Hey Chad, Michael here. Love your store and all your products.
Thanks so much Michael
Wow Chad! We have been doing TBC wrong the entire time by using regular bushings without an adapter. We have been turning out of round and could not figure out why! I’m guessing without the adapter, a traditional bushing does not sit properly on the 60 degree centers. We even bought a more expensive lathe thinking we had originally bought a POS one. When that did not fix it, we were at a loss. I wish we had learned that in the beginning. Thank you for presenting such a valuable video for the turning world!
What's the advantage of the TBC bushings vs. using a mandrel?
I am wondering also.
TBC bushings are much better quality and better made for a more true turn. They also take out the mandrel which is a source for a potential out of round situation from over tightening or a bent mandrel. I find TBC bushings hold up much better and last way longer than traditional bushings do to the way they are used.

@@ChadSchimmel thanks, can the be over tightened and cause warp also or would that be noticeably harder to do?
@@davidsanders5788 Yes it does not take much, easy to over tighten
The pointy thing I used in the head stock (I've had a stroke and can't remember words) would not hold. It just spun. Can you help?
Hi, its the Dead Center, if its spinning tighten up your tail stock a bit, make sure you are using a 60 degree live center. Should be snug but not crazy tight
