Yeah, I think it would be pretty cool to have a scalp that actually helped to lubricate and moisturise my curls!
I'll take my benefits of not having to wash as often, because I have to 😂, but it's not as if natural oil production is a detriment. I honestly think it's really cool. It's like, self-conditioning. Grass is always greener, of course.

I just wanted to THANK YOU for this video. You have no idea how life changing co washing has been to my 13 year old daughter. My daughter had uncontrollable dandruff and lots of buildup in her scalp. She would used medicated shampoos but they did not work for her. Her scalp would often bleed from irritation from all the buildup. I turned to youtube in desperation to find something that would help. I came across your video and ordered the As I Am Dry and Itchy Co wash. I had never heard of co washing up until that point. After the first co wash my daughter’s scalp was squeaky clean, truly unbelievable. She’s been co washing twice a week for 3 weeks now and her scalp has NEVER looked and felt better. She’s no longer in tears after she combs her hair and feels confident in her hair now. So yeah, THANK YOU!

I'm surprised one may feel the need to apologize for having greasy hair or no make up on. There was nothing on with any of the two, really. I already expected to find a human being before starting the video. And it's so thoughtful and honest of you the reason why you waited to so long for washing! Thank you. Finally, I have found someone with the same hair type and scalp as me. Its very frizzy and dry but my scalp gets very greasy and oily I used to wash daily with antidandruff shampoo and NEVER use conditioner all my life. My scalp was oily and felt so dirty just day 2 without using any styling products or touching my hair throughout the day. Now I wash every 4 days with CG approved shampoo still gets greasy but not as bad. I find cowashing still very greasy the next day like day 4 after using CG shampoo. I am willing to keep trying as my scalp took time to adjust when I cut out sulphates etc. so maybe its the same.

@@mar-fe1vz I think the issue with a normal conditioner is a lot of them don't have a good cleanser in them to be able to clean your scalp and might make greasy as it's just adding moisture depending on your hair type. I really want to try cowashing as my scalp has been dry for a long time, but have heard some cowashes too can be heavy for wavy hair and weight roots down.

I’m new to your channel and only three months into the CG method! My hair is quite similar to yours, very “swavy” depending on the day lol. This video has literally given me the confidence to just cowash! I’ve been using the AsIAm cowash and have been loving it, but most wavy hair CG channels say that you NEED to still use shampoo or be clarifying like every other week. I haven’t clarified since my first reset wash and although I definitely went through a transition phase, my hair is loving being cowashed! It’s nice seeing someone who actually doesn’t say you’re going to have dirty hair if you’re not using shampoo. Thank you for this video!!’

*I also thought there was absolutely no way that cowashing would get the hair clean. It took me **_five years_** before I tried it. Once I did, I could not believe how clean it got my hair. BTW, it doesn't have to be a designated "cowash"; I was using Suave Rosemary Mint conditioner the first year. That worked beautifully. Some conditioners don't work super well for this; I tried others and sometimes had a yucky feeling build up in my hair.*

I found this cowash brand 2 years ago & I haven't looked back. I've been dealing with dryness due to a health issues & change of hair due to menopausal. I went from straight long hair to thinning, dry, slow growing CURLY hair now. Since finding the As I Am cowash it has been a dealbreaker for me. Your video by far has been one of the best, detailed & informative for me. Your after look is STUNNING & your hair is absolutely beautiful. You did me ideas to change my routine up a little. My only problem is time & I can never leave the house with wet hair. I get sick with sore throats & I just don't wanna go there. So was curious as to whether you use the As I Am curling cream at all? If you can do a tutorial on that by any chance I'll be the first to watch. Thank you!! Love your channel. I seriously wish that this was readily available 30 years ago.

My hairdresser said that sort of hair change can occur to someone at anytime. Sure wish it was curly when I was younger....life would have been so much easier. However, I’m taking advantage of the curly easy care I’m dealing with. I don’t even diffuse...it dries beautifully naturally.

I have somewhat fine, thin hair and I had so much damage from daily high-heat styling and from never deep conditioning my hair. So on an impulse, I just got it all cut off, very short. I immediately regretted it because the hairstylist did a really bad job and because now my hair is too short even to naturally curl. But after a few weeks I'm feeling better because 1. my hair is growing so fast, and 2. it's given me the opportunity to transition to co-washing so easily. I haven't used shampoo on my hair since the day it was cut. Like you, I never thought it would be possible for me, now I wouldn't ever go back to shampoo after seeing how easy it is to get clean hair with just conditioner. I use the curly hair shea moisture conditioner and it rinses out so thoroughly that it's almost like shampoo. My hair feels squeaky clean until I put in a leave-in conditioner.

@@owainh1347 when I use the As I Am Coconut cowash with some olive oil added as a deep conditioner once a week after a low-poo wash it keeps my hair looking really good and well moisturized which keeps the curls in good shape. If I stop doing a good deep moisturizing weekly, my hair loses the curls and goes straw-texture straight and looks horrible because it sticks out everywhere instead of forming nie looking shapes. And I am finding that the olive oil added to other conditioners work almost as well to as deep conditionings too. For me, keeping my hair curly seems to require moisturizing and very little protein.

I’ve been binge-watching cgm hair videos for most of quarantine but finally saved up the money to start with decent products!! I did my final wash about a week ago with the suave clarifying shampoo and the zotos deep conditioner and it was lovely!! I’m using the zotos starter kit for my regular hair care and it comes with the “no-lather” cleanser instead of the “lo-lather”. I was hoping for the lo poo since my hair is tight wavy, low porosity, waist-length and oils slip down my weighed-down roots and upper lengths pretty easily, but I’ve been scalp training my scalp for a while and so I usually can go about 3-4 days between washes. Is a no leather cleanser basically the same as a co-wash? It did “lather” a little after I scrubbed my scalp for forever, but I’m scared my hair won’t last as long between washes. Any tips (from anyone) would be lovely!!

Hot water does not open hair cuticles. Hair cuticles do not open, just like the pores on your face do not open. Constantly using hot water on your hair can definitely dry it out and cause more frizz, but since you have very oily hair, it's probably not as big of a problem for you as it would be for someone with normal to dry hair. Heat also does not help the hair to absorb product more efficiently, it only allows for conditioner to stick to the surface of the hair more efficiently.

I have 3A/3B curly hair, and I’ve really been struggling to get the balance of clean feeling hair/moisturised hair
I tried co-washing as a teenager, because I like to re-style my hair everyday and to do that I need to wet it and I inevitably wash it with shampoo everyday which is definitely not good. So then I replaced the oils in my hair with hail oil before washing every night, and my hair became greasy and limp.
So tonight I decided to co-wash for the first time in years, and whilst it’s not totally dry yet and I’m not sure of the result yet my fingers are crossed!
If this works I think I’ll be co-washing every second or third wash from now on, my hair really needs some TLC.
