Sorry for the infrequent uploads as of late, I have a massive project I’ve been working on for the past four months which I have almost finished recording for. Hopefully I can get it to you guys in the next 1-2 months! Also remember use my referral link hehe.
as a demo main i mostly spawncamp the enemy team with sticky bombs but only in payload maps on attack mode , and yet again , they hate me for it but i didnt care , the only problem with it is some F2P engies builts sentry nests at last only on badwater but in other maps i dont have a problem with 'em
I feel that this is actually a demonstration on how successfully spawn-camping a team can backfire in the long run. If you’re the only one doing the camping, you WILL eventually be overwhelmed and need to back out or die. When that happens, you’ve essentially created a larger-than-normal spawn wave for the enemy and they’re all going to show up to the frontline at the same time. So while yes, you’ve created a little bit of space for your team for a moment, they now need to deal with the entire enemy team showing up at the same time, instead of more manageable 2-4 player groups.
Which is what you suppose to do ? A team operate at once make up large presence ? Camping like ones in these video lose anyway due to your reliance on your weight down f2p freesh install to initiate the kill so there's spawner to be camped . 😅😅😅 Skill issues for not being serious/manage sticky/read spawn timer.......
Yeah spawn camping in certain situations actually helps the enemy team, as the camper is creating a horde of a random people to do an unintended coordinated rollout, and guiding them to play as a team, instead of letting them dick around as individuals, which is most likely what your team mates would be doing if you are camping. Spawn camping could work in maps like attack/defend, and payload though, where people are already playing as a team to secure their ground, and few seconds of wasted time could change the tide of the game, although it's much more difficult to do due to the distance between spawn points, and those game modes tend to have different spawn points as the counter-measure.
That's why I don't understand people who complain about spawn camping demomen. Unless you're playing on old maps chances are you have more than one spawn exit, and baiting detonations is not that hard too. Demoman only camps if no one stopped him up to that point, and once you learn where he is the surprise element won't work for the rest of the match. Plus the Short Circuit exists, so yeah.
Using stickybombs as a defensive trap is a lost art. Camping is pretty much not just tf2's culture but fps culture entirely. It's a lot like sniper generally, as much as everyone hates them for one reason or another, the game would not be the same.
I like the part where all stickies undetonated can be a trap if it applies psychological pressure on the enemy and then they walk into your pipes, or back off for more time to put more stickies.
I see you've been primarily using it to trap three different doorways. The real fun way to use it is to trap the same hallway three different times. One trap in the entrance way, one halfway down the hallway, and one close to you in case they get by the first two. Basically a three-layer trap. Works great on ceilings!
all i heard in that beginning animation was "it's a beautiful day, birds are singing, grass is growing, and campers like you should be kicked from the server"
Please do more videos on the Scottish Resistance. It really, really deserves more love, and is an incredible weapon. Not JUST for camping areas, but also full area denial. Don't want someone on a point? You have 14 stickies. Carpet the area in a wide spread. Yes, they will see the stickies, but 40% of the time they will just run off. The other 40% of the time, they try to slowly deal with them, which just wastes time on their end and leaves them open for spies/snipers/literally everyone else, and the final 20% of the time, they have a weapon that either spreads the stickies out (which can work in your favor at times) or just totally deletes them. People also seem to forget you don't need to keep rapidly right clicking with the Scottish Resistance. Just hold down the right mouse button whilst launching stickies if you do need to use them offensively, though this does prevent the auto-reload from kicking in until you let go, like with all sticky launchers. I've been responsible MANY times for damn-near single-handedly winning games due to my usage of the weapon around cart choke-points and stuff, and will never stop singing its praises when I see people completely avoid an area they NEED to go to due to having 14 goddamn stickies all around a control point that they just can't do anything about without wasting a lot of time and likely getting killed. Also, RIP on losing all those games. I'm not an elitist, but I do feel that if you are consistently top-scoring, and are so far above others in your team, you can kinda take the blame off of yourself for that. I'm usually in the top few spots myself (hell, often top several games in a row, been playing since like, year 2 of the games launch), but I lack your technical ability with aim and stuff. My K/D is practically 1-1, but I find I get a lot of success by constantly switching classes during a game to exactly what my team needs (eg, quick fix medic if we are taking tons of damage in quick intervals, direct hit if we have some sentries we can't seem to shake, natasha if demo-knights are causing problems and the team needs healing, etc). Works out well for me, though certainly not for everyone. But yeah, Scottish Resistance? Boss weapon. Doesn't get enough love since it can't usually be used in the same way as the regular sticky launcher.
