It actually starts at 2:15 you can thank me later...😉
Edit! Thanx for the likes and comments
Thank you!!
Yeah, thanks. I was wondering...
Thanks a lot 😊
Thank you! :)
I would actually say at 3:08, but your 2:15 advice was very helpful: I as getting annoyed....
And 15-18 hours later......I have a bowl of oatmeal.
this the funniest comment ever !! love it ha ha ha same thing i was saying
Burt Reynolds lol
A week's worth of oatmeal
Right! Totally ridiculous. I had breakfast dinner and lunch waiting for a bowl of porridge
🤣🤣🤣
Now I finally know the difference between the different kinds of packaged oats. Steel-cut and old fashioned are my jams.

Wow! I'm writing this comment right after my breakfast. I was quite skeptical first about butter in my porridge, but the idea of chewy and smooth in one porridge cup sounded tempting, so I tried. And wow! Never again without butter, it's so good! Thank you!
One of the best hosts on UA-cam! You speak very clearly and with just enough life to catch one’s attention. Very informative!
Kim AndGetMe are you describing the person in the video or a zombie? 😂
My mom taught me to put a bit of salt when the oatmeal when cooking it. It makes a world of difference. I can always tell when cooked oatmeal is missing the salt. I'm making your roasted oats tonight, it looks good.
salt👍☝
It takes tin metal taste out of the oatmeal. Once you try it you'll never cook oatmeal without salt again
Tried your receipt without the butter but you are right. This was really a life changing oatmeal. Thanks so much. Now I love breakfast.I will include them in my meal plans from today on. I was used to overnight oats but I didn’t like them. Just ate them.
FINALLY!!!!! A totally different twist on how to make oatmeal yummy! Crispy oats flakes!!??
Wow!! Total game changer! Making this tomorrow!!! Thank you!🙏🏾
U lost me at " u gotta let them soak for the rest of the day" I wanna eat it now
Always plan ahead =p
Just made it and I feel like this is the first time I've tasted oats. This is like having creamy popcorn for breakfast.
Wow! Great and thorough information! Always learning something new each day. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
This was the most beautiful thing I ate for breakfast. My kitchen smells like christmas now, thanks to the roasted buttery oats
Hello Nicole , Like always I’ve learned something new and delicious , I love porridge!

