available. Knowing what to look for in packaged goods is super valuable!
I am true believer that we are what we eat and it has a toll on our minds, body, moods and our whole fuel machine unfortunately the country does not doing very much because the cost of healthy foods are ridiculous for all to really keep up with it
Thank you having this video. One challenge I have and would love to see a video on is whole 30 mini meals or snacks when you are active, so basically a pre and post work out snack.
Thanks Allysia😉i usually carry a banana ,apple, pack of raisins and some granola but obviously theres more out there😃Good to see we have more options👍.Awesome video want to eat these cute little treats😊💖
This is fantastic! I’m not much of a snacker, but I’m nearing the end my first round of Whole30 and I’ll technically be done with my 30 days right before an international trip. I obviously don’t want to dive right into eating like I was before, so these are great ideas for food I can pack on the plane and in my suitcase!
Hi Alyssia, it'd be a great idea to make a video, for example the educational format sort of video, talking about Whole30, similar to what you did with keto and low carb. I personally don't know exactly what it is, and since you have tons of content on Whole30 available, it'd be nice to gain some new knowledge :) BTW I remember waaay back when you did the protein bars video and you just hated the Lärabars 😂😂😂
This is super helpful as I like to find low/no sugar snacks for my preschooler, & for me too. I use the Epic liver and beef bites daily for a dose of liver. It’s the only way I can get the liver down.
@@MindOverMunch I like to think of it as giving into your inner toddler. You have a two-year-old who really wants a cupcake. He's screaming and crying and for a moment, you actually think your neighbor is going to call CPS on you for abusing your kid, but you stand your ground... for a while. Eventually, you give him a gluten-free, no sugar added banana muffin. He's only 2. He thinks he got a cupcake, so he stops crying. And now he thinks that throwing a tantrum will get him what he wants even though he didn't ACTUALLY get it.
My husband and I are starting our first whole 30 next week and while I get the point is to not snack... let's be realistic! I will keep a few things on hand for really "hard" days but not make a habit of it. We already eat very clean but I do tend to eat smaller portions at meals so eating a more filling meal is going to be a challenge at the beginning. Thank you, more whole 30 recipes please!! :)
I've thought about doing whole30 (light on the meat) but as a college student I can't really spend more than $150 for two people on food - is that possible? Can we see a whole30 affordable meal plan - like for two people at $30-50 a week?
whole30 is a program that helps people find their perfect diet. It's "paleo" based and focuses on whole foods. For 30 days, you eliminate dairy, added sugar, legumes, gluten and grains. At the end of the 30 days you reintroduce each category to see how your body responds :) whole30.com has a ton of info if you want more!
Chips are something that does not have good alternatives, IMO. If I was gonna eat chips, they were gonna be doritos or lays, but none of that baked stuff because it is just not the same. If I was gonna cheat, I wanted the real thing. HOWEVER, pork rinds have really helped this craving. I started buying pork belly from the butcher (and then cure & smoke it to make bacon), which comes with the skin on it. This mostly started because I didn't want to waste food, but WOW homemade pork rinds are TASTY.
I ordered some of your recommended bars online, trusting your word. These Laerabars and RXBars are SUPER HIGH ON CARBS! How can you recommend such a thing for a whole30?
Joseph Arpino yes it is hard because you can’t eat any grains ( Oats, Rice, etc) and legumes like beans. Vegans are not recommended because they lose the beans which is their only source of protein.
this is true! There are many whole30 compatible snacks though (associated with the whole30 brand) as sometimes they're needed on the go, etc. but yes, in general, it's advised to focus on full means and less snacking!
Winner of a video, I have been researching "paleo snacks whole foods" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Diyarter Benaylee Cure - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate got great success with it.
Winner of a video, been searching for "paleo snack bites" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Diyarter Benaylee Cure - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my cousin got amazing results with it.
less processed foods are encouraged, but emergencies happen so it's better to be prepared! Not all larabars are whole30 compliant but there are a few flavors that are!
I love this channel, but this sort of thing is why everyone is jumping ship from whole30. You’re not supposed to be eating prepackaged stuff on whole30. It’s just 30 days and it’s meant to change the way you cook and think about food and eating. This perverts the program so that there’s no point anymore. Not a criticism of you, as you obv didn’t make these things. You’re just telling us about them. But whole30 is pointless at this rate because of these products.
Did you watch the beginning of the video? I acknowledge that the focus of whole30 is eating whole foods and avoiding processed foods, and this is about being prepared for emergencies when they pop up. Melissa Hartwig herself is an advocate of having snacks available, which is why the Whole30 brand has partnered with so many of the brands I shared in this video.
Mind Over Munch I did see that, and I understand your perspective. But as someone that did 5 rounds before the program got adulterated (particularly by Melissa herself by pairing with all these companies), I wish people would do the program as it was originally intended. Using these products goes against what the program is based on. Melissa is more interested in profit at this point than helping people, which is why so many popular supporters are jumping ship and distancing themselves from the brand.

I second this! Mine normally involves a fruit or vegy and nut butter but I'd love more options!

oh nice idea!
I actually really enjoy baby snacks usually they are vegan and the fruit melts are my favorite
They've actually recently updated the program to exclude chips, even if made with compliant ingredients.
I get it! SWYPO :)

That actually sounds like something that might be useful to me since I seem to have food allergies but don't know which ones I have. Thank you☺

You always have great videos
Can vegetarians do whole30?

darkessraven ok thanks
you can't do whole30 without meat, but they do have a "vegetarian" reset available on the whole30 website.
Just eat pizza 🍕 on the go
more snack videos!
Kickstart is and unhealthy delicious drink, that I will consume once in awhile during 2019
Fooodddddddd

Haha its soo strange seeing only 30 likes 😂
First, and I love youuuuy❤
Hey Alyssia are you a dietician or something?
Robin no she just likes to teach people how to eat.
I am not! I'm a self-taught nutrition enthusiast.
