- Classic Nib had the Jr. Joshua Pen kit designed exclusively for them based on their specifications. They were kind enough to send me several kits and I really like this one.

Beautiful pen Bob. I was fortunate enough to see the Jr. Joshua components at the MOVPTG this past weekend....amazing, and that olive wood really sets it off. Missed seeing you there.
Thank you Scott,
Maybe next year.

Bob
I really enjoy your videos. I'm a longtime woodworker but have never turned anything. I've got everything (lathe, accessories, etc) on its way to my house now to start turning pens. And I have spent a 'plethora' of my time recently watching your channel. Appreciate all the tutorials and ego-free approach. Subscribed...
Thank you Randy,
It’s a great hobby and very addicting.
Regards,
Bob
Would buy this in a heartbeat!
Thank you.

Sweet looking pen. Thanks
Thank you Charles.

Really nice pen. I started pen turning about a year ago....I've only turned slimline pens so far but I think I'll try something else after watching this video thanks for sharing
Thank you.
Regards,
Bob
You're not the first to get the bushings wrong. I've done that at least 3 times I can remember. They were for my own collection so I didn't mind so much, and I'm the only person to ever notice it. The pen looks fantastic, especially with the cap posted. 😁
Thank you Ted.
Nice I love a pen that has weight to it . Good job.
Thank you Ric.

Thank you for making the same mistakes I make ALL THE TIME. Also. Thank you for sharing you talent with all of us making all of us want to do better.
Thank you Eric.

I love the tips that you included even without intending to do so. the best tip was watching where you place the pen's clip on a blank. I have been looking for the "dull" spots when i do pens already just glad that is close to what you do.
Thank you Ben,
It’s all in the details.

Bob
Simply AMAZING! THANK YOU FOR SHARING !
Thank you Marcos.

Bob thanks for the video, once again great video and just love the way you remain so happy and positive.. Great stuff cheers!
Thank you Paul,
A bad day Turning is better than a good day working. 😉

What a gorgeous pen, I love working with Olivewood. Great video Bob.
Thank you Eric.

An absolutely STUNNING PEN KIT. I've noticed that a massive amount of great pen kit's can only be bought from America! By the time the postage and insurance has been added it can double or even treble the original price of the pen kit!
A lovely piece of OLIVE WOOD, you made a beautiful pen 👍😉👌
Thank you Andrew, I hate that my pen turning family across the pond has such a difficult time acquiring kits. I can’t believe one of the companies hasn’t started distributing them there.
Regards,
Bob
I've been watching your channel for about a year. Love your stuff, thanks for sharing!
Thank you. Regards,

That is one exquisite pen. I'm not normally a fan of rollerball pens, but that one is just WOW!!! And that olive wood, oh my goodness, it is just so beautiful. Thanks for the video.
God bless,
Matt

Thanks for sharing appreciate the information you have a blessed day
Thank you Tim,
Same to you.

Great pen! Thread tolerance could be better, but that is a quality control issue. One suggestion, prior to pressing cap on to center band, it's helpful to screw cap onto lower body to ensure grain match when fully seated. Learned a lot over the years watching your videos, thanks!
Thank you Matthew.
Regards,
Bob
Great vid Bob. What you could do when making two part pens is put a line inside the brass tube too so when you turn the arrows off the wood you still have a reference on the inside of the tube.
Great video Bob and what a pen it's great
Also screw the cap end on before you press the tube in place so the wood grain will line up when screwed on.
Great tip Dirk.
Regards,
Bob
Thank you Nigel.
Regards,
Bob
I’ve done that before and it does work great. Not sure why I didn’t think of it this time.
Regards,
Bob
Great video Bob and what a pen it's great
Thank you Nigel.
Regards,
Bob
Bob, I have done that before - mixing up the ends. One thing you could have done is after you seated both parts of the main pen is that you could have threaded on the cap part on the post end. Then slide on the cap and line it up with the grain on the pen. Carefully remove it from the pen with the threaded cap part in place. Press it in place and you will at least have the grain line up when it is posted. Best wishes.... Glenn
Thank you Glen, that’s a great tip. Regards,
Bob
Great video bob. You're right that is a beautiful pen. Got my blank cutting jig in from Tim Geist, it is awesome, like you I can see a lot of potential with it. Thanks for all your information
Thank you Dean,
I’m loving my jig.
Regards,
Bob
That is a gorgeous looking pen .
Cheers
Tim from Wood 4 Nothing
Thank you Tim.
Refards,

Beautiful pen, Bob. Will check out their web site for sure.
Thank you Tom.

