Hey!! Thank you so much We won’t have power for a few days & lost quite a few trees but we are all ok ❤️ My neighbours car… not so much. The storm is pretty much over now. ❤️
Hi Susie love the curly plant! Thank you for such a thorough explanation of co-washing. I have learned so much from your videos. I tend to be an impatient curly gurl!! LoL and like you, don’t always take the time to scrub my scalp. It made such sense when you took a guess at why at times your scalp is itchy or flakey. Thank you for your devotion to us curlies!! Best to you and yours!!
Thanks for the video Susie! I have followed your channel for 2 years and have continued to appreciate your simple, honest advice for hair care. I have fine to medium texture, medium to thick density 2b/2c hair and have been embracing my gradual transition from dark blond to silver. I have never co-washed just with conditioner (only lo-poo or co-wash products) but I am inspired to try. My hair loses moisture and definition by the end of day 2 and I don’t have a lot of success with refreshing so I end up washing again on day 3. Maybe co-washing will be what I need :)
Heard about co-washing quite awhile and read that the necessary ingredients in the conditioner should be cetrimonium and behentrimonium chloride. Worked well for me ❤️
Thank you for this video! I have been using cowash for years but didn't realize I should also be conditioning. I washed that way for the first time yesterday and I could see a noticable difference. A lot less frizz! 😀
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video about co-washing so this was very helpful. I started to laugh when you talked about the plant, if you hadn’t said anything I was going to ask about it!!
I would love to see a before and after, like a pic of your curls styled from about day one to today! I know its been a long journey and youve learned so much!
Still love the old school Sauve conditioner for Cowash. I can usually find them at Dollerama in Canada. Tried As I Am for a while and found it too heavy.
I have wanted to try co-washing and if you hadn't posted this video, I would have done it all wrong! Thanks for the tips! (And now I know what gave me an itchy scalp in my earlieat curly routine days)
Ohhhh, I've been doing it wrong 😆 I usually just put my cowash in one time, (I don't do a cleanse, rinse and reapply. I just do cleanse and rinse). Thanks Susie
❤❤ the video. I sometimes cowash when I don't have a lot of buildups which would be my OG as I am coconut cowash, and for buildup will be trader's joe tea tree tingle shampoo.
Sure do love all your videos Miss Nova Scotia! I love it that you're a nurse. I'm a CNA and MA with the elderly or I used to be. So tell me with apple cider vinegar is that going to strip your color especially if it's organic cuz I don't leave it on there very long so it's equal parts right and you just leave it on a minute or two and then rinse out?
I tried the As I Am and didn’t like it; it was too heavy for my fine hair and it was hard to rinse out. IMO it was more like a deep conditioner. My hair is high porosity. Maybe it traps all my styling products around its roughed up cuticle and needs more help getting clean?
Omg!! i have a curly lipstick plant too that i have been trying to grow. My daughter bought me a nice one a few years ago because i love makeup and we both have curly hair 🧡 but i killed with too much direct light (i think) . i have bought 3 small ones since then that i have been trying to get to that size and have killed off 1 more - with too little light. The last 2 i have in the right light i think cuz they have gotten a little bigger and flower little “lipsticks” but i am afraid to repot and kill them. Please let us know how yours does and what you do for it. 👍🧡👍🧡 and of course thank you for the hair video- always love yours!
Because my hair is so fine I cannot use a conditioner after using a cowash. I use As I Am cowash and I first use it like a conditioner - combing it through my hair and putting it up in a clip while I wash the rest of my body. I then scrub my head and rinse it out thoroughly. I follow it up with the As I Am leave in conditioner and some gel.
You can check your product by googling the name and curly girl method safe. If it’s safe on the cgm you can be sure it’s water soluble and would be fine with cowashing.
What? You are still doing videos? I thought you were going to quit.🤔 I am glad to see you, but it looks like I have missed a lot of content. 😄😄😄 Just remembered you because of the hurricane Fiona, and what a great surprise to see you. I hope everything is good for everyone in Canada in the path of this bad weather.
Hey! I stopped making videos for a while to focus on my career but I literally just got my dream job that I worked so hard for, I’m doing my masters part time … & I really really missed UA-cam so now I’m just making random videos without putting any pressure on myself. Thank you for thinking of me. The storm is over thank god. We won’t have power for a few days but we have a BBQ & a Camping stove. We’ll be just fine ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Susie, i have a question not related to this video but hoping you can help. My parents are on holiday in canada right now and i want to see if they can pick me up a few things for wavy hair. Im hoping you can let me know where they might be able to get these things in the toronto/ wider ontario area Bioterra gel that you rave about Curl smith products Ag recoil Thank you. Sorry i know this must seem like a random request but you are always responsive to comments 😀
Just looking for you---to make sure you and your family are safe from Fiona. Please let us all know your well-being and how we can help! Anne from League City 🤗🤗🤗🌿🌈🌈🌈
That plant is actually called a Hoya carnosa compacta and they don't like too much water . Only water when the leaves are somewhat bendable and they can flower.
Thanks for this tip. I have one of those plants and am perhaps watering too much. It just LOOKS like a plant that wants a lots of water. I’ll cut back and see what happens.
Might be the type/brand of conditioner you are using or maybe you aren’t using enough. Slip should occur when the conditioner is in your hair. Another thing you could try is gently combing your hair before you get in the shower.
@@caraziegel7652 Unfortunately, for me, I have severe dandruff, nothing that "light" will cut i for me, I have to use Nizoral 2% (ketoconazole) and sulfate shampoos. Yeah I know, it's almost demonizing when you dare even say it.
One "recipie" i found was one tablespoon ACV to one cup warm water so definitely dilute it... but you've GOT to do your own research. Some people recommend a baking soda rinse to bring the PH back up, other people say absolutely not. I used ACV once, melted the paint of the windowsill in my bathroom so I decided it was probably too brutal for my baby fine hair hahaha
I have never been successful with co-washing. I miss the suds that shampoo gives me. Love the videos. You have a beautiful Family!
I never miss your videos. Learned lots from watching them.
Thinking of you and your family through the storm. Hope you're all safe!
Hey!! Thank you so much

