    Hello lovely! Todays video is a follow up from last weeks as i've had lots of questions on how to co-wash and what co-washing is. Basically it's washing hair with just conditioner.
    In last weeks video I tried co-washing for a full month and spoke about the results & how i got on with it. In this video I wanted to dive a little deeper in to why you should be washing your hair with just conditioner and how to wash it.
    Stay tuned for some tips and tricks along the way.
    Hope you like it x

    I only heard about co-washing about 2 months ago but had actually stopped the shampoo side of things probably a month earlier.
    I have fine hair with a wave .. I used to wash and condition my hair every 1 or 2 days depending on how it looked on the day.
    It was always having good and bad hair days.. sometimes dry a brittle looking and sometimes greasy with dry ends.. I never could get it right.
    I ran out of shampoo oneday so just conditioned it for a couple days and thats when the magic happened.. a month into it I looked up about just conditioning hair and thats when I found out about co washing.. that it was a thing after all..
    My fine dry brittle hair is no more.. it shining, healthy, I have my pretty waves back.. and best of all I only have to co wash every 3 or 4 days now.. also its growing so much faster without breaking.. I wish I had known about this years ago.
    I don't agree that some people say its not something for fine hair because to me its the best thing I have ever done and I'm 53 years old and my hair is the best its ever been. Shampoo is the biggest scam out there lol!

      Thank you so much for this comment! This is exactly what I was looking for. My hair is fine and has a slight wave to it. Sometimes it is more wavy than others. My hair also goes back and forth. Right now I am struggling with a little bit of dandruff at the front of my scalp above my forehead and hair that gets slightly greasy at the top and extremely dry at the bottom. This tells me my hair is trying to produce more oil to compensate for the dryness. I use different shampoos all targeted for hydration and only wash my hair at the most every 2 to 3 days. I am going to start trying this co washing method and see how this helps me. It is also about to be winter which is terrible on my fine hair.

    This is so encouraging!! I’ve been watching other videos and well um they have stuff greasy looking hair and I was starting to think it wasn’t worth trying if I was going to look like that in 6 months LOL but this is so so encouraging! You really have beautiful hair and make it so so easy to do myself! I can’t wait to try your method tomorrow

      It's definitely worth trying. Key things to remember: lots of conditioner, covering your scalp, massaging the scalp with medium pressure to lift dirt and doing that massage all over your head for a good 4-5 mins. I'd love to know how you get on 💕

    With co washing do you still need to do the deep conditioning masks you would when shampooing ? X

    • @FrankieWhite
      @FrankieWhite  3 роки тому +1

      You can use deep conditioning masks as normal but use that in replacement of conditioner/co-washing every few weeks and make sure you still massage your scalp loads to lift dirt and product build up 💕

    Hello. Thanks for all the great info. I’m 55 years old and my thinning hair is just starting to grow back to my beautiful thick mane (chemo and meds). My hair texture has changed over the years from thick and curly, to wavy to just thick and definitely hard to control frizz. I wash my hair once a week….My question is how often should I do cowashing in my situation? Do I use shampoo and conditioner one week and then just do cowash the following week? What is your recommendation? Appreciate your help!!

    • @FrankieWhite
      @FrankieWhite  2 роки тому +2

      Firstly, you need to ditch the shampoo all together to get the best benefits from co-washing. If your hair is similar hair to mine then I'd say you could start with conditioner washing twice a week and try to lengthen the gap so you're eventually doing it once a week :)

    • @michaelg8841

      Co-washing completely replaces shampoo. When co-washing you cannot use shampoo, or else it isn’t a co-wash.

    Can you explain why it’s not for “ fine and naturally really oily” ?

    • @FrankieWhite
      @FrankieWhite  2 роки тому +1

      Yes! The reason I wouldn't recommend for finer hair textures or naturally oily is because co-washing can make the hair feel heavier and limper as your skipping the shampoo part. If it's done properly with a light/loose conditioner then it could work but anything too heavy will create more oil and heaviness

    Can I be cowashing my hair everyday

    • @FrankieWhite
      @FrankieWhite  3 роки тому +1

      Yes you can co-wash every day but it might be worth trying to train your hair so it needs washing less. When I started to do this I would still wet my hair on days I wasn't using product and gave it a good rinse to make it feel a little cleaner and refreshed 💕

    • @FrankieWhite
      @FrankieWhite  3 роки тому +4

      Could it be possible that you weren't doing it properly? Usually co-washing moisturises the scalp so reduces dandruff.
      Hair lice are caught from other people, it isn't possible for them to grow on there own. They jump from other people heads. I'd suggest getting a lice comb and some treatment and treating your hair every few days until they're gone ☺️ 💕

      You need to treat the lice! Do the lice shampoo & comb each section a little at a time. Don’t miss any bc if you miss one single egg, they’ll come back. Wash all your sheets, pillow cases, brushes.. in special lice wash
