I only 5 days ago asked if any good tutorials are available to understand RC settings better , and presto this shows up.. Excellent, love the explanation of his thinking and I learnt so much.. Thank you, More like this please..
A very helpful webinar, thank you a lot! Perfect for medium advanced users, simple und clear language i was able to understand without any problems. You really enlightend some topics that where confusing sometimes. I guess there is always more to learn and with videos like this, its actually fun. Thank you again and keep on going this way. RC rules! ;)
Thank you very much! Wouldn’t it be Great and valuable to the community to have 1 lesson, exercise, or someone with a problem you can help and show us how to tackle the problem per week? Or maybe we can download a data set from the RC WEBSITE and we make the model, the week later you show us the correct way and why you do it this way. 70% Of us use the default settings and don’t know what to do with Some problems. It would be great to teach us like this one. A lot of people Will learn faster and use RC more because the results Will be There! The clients will be more happy, more work, more use of RC. Thank you, I learned a lot today!
You are saying that the parse point cloud is not a problem, but would it be possible to have a project only made of point clouds, without ever making a mesh? And view it on a web browser for example? Or in SketchFab
If you do not want to mesh the point cloud from the laser scanner there is no point in importing the scan to RealityCapture. If you are asking if you can export the sparse point cloud or the dense point cloud than yes you can. If you are working on a project with just photos first you will get a sparse point cloud after alignment. During reconstruction RC generates a mesh and the vertices of that mesh are the dense point cloud. RC basically generates the dense point cloud and mesh in one step. That is how its algorithms work.
What dlsr and lens you would recomend to buy for photogrametricals jobs. My nikon D5200 with 18-105 mm is not very good ant focusing (39 focus points)...
Hi, I exported E57 files from Faro SCENE and attempted to import them into Reality Capture. However, Reality Capture refused to import the point cloud file. Did you use any specific settings when exporting the point cloud?
@@CapturingReality Thank you so much for getting back to me. I realized I made a silly mistake-I was dragging and dropping the E57 file instead of importing it. Now everything is working perfectly! Thank you so much for the fantastic tutorial!
somehow even when I make selection with lasso tool (or any other selection tool) find images button isn't clickable and d key doesn't influence lasso tool at all
Are you using Lasso tool under Mesh Model? If so, this option is not available. Find Images tool works only for sparse point cloud created after alignment, not for mesh.
@@CapturingReality ohhh I see, so this function can only be used after aligment, but if you've already built the model you cant use it even in vertices scene render mode thank you now the problem is cleared
I didnt see how are you merge laserscan data and terrestrial photos components. I have same project now but i have trouble with merging laserscans and photogrammetry component. Notice, my scans without RGB....
Hi, you can do that using control points. You need to place the same control point over laser scan and also image dataset and then align the data. You should use minimally three CPs over three images/LSPs. You can also watch this ua-cam.com/video/HbdXMc-NtZQ/v-deo.html
@@CapturingReality I have gcp (marks) on whole model. But complexity is missing color pointcloud. Adding same control points on grayscale pointcloud and photos is thought.
@@grayback0577 If you have marks, it shouldn't be so hard to find them over images and laser scans. Also, you can use georeferenced data, then it is easier to get it together
@@CapturingReality when I add georeferenced photos component and georeferrenced laserscans they not merging together after align. I try only components switch on in align settings

Thank you ReelAir for the feedback, much appreciated. We will do our best to deliver more tutorials/webinars in the future.
Thank you for the Webinar. Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you Eduardo, for your feedback. We are happy you have enjoyed the webinar.

Thank you so much André. We are happy you´ve enjoyed this webinar :)
Excellent tutorial! I have learned so much, thanks for making this webinar. I would love to see more tutorials like this in the future.
Thank you Parker, we will definitely make similar tutorials/webinars in the future :)
Incredibly helpful and informative. Thanks!
Clean & Organized, thank you for this webinar. It was very informative.
Очень полезно и информативно!!)

Dear Gregory, we will discuss your suggestions with our team and see what we can do :) Thank you for your input
That was a very informative webinar. Thank You. Please make one which covers getting best geometry from photographs for object scans
Dear Anoop, thank you for your feedback and suggestion, we will take it into account for our future videos.
I want to know if the rebuild task will crash due to insufficient computer memory when the rebuild scene is large
It depends on your computers parameters, the number and quality of the images and used reconstruction settings.

I really like the Texture Reprojection function inside RC: is it possible to use it with any external model (not scan)?

What kind of scan have you used? Is it structured? Was the scan exported as one file or separate files for each position?

@@ghooo-qu2yd You can still use lasso tool, but you just need to hide the model view and set the tie points view.
This was really useful!
Are the CLI scripts you showed available online?
Hi, there you can find all shared CLI sample scripts: www.capturingreality.com/realitycapture-cli-sample-scripts