Oh Susie, watching the news about the damage in Cape Breton. Hoping you and your family are safe and wishing the best for you.
I've been thinking of Susie also. Hope all is well.

Very concerned about your well-being during awful devastation of the storm. Hope you and your family and friends, remain safe.
I love love your videos. I find them so informative and educational. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

Awesome informative video Suzie!!!
Thanks for being soo clear about co washing, finally understand it! :)
Hope you and family are safely out of the storms path.🙏🏻
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video about co-washing so this was very helpful. I started to laugh when you talked about the plant, if you hadn’t said anything I was going to ask about it!!
I was so happy to see a curly Susie video in my timeline!

Hey Susie! Any idea what happened to biotera gel? After watching your vids I tried it and loved it! I ran out and now I can not find it anywhere :((

good video ✅
How'd you do after Fiona swept through your area? Just saw on the weather channel that there was damage.
I have a question does the curly girl method work on straight haot
Is head and shoulders 2 in 1 a good cowash for everyday?
Omg!! i have a curly lipstick plant too that i have been trying to grow. Do they make Tresemme Botanicals anymore? I can't find it
Because my hair is so fine I cannot use a conditioner after using a cowash. What about people with curly hair that has greasy hair I really need to clean my scalp too due to oil build up
Tresemme Expert Botanique coconut best cowash for my hair. 😍
They discontinued it! I’m distraught! Have you found anything comparable?
Hi Susie. What is you suggestion if you use just a few drops of a hair oil to smooth frizz? Would a co-wash remove the oil?
You can check your product by googling the name and curly girl method safe. If it’s safe on the cgm you can be sure it’s water soluble and would be fine with cowashing.
What?

Just starting my curly girl journey. Need to figure out how to keep the frizz at bay on day 2 & 3. Hope the Fiona didn’t hit you too hard.

I cannot find the bioterra gel anymore and I’m freaking out
Hope all is well honey I see the storm is wreaking havoc in your area hope all is well love you! Well we're bracing here in Florida USA

I'm a bit baffled...what exactly is co-wash?
Can you please do a video on pre poo
I never get slip! Wonder if it is because I never co-wash?

@CurlySusie did you know they discontinued Biotera gel?? I'm freaking out because that's my favorite. I've never found one like it and it's awesome.
I can’t believe it. I’ve tried a ton of other gels 🥺. It’s the only one I like
Biotera gel is back it’s been repackaged!!
@@ericagordon2275 Really? Awesome! Thanks for the info. 😀
Do you recommend a cgm approved shampoo for dandruff? Thanks for all the videos and tips! Be blessed!
I have not found one. IMO CG and dandruff issues don't go hand in hand!
some people had recommended a tea tree cowash, back when i was active in a group, from asiam
@@caraziegel7652 Unfortunately, for me, I have severe dandruff, nothing that "light" will cut i for me, I have to use Nizoral 2% (ketoconazole) and sulfate shampoos. Yeah I know, it's almost demonizing when you dare even say it.
As i am has an itchy scalp cowash!
Not CGM, but Nizoral is amazing for itchy, flakey scalp. Just follow it up with a deep conditioner ☺️
🤐👍
Hope you’re having a great day 🌻
Regarding apple cider vinegar: should I dilute it first, or use it undiluted? If diluted, what is the correct "recipe"?
Always highly dilute. Check other UA-cam videos for "Apple cider vinegar hair rinse"
One "recipie" i found was one tablespoon ACV to one cup warm water so definitely dilute it... but you've GOT to do your own research. Some people recommend a baking soda rinse to bring the PH back up, other people say absolutely not.

Piling on. Always, always, always dilute. I got a ph tester from Amazon and was amazed how little ACV was needed to get to the right ph.
Your Hindu Rope plant is looking fantastic! Sorry. I know it has nothing to do with the video.
It’s my favourite plant 🥰 is it going to flower do you think?
It is actually a Hoya plant.
Thank you for this video. I have been shampooing lately. I need to get back to the cowash!
Why can't y'all mind your own business and leave just one damn thing ab o ut us without y'all feeling like y'all gotta be in the middle