People don't like it for the same reason they don't like the Brass Beast, it forces you to take on a defensive role instead of constantly going for 3p1c fr@gs.
His team lost because of him. He made sure that the only time the enemy left spawn it was in groups. His team would trickle out one at a time. This means his team where constantly fighting 4v1s. He accidentally was coordinating enemy pushes and was making his team a man down.

I like to use the scotish resistance's 14 stickies to cover a whole area of the map, and then spam regular pipes at the people on the far side of it or trying to cross after I det part of the field to kill a prior crosser. you can hamper a whole team alone if none of them have or think to use the short circuit. if your team is helping, it means the enemy can't fight them effectively at all since they constantly have to worry about whether the ground is lava instead of being able to move and dodge naturally

You have the use the scottish resistance like your actual secondary in tandem with your primary. Apprenetly people find the loose canon to work well with the weapon since you can combo. (Never tried it though) Tldr: use it for traps not spam
When I had a dog shit pc and the game looked so busted I could barely see a model I just planted some stickies on the payload and I got some achievement for demo. Literally stick spammed and waited for the number on the UI for the PL to turn to 4-5 and just detonated. I fell in love with sticky spam.
The quality has improved so much, I remember watching your black box video and thinking how that's one of the best tf2 videos. Your videos have improved heavily, your commentary to gameplay always makes me entertained.
Why does everyone use this weapon so wrong? Just spam the stickies everywhere without any thought and if anyone aeroblasts them or shoots them, just use that 25% firing speed increase to replace them immediately. And if anyone tries to push forwards they will be either A: Too weak to fight or B: Blasted to kingdom come.
Yeah, I remember hearing some advice that the weapon isn't best used to cover multiple separate areas but rather one large area. That way your attention isn't split up and not all your stickies are gone upon a det. It's the slowest and biggest artillery Demo has!
11:27 was probably the nicest combo i’ll never see. i’m imagining u knocked the sniper onto point and then blew up your stickies. you are better accidentally then i am on purpose 😂
I'm so glad other people are discovering the wonder of the Scottish Resistance. It's my favorite weapon and I don't even main demo, because it's just so funny
Elmaxo is the best speedrunner in the category of 'elmaxo opening with entry level video game knowledge on videos that only people who are experienced with video games will watch'.
I remember using the Scottish resistance offensive defence, in outher words ussing it to apply pressure and block flank points, however the wierd thing is when i use it an scot and an engineer think it a good idea to walk onto the new stickies my reaction was "DIDNT YA SEE THE BLOODY BOMBS!!"
Just stand further back when you use the Scottish resistance. You become a hilarious artillery gun raining down a shower of stickies with the faster firing speed and larger amo pool.
What a great video for a cool and funny weapon (that I have totally not abused to bully and ruin the days of others on HaveFun Hightower for over half a year now), I’ll have to try it out sometime when I get the chance. Keep it up with the great vids Max!
2:40 honestly same. And I feel like a lot of players don't use weapons if they aren't strange now. It's why the kritz is rarely seen. Since no one wants to drop an arm and a leg for one.
As someone that is quite experienced with the Scottish Resistance, I'll give some extra fun tips with it. 1. It deals enough damage to erase a full overhealed, vacc ubered heavy with a single burst of damage. It might work through Fists of Steel. If not, fall damage should get them. 2. Stock uber can be displaced anywhere you want with a few stickies. Even across the map if you feel like it. 3. It can be used to push enemies with one sticky into another. Same goes to popping them up in the air for an easier kill.
You're still under utilizing the SR by only leaving one layer of traps, you just covered a few doors and never actually had a full 14 bombs out at one time. If you put some bombs a short distance away from the spawn traps you can cover people who survive or leave spawn after the first trap. You can also preemptively put bombs next to yourself to cover your retreat when they start to overwhelm you.
i love the scottish resistance setting multiple traps that i can detonate at my leisure just clicks right for me and makes me feel smart when i can make it work. Uh if you are going to set up traps behind you try to set them up not too close or you will blow yourself up and feel really dumb when you try to detonate one trap but you are too close to the other and the game things you are trying to sticky jump so it blows up both.
that was in the game until around 2015, when it got removed for being OP with purchasable taunts like conga. (it should totally still be allowed with stock taunts though)
@@UnisRapper there was a time where demos would sticky trap a doorway and then high five taunt around the corner so they can see the trap from third person
the only time I use the Scottish resistance is in x10, where you can place down, we'll say too many, and then have a good portion of the map be a sticky trap. they also take forever to arm, but considering the fact that the bootlegger has the hp boost and speed boost increased, surviving long enough isn't that hard.
