I just can't believe the quality of your videos Will, seriously masterclass stuff. I'm amazed, thank you so much, you're helping a lot of people, including myself to be better professionals. I can't stop recommending you to all my colleagues.
I've owned a photogrammetry studio, taught classes and been doing this and stereoscopy personally for over a decade and professionally for over 6. I'm so happy to see both the infrastructure and passion build up in the community finally. We're all walking a special path right now y'all. People in Utah reach out.
Hi William outstanding as usual, you spend so much time explaining this tool but all i can think about is the beatiful environment, the clouds, the snow, the birds, and also the mountaings in the back, consider on making a sequel just for that beatiful background, exellent tutorial, thanks.
@@WilliamFaucher Thank you for all your videos. I am currently studying to be an mediadesigner in Hamar and i am working on a personal film to put on my portfolio before the end of May. Your videos are so helpful in UE5 and also in some general knowledge about filming in general.
2:55 For people who aren't going to use a tripod and are newer to photography, I personally recommend a minimum of 1/125 for your shutter speed no matter what (unless you're going above 60mm). It's the slowest you can really go without having to worry at all about having motion blur from your hands shaking.
@@doggotrivago The guys at quixel use flash, but it has to be consistent. I don't think I would flash on a subject as large as the cabin I shot here. Smaller subjects though, flash would be great, just make sure it is cross-polarized.
Generally the rule on full frame is "Focal length x2". IE 100mm lens == at least 1/200, 20mm lens at least 1/40. Having image stabilizing lenses can get you some leeway too
@@patrickletourneau8177 I don't know what rule that is lol.. I'm also not trying to be mean or rude in anyway. I do event/corporate photography and yeah you need to shoot higher with a higher shutter speed than you think. You also don't have to stop down to f10. I also have shot a crap ton of real-estate, F8 will get you just as much in focus.
Just amazing!!! I'm a very noob in this kind of worflows but I´ve been learning a lot with you. Today I made my first 3D of a rock using this video, and the result destroyed my mind. THANK YOU!!!
It's so satisfying to see your photo scan turn out so great, so crispy and detailed! When I tried photoscan a building I failed completely. Maybe one day I will try again with better results.
Thank you William. I love and appreciate your enthusiasm, passion and desire to share your expertise with all of us. I could listen to you and watch your great vids all day. All the best mate.
The “Faucher Onion Skin method” I have not heard that metaphor to describe the picture taking process. That was very helpful. Thanks again for the knowledge drop. Excellent tutorial!!
I was playing around with photogrammetry for my personal project, and it is very fun! There is some future in RealityCapture I didn't know about that you showed me in this video! Thanks for luring me!
Thanks man for so much helpful tutorial. You are the person who can handle that kind of things without any difficulties and teach others to do that kind of wonderful workflows for free👍👍👍
I didn't realise how easy (kind of) it is to use just pictures to make a mesh and textures. Woah! Also I think that the code is working again, thank you so much for showing this off and giving a full guide
Thanks for the video! I work at Epic and didn't want to bother with any documentation lol. Videos like this are way easier to learn with. Appreciate it!!
Whaouuu thank you thank you very much for this SUPER tutorial, very complete and very well explained. William, you helped me a lot in my learning to build in RC. I will continue to follow you. Greeting from Lausanne in Switzerland.
The world is going crazy places! Imagine where this tech will take us in 10 years. Photorealistic assets for world building will be all over the place, in all shapes and forms, in probably just another decade or less - that's crazy.
dude... THIS is EXACTLY the kinda tutorial and walkthrough I needed to see! Ive watched a ton of videos on this topic including Pwnisher (super awesome but more in detail about the computer work and working UE) .. many are nicely done but they all sorta skip out on the full details of the actual grunt work.. just grinding at every angle possible but also showing that one does not need to elevate the camera to the height of the subject. No doubt it would be better but there are many cases a monopod or tripod would not be allowed or accepted...Especially the kind needed to get 30ft or higher! thanks!
I loved that. Also just noticed you shot this building in Norway. Noiz. My homeland. Not in the business at all, but I loved the insight into the art I love the most: Games. I spend more time than I should in RPGs looking at environments and buildings. Amazing stuff.
Absolutely amazing tutorials. I have been searching online for photogrammetry since long and I think this is the best and simple explanation to start with. Thanks for sharing 👏👏👏
Wow such an amazing tutorial thank you! I have never heard of this technology until now. I've created a game in UE4 before but I never dreamed of being able to put a model together like that with software and a camera. I am going to put my house in UE4 XD! Thanks again! So awesome.
Great tutorial!! Reality Capture seems perfect for your use-case as you're working with a unique building. The one negative is that it's a per-output pay model so you have to selective. Of course, now I want to give this process a go :)
Thank you for the detailed and engaging tutorial on this 😍😍
3 роки тому+3
pretty cool to see the process going all the way to the material setting in UE5, thanks... p.s. I think you've overdone the ground photos a bit - definitely not needed to go 10 full circles around the house :D I would suggest using a stepladder at some points to better connect drone+ground imagery and to get better angle information
Hey William, any chance you could make a tutorial on the whole EXR "Disable Tone Curve" option that gives you linier footage. Would like to see your workflow on that one! :)
Really great tutorial. I have an idea to convert an old farm in Denmark to a community & business centre, and I think I might try doing something like this as a baseline ...

Ah ok, I thought I was late or doing something off that coupon doesnt work
Thanks a lot for the quick answer! Very nice tutorial by the way!

"free" as in "you only submit your images and model to their service to train on" 😉
But in this instance that's really a fair price to pay.

Definitely not bad advice! Obviously the faster the better for this, but often there’s just not enough light outdoors at 1/125th at f/10 :)
