I adore Jessica McCabe, and beyond the channel her book "How to ADHD" is the best ADHD book I've read - specifically because of how it takes the scientific and the standard practices and translates them to the non-practitioner. Great pregnancy recovery. :) We look forward to seeing so much more of you!
OMG, these two ADHD ladies are hilarious together! Thanks for the episode. I'm an ADHDer from Ukraine, and I can't get medication or other psychological support at the moment. But I'm listening to both of your shows here on UA-cam for self-help. You can't even imagine how much you've already changed my life. Thank you!
AuDHDer here (I believe, before assessments, waiting 3 years now) from the UK, wishing you all the best, and sending mental energy to you and the Ukraine!
Laura, I agree! Jessica does feel so cool, smart, and REAL! I was diagnosed at 31 already 5 kids deep, and for the first few years, I was still in denial/pushback. It wasn't until the stress I had put on myself started manifesting in physical ways that I started learning about my ADHD and how understanding it could lead to a brighter future. I am glad to find you here and start to learn from you and others too!
AuDHD, my post partum was actually good, but I had a lot of help and parental leave. What really got me to get a diagnosis was when my kid was entering the toddler phase. That was extremely overwhelming …
I was 38 and watching videos to see if I could find ways to help my daughter because she was diagnosed with adhd and struggling. I found How to ADHD and was mesmerized. After watching many videos, and then checking other videos from other youtubers, I was just hit with an "omfg... its me". Someone mentioned that adhd is genetic, I assumed it came from her dad. So many situations as a kid, struggles, came into a super clear picture as to why.... heck, I'd get to school and call my dad to bring me my glasses because id forget to put them on (I can't see much past my nose).....
I'd been diagnosed with ADD since 1989, but it wasn't until a few years ago that I started to understand what it actually means and is. I didn't have the vocabulary to describe it, and it was effecting my relationships.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience and perspective with us here in the comments. We're so glad you now have the words to describe how you feel to those who care about you.
Used to be a fan of Jessica, but last year she blocked me from commenting on her channel because I asked her why she said "people who menstruate" instead of "women". She then apologized to everyone in the comments that I "offended", which I felt was unnecessarily divisive?
*raising my hand and waving it above my head* Me me! I am one of the people who looked online for ADHD help and found How To ADHD! I was in middle school and I spent hours watching videos and learning and understanding and feeling less alone 🩷

Love Jessica’s channel.. she’s such a lovely warm person
We couldn't agree more!
My mother always said that about losing my head too! So many phrases used over my lifetime… sadly she died before my diagnosis at 57 years of age.
We're so glad you enjoyed the video. We're glad you're here, too!
Thank you so much! What a brilliant episode. Having a baby with ADHD is tough. Cheers, guys, you rock 🤩

It was actually my husband, who got diagnosed at 8, who watched the episode of How to ADHD on women with ADHD and thought it sounded a lot like me.
That's one terrific husband!
Is this PPD or ADHD overwhelm/burnout...how to tell the difference?
We recommend talking to your doctor, your OB/GYN specifically about PPD to discuss your symptoms.
You heard it here first! 😊
"invisible does not mean imaginary" boom. Mike drop.
