The reason why this weapon is so widely forgotten is because the devs have kind of made it to be forgotten. I started using the sticky launcher for that on a Hightower server, I so do love launching up on an unsuspecting sniper, sometimes they see me, and knowing that my entire purpose in life is to delete them, instantly go for me and win. But if they don’t see me, and then I launch somewhere around them, if I got lucky I’m on top of them and I delete them with the skullcutter, and then I spawncamp whatever entrance I’m at until I quickly meet my demise, I don’t have any healing, took damage from the fall, and possibly got hit by the sniper once before killing them, so all it takes is one or two enemies to come out and see me and I’m probably going to die.
The sticky launcher being your largest source of damage as Demo just says to me that, if this applies to you, you desperately need to practice hitting pipes
Protip for the sticky jumper. Plan your escape ahead of time and put your stickies where they need to be before engaging with the enemy. Once you've used your 4 pipes get tf out of there as soon as possible. Keep in mind an escape doesn't need to launch you across the map, you just gotta launch yourself somewhere that breaks line of sight and that would take a minute for anybody chasing you to catch up. By the time they get to you you'll have your pipes reloaded and hopefully have another couple stickies laid out for your next jump. An example of a good place to put your stickies is the bottom of one of the ramps on hightower. You can jump up through the ramp room and land on that small health kit in the corner if you're good at air strafing. You can also launch straight up and go over one of those high walls. I find that a good way to juke people is to land on top of one of those walls, people generally run around to the other side assuming that's where you'll land so you can wait for that then hop back down to the side you came from.
This is the reason I love swipez, really good with the sicky jumper and inspired me to use the loose cannon. Love landing double donks on scouts spazzing out mid air

the way you described the sticky jumper is also a description of the rocket jumper. one of the best primary weapons in the game being given up for some movement ability.
somthing you need to remember with the sticky jumper is melee specifically swords such as the eyelander and Scotsman'skullcutter or if you want to terrorize snipers more than usual use the ulapool cabier
I highly regard the sticky jumper because it lets me do one of the playstyles i have had alot of fun with. The Orbital Strike Demo just get a caber, a base jumper, and your trusty old sticky jumper and you yourself can become the explosive
i really like the sticky jumper, especially in Thundermountain, it's mobile and really fun to use. Although, i agree that every hit should count when you have it (pairing it with the Loch n Load is a pain in the ass, but still fun).
they should make a mantreads for demoman which makes a new bottle item crit while you're sticky jumping in mid-air. because triple-primary class seems scary as fuck
Another reason is cus the Rocker Jumper immediately launches you while the Sticky Jumper requires you to time your jump. So basically a lower skill floor.
The reason I use the sticky jumper is because I wanted to get good with the pipes and dunking in people that just spawned in and got to the field is fun
demoflight with the funny axe is too fun ngl, just flying to the enemy spawn and instantly DELETING any low health class in like 2 or 3 swings is just too much fun
With any risky sticky launcher (jumper, scot res, shield) the Iron Bomber is a must, the OP hitbox just makes directs more common and the actual listed pros are also insane. Such a busted weapon.
i never missed the sticky launcher while using the jumper. mainly because i cant hit my stickies to save my life. people just move out of the way, leaving traps the only option for me. so using the jumper is basically no downside
I am reminded of a clip I think I saw years ago where someone was playing arena with the sticky jumper and they basically teleported to the enemy spawn and just murdered everyone
The true power is using the caber and base jumper. Flying through the sky box before descending on some poor light class to instantly kill them and fly away before anyone even realize what happened
The sticky jumper is as its description says. A training weapon, not only can you learn how to effectively sticky jump .You can now practice on hitting your pipes. But it would be ignoring a huge chunk of players who use this to go to the enemy spawn and drop that medic before he has uber and to take down the tele that your team desperately needs gone. So the sticky jumper is a jack of all trades for a pipe god. Thanks for bringing this out to the community! I dont think that many people realize how powerful the sticky jumper is in correlation to perfectly timed pipes and pills.

So anyone gonna talk about the tissue and moisturizer on the desk at the beginning?
THATS MY DADS TEAM AT 1:00
i really like the sticky jumper, especially in Thundermountain, it's mobile and really fun to use. Although, i agree that every hit should count when you have it (pairing it with the Loch n Load is a pain in the ass, but still fun).
Why use crit with market gardener when u can use pan with stickyjumper.
the true chad strategy
they should make a mantreads for demoman which makes a new bottle item crit while you're sticky jumping in mid-air. because triple-primary class seems scary as fuck
I never realized how Demoman can effectively have three Primaries at once until now lmao I love this stupid class even more now

How did you lose this

Another reason is cus the Rocker Jumper immediately launches you while the Sticky Jumper requires you to time your jump. So basically a lower skill floor.
What about demoknight but with sticky jumper?
The reason I use the sticky jumper is because I wanted to get good with the pipes and dunking in people that just spawned in and got to the field is fun
demoflight with the funny axe is too fun ngl, just flying to the enemy spawn and instantly DELETING any low health class in like 2 or 3 swings is just too much fun
And along came bing soy to save the stickyjumper from it's curse of no montage.
Becuse caberjumper is just too fun.
I think loose cannon+sticky jumper+the weird lil hand grenade thing= gimmicky and fun as hell
Yeah you’re right, the rocket jumper gets way more attention, but the sticky jumper is a way way better actual weapon
That pokemon black and white music used in this video gave me a lot of nostalgia idk why.
This is why I wish you could equip sceodnarys as your primary. The sticky jumper with the sheild is INSANE
I use the sticky jumper a lot, it's so fun to just jump around piping people and then yeets to your next target.
This is the video that actually made me want to play demo man much love always will be my favorite video nice job max
With any risky sticky launcher (jumper, scot res, shield) the Iron Bomber is a must, the OP hitbox just makes directs more common and the actual listed pros are also insane.
Such a busted weapon.
your editing is top notch! great video
I sometimes run loose cannon and sticky jumper. Nothing's more satisfying than soaring through the air and double donking a poor unsuspecting sniper.
"Who am I? I forgot..."
-Somebody with dementia
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
Can I just say I fucking loved the 'connecting pipes like lego' joke
i never missed the sticky launcher while using the jumper. mainly because i cant hit my stickies to save my life. people just move out of the way, leaving traps the only option for me. so using the jumper is basically no downside
The sticky jumper is actually my go to when playing demo. It's very nice to use.
I dont think that many people realize how powerful the sticky jumper is in correlation to perfectly timed pipes and pills.
great vid! Thanks for the gen 5 music!
i love your writing and tone and editing
The sticky jumper and iron bomber is actually a really powerful combo
The sticky v rocket jumper is more so, large shots of burst movement vs consistent continuous fast momentum.
