I can't help but feel that people who say this forgot the atrocity of service that Hyundai had and continues to serve to all Sonata/Elantra/Santa Fe owners from the past 5-8 years with engine failures. Their service is truly bottom rung. My brother-in-law's car had the famous knocking issue and brought his car into the dealership multiple times, each time being told he might've had a bad oil change interval resulting in the issue (BS, and he did all his service @ the dealer on time, on record). When we fought for an engine swap after CELs turning on on the drive home from the dealer, they would still try to blame us. It wasn't without fierce fighting that the dealer offered the warrantied engine swap. We paid for TWO tows before they finally admitted it could be the issue that is *well known*. (Note that Hyundai didn't recall nearly all of the cars or offer to do the fix, so you will see fewer of these cars rolling around now as owners give up on their cars and sell them for scrap when their engines pop). Upon trying to starting to do the engine swap, the dealer even tried to scam us into buying a new set of spark plugs for the engine, when the warrantied block comes SHIPPED WITH SPARK PLUGS. They tried to get us to buy "a new set of plugs" or "swap the old ones over on your own dime". We told the dealer to "swap the old ones over" but told them they're responsible for the cost since this is all WARRANTY WORK. They called us back 30 minutes later telling us the block already had new plugs in it. What a joke. Still trying to nickel and dime the customer with lies. Stories like this are covered up but rampant. Just search these terms on google: hyundai engine knock reddit or hyundai engine knock forum You'll see how Hyundai treats its customers then. Hyundai tries to actively disguise this massive issue in their engine as bad fuel, or bad spark plugs, etc. Guess what? The Genesis service team lives out of Hyundai's dealerships. All of Hyundai staff have already trained to be resistant and reluctant to admit fault and take warranty claims. You can bet your ass Hyundai is trying to buy everyone's opinions out. It's how the Chaebols of Korea do it, and it's why Genesis looks like it's able to break into the market. You're buying a rebadged Hyundai. Ended up buying a 2023 as a CPO last week. Was used as a dealer service loaner with only 3200 miles and got it with a CPO warranty (6 years, 75k plus the 100k battery warranty). Paid $44k off the original $81k MSRP. So yeah if you bought this new you already got obliterated on depreciation. But for low to mid $40s, I'm happy; it drives better than the ICE and Genesis does do luxury cars well. Truly a perfect use of an EV drivetrain. When the mass market battery and motor setup most closely approximates the luxury barge experience, it should be used for that purpose. The weight, smooth torque, and price match it perfectly to a car like the G80 so that even a rushed retrofit makes for one of the more compelling luxury EVs. It’s also cool to see how efficient this is given the same battery size as the Ioniq 5 and EV6, likely due to the length, low roof, and aerodynamic design. Goes to show that while crossovers can get similar gas MPG to similar sized sedans, in terms of range the gap is a bit larger. I still really want to see you guys review a Lucid. I drove this a few weeks ago in England. It's a nice car and a bit better than the EV6 in every way. But is it worth £80,000 with options as tested? No. The GV60 feels small and has odd proportions. It can move really well but isn't massively nimble on twisty roads but is fast.
You talking about the gv60 or g80?
*waiting with baited breath to be able purchase this in Maryland* ... *heavy breathing*
That's a nice looking car.
Yesterday I watched a video about 1958 GM. There was a bit where they showed a bunch of front end concept explorations.
Genesis : We don't need a massive grille. Let us go apeshit happy addressing this opportunity! How about.. we fill in the holes with plastic! Shiny plastic!
As an EV I have no problem with a Hyundai. I did not trust their gas engines at all.
"Only Michael McDonald"...that's perfect for this car too!
Just had to look back and see what pile you had to review that just didn’t connect with your viewers. Sedan. High priced. Ev. Lol his really resonates.
Why would this be a lease only if this is a refined, more reliable version of gas g80?
Because EVs are improving rapidly, better to lease and get on new tech in 3 years
Carrier has arrived.
Why lease but not buy?
A great first sedan effort
This an "almost" car for me. The range is almost competitive. The storage space is almost enough. The price is almost justifiable. The back seat is almost usable for taller people. This car is almost worth the hassle of shopping at a Hyundai dealer. Maybe the next generation will be a capital 'W' winner.
Do the charging caps dangle like they do in the promo?? I guess you have to spend Taycan money to avoid that?
You get a premium car and somehow this is like some AliExpress moped quality, when it comes to charger cup...
IIRC even the EQS charging cap dangles.
Can’t remember which car but one had a magnetic holder for your charging cap. Should’ve considered that
Premium video!
Jack agree my ass jack was ready to start a bmw argument
Hats off to those who bought evs anticipating 10 dollar a gallon gas.
Electrocuting Livestream coming when MrGoose hits 600,000 subs.

All those wheel spokes; you’ll be able to tell what kind of owner has it, they’ll either be clean and nice looking or it’ll look like crap.
If it's clean, it will have swirl marks bordering on gouges from the car wash where the owner has a membership. If it's dirty, it will have dirt in said swirls.
Since it is an EV with regenerative braking, it likely will accumulate a lot less brake dust than the ICE version.
@@M1911jln I would not buy a car that does not have brake dust.
Evs that weren't designed from the ground up are almost always worse that a ev designed from the ground up. The only exception I can think of is the Ford Lightning ⚡⚡⚡.
Pretty sure the lightning was a ground up EV, they didn't just stick a battery pack and some motors on a f150 body...
The lightning was ground up
Number of non AMG S Class /E Class buyers who bought it for it's handling dynamics = 0.
Not a fan of the electrified ICE car platform...
Edit: yeah I agree with the lease advice on this car...