Bob, another great pen looks exceptionally well. Your right olive wood is easy to turn but also finish’s very nice. I did notice you were using your new jig from Tim Geist. I would like to learn more about live centers.
Thank you Eddie,
TBC is super easy to use. No worries with board mandrels.
Regards,
Bob
I hope all is well. I don't see anything newer than 3 months ago.
Thank you Christine,
I’ve just been overwhelmingly busy at work. Hopefully things settle down soon.

Bob
👍👍👍👍
Thank you Gaston.

Love the channel Bob. really enjoy your videos and have gotten a few ideas from watching them. Question for you. Where did you get the jig you use to sand the end of your blanks square or did you make it?
Thank you Kevin,
That jig is made by Tim Geist. You can find him on Facebook. I’m not sure who he sells the jig through these days as the original pen company that sold it closed. Just PM him and tell him I sent you, ask where you can get the jig, he’ll he super happy to let you know.
Regards,
Bob
Awesome video and I was thinking that olive wood looks great right off the tool. Take care.
Thank you Thom,
It’s an amazing wood to turn and a plus is it smells wonderful.
Regards,
Bob
Gorgeous pen, Bob! I looked at that kit this weekend at MOVPTG and it was stunning.
I really like it, did you buy one?
Regards,
Bob
RJBWoodTurner Unfortunately, I did not, but I did pick up the bushings and a couple of Zen kits. I’m excited to turn that one. I got quite a few goodies too. Hopefully I’ll get a MOVPTG video shot this week if all goes well.
Cool, I’m sad I couldn’t make it. You were the UA-cam celebrity this year.
RJBWoodTurner I don’t know about that. I hear that Mike Delawter is a pretty big deal though. 😂
Yes he is.
👍
😃
Am I correct that you have uploaded over 400 vids?!?!?! You go boy!!! How many times do you think you have said the word "gorgeous" in those vids? :-)
LOL, I didn’t realize that I had uploaded that many. I believe the official count on the word gorgeous is way highly that that, LoL.

Bob
Question,,thin and med finishing ca glue seems to be taking too long to dry,,,what is the normal drying time,,,I’m from Georgia and working in a unconditioned building,,lots of rain lately,,is this my issue,,thanks for your help
Hello Mitchell,
Thin usually dries rather quickly. This time of year, medium takes a long time to cure.
Regards,
Bob
Nice video. To bad was hoping to meet your in Belphre at Movpt this weekend
Thank you Joel,
I really wanted to go. Hopefully next year.
Regards,
Bob
So beautiful. Can I have the link for this kit please?

@@RJBWoodTurner I appreciate your help
Thank you so much 🌹
Hey Bob, do you mess around with vacuum and stabilizing resin? I bought a gallon of the Cactus Juice Stabilizing Resin and that's way to much for me to use. It's going to be free if you could use it.
I haven’t started stabilizing yet but I’d like to. I need to build a vacuum chamber. Coming soon hopefully.
Regards,
Bob
Can you do a review of the wood river tactical pen?
If I can get my hands on one I will. It’s not a kit I would normally purchase as I’m on a tight budget but let me see what I can do.
Regards,
Bob
@@RJBWoodTurner ok, thank you. If you cannot I completely understand. Also, you did a phenomenal job with the Olive wood. It's one of my favorite types of wood.
Great video again Bob! Wondering what is on the buffing wheels?
It a blue jewelers rouge. Maybe 300 grit.
Regards,
Bob
Thanks for the video. would you please give me the link of your pen press to buy. It looks like a good one.
Milescraft. You can get them on Amazon fairly reasonable.
Regards,
Bob
@@RJBWoodTurner thanks
Great Vid Bob I have a question where did you get your Dust Collector from I been looking for one with no luck
Any info would be great
Thank you Virgil,
The collection unit at the lathe is from Rockler. I have a Dust Deputy between it and my shop vac.
Regards,
Bob
Where did you go 😰
Been busy with work.
Regards,
Bob
RJBWoodTurner good to know that your. Okay !
Like they say, always measure once and cut twice. I do that religiously. Hmmm, I wonder if that's why I waste so much material. I may have something wrong.
Story of my life too, LOL.
Regards,
Bob
Thanks for sharing, did you make a modification to your pin press, I didn’t see use cardboard this time
Hello Mitchell,
I have a rubber pad on the ram.
Regards,
Bob
Stunning.....check my wallet for the money.......have a great weekend with the family Bob...
LOL, Thank you Robert.