"an update has been added to Team Fortress 2. Added Uber on respawn from Mannpower to all gamemodes to discourage spawncamping allowing the enemy team to be able to play the game"
Haven't even watched the video and already I'm thinking about how stupidly effective having a full 12 member demoman sticky camping team would be. Just have a bunch of demos at each spawn with maybe 1 demo doing the objective, and whenever someone walks out of spawn only one of the demos detonates all 8 of his stickies. Then it's the next demos turn while the previous demo starts putting his stickies back, so they never run out.
the reason the scottish resistance is so good is that people overestimate the arm time on the stickys, when they see them they think that they're not armed, so they go near them
I make camping more difficult by putting stickies on the cart as demo and then just wandering off to do other things with my grenade launcher, but as soon as the HUD indicates that someone's on the cart, kablooey. I'm being effective with my grenade launcher while also having the power to shut down the objective with a right click, as long as I pay attention to the HUD, which admittedly is difficult when I'm also battling other enemies.
Is uncanny how much elmaxo sounds like muselk. Yeah, both of them are Australian but it's a little more than just the accent that I find resembles each other
scottish resistance is super underrated. you can't use it like a stock sticky launcher, you have to spam 5 bombs before detonating. that's the correct "offensive" way of using it (area denial) and it counters airblast and other stuff like that because this spams faster than any class can clean. it just sucks at firing one by one. what i mean is, this you're not infantry with this, you're artillery. it isn't a sticky launcher replacement. it's another weapon entirely.

A fellow minefield enthusiast!? Blessed be those that play their own game within the game.
Calling a trade website reliable and then seeing the first item being sold by a Russian trade bot doesn't fill me with confidence.
To bad those were pretty much the only sponsor for tf2 channel😢😢😢
Now think of this when next time a UA-camrs don't want to limited by niche franchise like tf2
@@ammi5311 that's true. As much as other popular sponsors have other notorious issues, just selling food or anime posters is more honest than most of these trade sponsorships. Also your inkky profile picture really resonates with your comment.
I've been using this site to buy up stuff frequently for 2 months from now. It's sometimes have issues with sending trade offer to your account (you have to wait for 3-4 hours for items to get sent back in your Mannco inventory and re-send trade offer to your Steam account), but I don't have any issues with site apart from aforementioned. Most stuff is cheap as fuck, trade offers are almost instant, and i got 100% of items i have ordered
When you boosted that pootis up onto the roof, it just looked so natural... like it was one of his abilities or something. Great vid.
“Poop spelled backwards is poop.”

That's smart.
@@Kernwadino way lmao he forgot to change his account
scottish resistance is honestly so underrated...
You have the use the scottish resistance like your actual secondary in tandem with your primary.
Apprenetly people find the loose canon to work well with the weapon since you can combo. (Never tried it though)
Tldr: use it for traps not spam
When I had a dog shit pc and the game looked so busted I could barely see a model I just planted some stickies on the payload and I got some achievement for demo. Literally stick spammed and waited for the number on the UI for the PL to turn to 4-5 and just detonated. I fell in love with sticky spam.
15:24 , this is gold
The Scottish resistance is one of my favorite sticky bomb launchers because it makes you feel like jimmy neutron every-time you kill somebody
11:27 was probably the nicest combo i’ll never see. i’m imagining u knocked the sniper onto point and then blew up your stickies.
you are better accidentally then i am on purpose 😂

You know the game is never gonna die when a tf2 trading website sponsors elmaxo
8:49 TF2 Enjoyer that was me lol
I'm so glad other people are discovering the wonder of the Scottish Resistance. It's my favorite weapon and I don't even main demo, because it's just so funny
It's funny how in MVM it's the exact opposite and therefore one of the most busted weapons
From a humble Scottish resistance user, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ACKNOWLEDGING THE UTILITY OF THIS WEAPON!
Elmaxo is the best speedrunner in the category of 'elmaxo opening with entry level video game knowledge on videos that only people who are experienced with video games will watch'.
the short circut in my back pocket:
Damn, Elmaxo, you've outdone yourself with this video. I love how much effort you put into all the awesome videos you produce!
This is actually the best scottish resistance gameplay I’ve ever seen
I remember using the Scottish resistance offensive defence, in outher words ussing it to apply pressure and block flank points, however the wierd thing is when i use it an scot and an engineer think it a good idea to walk onto the new stickies my reaction was "DIDNT YA SEE THE BLOODY BOMBS!!"
Demoknight brainrot has made players forget the power of sticky spam
Just stand further back when you use the Scottish resistance. You become a hilarious artillery gun raining down a shower of stickies with the faster firing speed and larger amo pool.
