I'm about 6' 3" and I don't have any issues regarding headroom. It's worth mentioning there is a control in the drivers seat which releases an air cushion in the base, which is usually inflated. Once released it improves the headroom. I've owned my E G80 since July, and apparently was the first customer in the UK. With so few Genesis cars on sale here, particularly the G80 (these days everyone buys SUV's), it often gets confused for a Bentley!
I have been a loyal Lexus ES350 customer for a number of years. But when my current 36 month lease ends next February, I will be switching over to a 2024 g80 Electrified model (Uyuni White with the brown interior as you show in your review). While I have always loved the reliability of my Lexus models, with no issues ever to take care of, Lexus has done away with the center console control for the navigation screen, making it touch only - that is not something I want to have to deal with while driving. So I am actually excited about switching over!! Thank you for the driver's POV review - I know I will be making the right decision!
@@emotionalol cellphone batteries are smaller in capacity, thus they go through cycles way faster. same cannot be said about an absolute bed of li-ion cells driving an automobile.
@@emotionalol Kinda, but no. Batteries age depending on how many full cycles you go thru with the cells. Cell phone batteries are cycled 1-2 times a day going from 100-0% on average, which is why manufacturers rate them to drop to 80% health within two years. To do this with an EV would be to drive its full range every single day, using its full 100% charge. Unless you drive this much daily, battery degradation isn't a major concern.
282 miles is 330-340 miles in real world driving. That's pretty good for a car that is built on an ICE platform. It spank the M-B EQE (non AMG) in range and performance. The only downside to this car is reduced headroom and trunk space. Hyundai solved this issue by building the 2024 Kona from the ground up as an EV and retrofitting the ICE powertrains around it. I hope the Genesis goes the route with the E-GMP platform for those who still wants ICE powertrains.

Just over four seconds from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) is super impressive for a 365 hp executive sedan. EV powertrains must be a magic in providing constant torque.
With an EV you have the full torque of the motors available immediately. It's impressive and a more than a little surprising the first few weeks you own one. Once you get past that, they're pretty much just plain old commuting cars. I've had a Model 3 for nearly two years and honestly, it's a pretty dull car outside of the off the line acceleration.
See, this is the kind of EV sedan I would buy (speaking only design wise). Stuff like the EQE just looks terrible in comparison; a lot like a bloated computer mouse.
Great Review as always. Interesting observation. As you walk around the car, twice I observed the same thing.. at least to me & its very clearly noticeable the color difference especially on driver side. Front to back.. the color is more saturated til the rear door.. and immediately from rear door including to the back much lighter and grayer. I do work in automotive paint mixing field and am familiar with light changing the color at certain angles and in certain cars especially due to body lines. However, here there's no gradual transition. Just curious if anyone noticed this as well. By the way, almost the same thing present on the passenger side, but less noticeable it not being in the direct sunlight.
Looking at this car, I kept thinking of the Chrysler 300. Nothing really stands out from the exterior. But Hyundai has never excelled at design. They borrow heavily from other automakers constantly. The fin on the redesigned Sonata? Lifted straight from the Lincoln. Even the inside seems uninspired for an $80,000 vehicle. No reclining backseats? No tech in the rear of the headrests of the front seats? Meh. Leaves me cold.