What a great video for a cool and funny weapon (that I have totally not abused to bully and ruin the days of others on HaveFun Hightower for over half a year now), I’ll have to try it out sometime when I get the chance. Keep it up with the great vids Max!
7:59 i like how the enginner completly ignores them lmao
It pained me at 21:06 to see that medic walk out of that undetonated trap
Personally i never disliked campers, except maybe spawn campers.
12:33
sniper did a “Nice shot!” lmfao
2:40 honestly same. And I feel like a lot of players don't use weapons if they aren't strange now. It's why the kritz is rarely seen. Since no one wants to drop an arm and a leg for one.
How can you go from completely bald to "luscious" hair in one video WTF
As someone that is quite experienced with the Scottish Resistance, I'll give some extra fun tips with it.
1. It deals enough damage to erase a full overhealed, vacc ubered heavy with a single burst of damage. It might work through Fists of Steel. If not, fall damage should get them.
2. Stock uber can be displaced anywhere you want with a few stickies. Even across the map if you feel like it.
3. It can be used to push enemies with one sticky into another. Same goes to popping them up in the air for an easier kill.
i remember one time the entire team was demoman and we just spawn camped them with stickies
Class wars is dumb fun, love it
I believe you are as pure evil as this strategy is, as you used the Phlog.
Loved the sfm and general style of this video
You're still under utilizing the SR by only leaving one layer of traps, you just covered a few doors and never actually had a full 14 bombs out at one time. If you put some bombs a short distance away from the spawn traps you can cover people who survive or leave spawn after the first trap.
You can also preemptively put bombs next to yourself to cover your retreat when they start to overwhelm you.
I actually love the Scottish resistance, I love being able to lead people into a fucking minefield of stickies.
Why did the moment where the pyro switch weapons like 5 times make me laugh so hard
The resistance makes your primary your primary and your sticky bomb launcher as a trap setter.
i love the scottish resistance setting multiple traps that i can detonate at my leisure just clicks right for me and makes me feel smart when i can make it work. Uh if you are going to set up traps behind you try to set them up not too close or you will blow yourself up and feel really dumb when you try to detonate one trap but you are too close to the other and the game things you are trying to sticky jump so it blows up both.
21:21 Look at the stickies
Is this video just a trailer for “Can I get 10000 kills with The Scottish Resistence”.
I have a feeling
"Ballroom Kritz" is a great weapon name cheers to that medic
I’ll show you a baby crying

old title: TF2: Sticky Camping Is Pure Evil
Elmaxo: lays line of stickies along the ground
Blu demoknight: *"Bet"*
I think one of the coolest changes Valve could add for demoman is the ability to detonate traps while taunting
that was in the game until around 2015, when it got removed for being OP with purchasable taunts like conga.
(it should totally still be allowed with stock taunts though)
@@bruhmoment5465 why op?
@@UnisRapper taunting makes you go in third person meaning you can see more things rather than in first person
@@UnisRapper there was a time where demos would sticky trap a doorway and then high five taunt around the corner so they can see the trap from third person
In kingkong, my friend (irl) was playing dragons fury pyro and they I can’t believe this
I always set up in a hall or room on a map with 2 or more exits and pl;ay as the "Night Guard" with the scottish resistence
I recognize Switchy's animation work anywhere :D
Love his work almost as much as that prediction at 16:36
hello again :)
Change your pfp holy shit
@@SwitchySFM it is, the man.
Camping: Somehing that we all hate, and you finally went over it, I can finally rest
That's why pyro's and short circuit exist
the only time I use the Scottish resistance is in x10, where you can place down, we'll say too many, and then have a good portion of the map be a sticky trap.
they also take forever to arm, but considering the fact that the bootlegger has the hp boost and speed boost increased, surviving long enough isn't that hard.
i think i have a toxic relationship with this video
Man's got that super noodle hair 😂
6:05 men whimpering. great video!
What you need, is another Demo to sticky camp with you as depicted in the intro animation.
Love how max sounded less Australian when he tried to do snipers voice 😂
Is uncanny how much elmaxo sounds like muselk. Yeah, both of them are Australian but it's a little more than just the accent that I find resembles each other
*"The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, The heavies are pooting, and the demos are camping."*
2:11 I unironically have the exact same username as that demoman, down to the capitalized letters
scottish resistance is super underrated. you can't use it like a stock sticky launcher, you have to spam 5 bombs before detonating. that's the correct "offensive" way of using it (area denial) and it counters airblast and other stuff like that because this spams faster than any class can clean. it just sucks at firing one by one. what i mean is, this you're not infantry with this, you're artillery. it isn't a sticky launcher replacement. it's another weapon entirely.