strangely enough I had to think about you and your channel yesterday. and the thought crossed my mind how great it would be if you could share more recipes along with information about the ingredients with us.
turns out my wish came true 😊
Your wish is my command! :) Thanks for thinking of me!
I saw it and I just love it .. I have it every morning..you’re simply the best ..thanks big fan!:]
We love the way you made this oatmeal recipes ☺️ There is so many ways combinations what you can make ☺️ You did a great job ☺️
This video made me so hungry! You seem so friendly, Nicole, it's like a good friend shared a super secret recipe with you as a birthday gift.
Awesome stuff, as always.
You're so sweet, Jonathan. I really do feel like I'm talking to my friends when I make these videos. I do consider you all part of my community. I'm grateful for your friendship!
Heck yeah! 😊🌎✨
I have to agree, best oats ever. I usually don’t eat oatmeal, I don’t like it. But my husband went on a diet of oatmeal for breakfast, salad for lunch and lost a lot of weight, so I wanted to give it a try. This I can eat!
Hello how're you doing hope you're safe due to the covid 19 pandemic?
You make the absolute best videos. I have watched most of them now. Thanks much!
OMG!!!! What a total game changer!!! I made it just this morning (after starting it last night) and it is SOOO good! Very creamy!!! I used the vegan "Earth Balance Butter" and vanilla soy milk and WOW! I divided it into 4 servings and it packed 10.5g of protein per serving! And I paired it with my 5 minute steeped Earl Grey tea too! I felt like I was having a gourmet meal! 😀❤☕ The toppings definitely do taste like buttered popcorn for sure! Thanks again! I was going to post pictures for you on how it turned out but UA-cam doesn't allow it. My daughter, whom I've been trying to get on board with oatmeal, even liked it! And SOOO filling! This is definitely now going to be a staple recipe for me; thank you!!!! 😘
Mira the Optimist If I had a Poke ball I’d capture you
Mckillahbeans Yes LOOOOOOOL
Of course it tastes soooo good... Butter makes most things taste good and there's soooo much butter in proportion to the oats. But hey, if you enjoy it then go for it. I don't think I will try them. They probably taste amazing then I won't ever be able to go back to healthy oats!😁
been looking for ways to add crunch to porridge , THANK YOU !!
A cup and a half of oats is supposed to last a week? I eat a full cup for a single meal, and that's barely enough.
Scale it up then! No problem.
David A. Same in the breakfast with an omelette and other stuff.
A week's worth of porridge??? How do you store it - leave it in the saucepan for the week or put it somewhere else? I 💚 porridge
Exactly
David A. I used to have one cup too but now I have half a cup with 1tbsp of chia seeds and 3 seeded n chopped dates soaked overnight in water or milk. Then in the morning I sprinkle 1tbsp of flaxseeds on top. These 2 tbsp of seeds really fill me up and are packed with omega 3 fatty acids and much more.
I came across your oatmeal recipe on UA-cam and I tried it, it was creamy and delicious . I love it. Thank you for sharing the recipe.
THANK YOU.!!
I have tried the over night oats and Yuk.. I agree they are too soupy. A good breakfast like this is worth a little extra time the day before. Thanks again.
U can make oats thick or thin in every application
Hello how're you doing hope you're safe due to the covid 19 pandemic?
Made this sooo many times since I’ve watched your video. It’s the only way my family will eat oatmeal. Thank you
Buttered oats is one of the best hacks I've tried. My house smells amazing too. Now, I'm hungry. 😁😁😁
This is my first time on ur blog. And I just love your oat meal recipe . Thanks for such creamy yummy tasty morning oats 😋👍
I loved your this recipe, thank you so much for sharing it. I never liked eating oatmeal but now it has become my daily breakfast. Thank you so much.
Wow! Thank you for adding the toasted oatmeal flakes idea. You've inspired me!
Hello how're you doing hope you're safe due to the covid 19 pandemic?
Oh Yum!!! This looks amazing.. and if it was done once a week with my other meal prep.... fabulous!!! Thanks for sharing!
Hello how're you doing hope you're safe due to the covid 19 pandemic?
Thank you for your recipe. Love your energy and vibrancy. I will be doing this recipe soon. I can already smell it from here lol. Subscribed btw,
I made this and the flavor was nutty and yummy. I ate the crunchy topping plain too. Thanks! I couldn't find a written recipe anywhere on the website so i wrote it here.
I love the toasted part at the beginning! I will use coconut oil or a little vegan butter.Great video❤️
Best oatmeal ever 🤗. Thanks for the recipe. I need to share this with my twin sister.
Very good recipe, and I love your approach and attitude in your explanation
We have been cooking oatmeal for years. We love it. Sometimes we cook with cherries and dried cranberries. Just a teaspoon of brown sugar. A teaspoon of maple syrup. A great tasting oat with a touch of sweet. Your recipe sounds great too.
Thank you for making this video. I made the oatmeal and it's freaking delicious. =D
Amazing! I love oatmeal! This looks delicious!
I love the style of your video, interesting and delicious! love the bit of history about the Romans! Thank you, will try! 😄
After school porridge trauma, I am just falling in love with oats again! Thank you for this!! I will try them all.. including the tai chi! 🤣❤❤
Awesome idea of cooking the oats with butter, set some aside and use that as a topping. I tried to blend the oats with frozen fruits and coconut milk and add nuts and seeds as a topping. It's light and delicious
I love how you give us perfected recipes!!💖 its like America's Test Kitchen. Thank you!!
Oh, now that's a huge compliment - thank YOU!
i haven't done overnight oatmeal yet, glad i watched this video first. i see now why you start on sunday morning and finish these up by sunday evening. i can't wait til this weekend to use your method instead. and thanks for all the suggested add-ons, plus the tip about the toasted oats.
Thanks for the recipe. I Love it. I also Love your personality. Fun and happy - May God keep you this way.
This recipe looks great! Really looking forward to try it and grow it into a habit. As we have a strong family history of Diabetes and Cardio-Vascular diseases, recipe(s) such as this could really get the family started on oats and other whole-grains. We'll remember to reduce the butter too (thumbs up)
Absolutely adapt as you need. Let me know how it goes! Happy cooking.
I eat oats every day so i look for different ways to cook it. Toasting the oats first is a grt idea, so I'll use coconut oil instead of the butter. Thanks for the recipe
Well done for the no nonsense approach on how to make overnight oats!
I hadn't seen this video in a few years... I have to try this recipe again, loved it!
I love oatmeal, my fav app gave an oatmeal tip today, now this. Yes!!
Awesome!
The title doesn’t mention “healthy porridge” so I don’t know why all of you are judging her ways of cooking them. 😂 to each their own.
I would love to share a bowl of healthy porridge with u lil mama...;)

Was gonna make a comment about Karens hating on cooking videos, but then I noticed your name and realized that it might come across the wrong way.
I heard a lot about overnight oats but thank you for showing a way that oats can be cooked using few steps. A delicious and healthy way of starting a day through breakfast. Godspeed to you and to the show.
I'm glad I found your video, I tried it and totally enjoyed it. I wasn't much of an oatmeal fan but now, I think I will need to reconsider 😃
Method:
Cooking starts at 2:26. Method about 4:24
In a medium sauce pan with a medium flame, add 4 tablespoons salted butter. When it's melted, add 1.5 c oats and toast.
Stir to coat and keep stirring so they don't burn. When they smell toasty they're done.
Recipe:
1.5 c toasted oats. Reserve half cup as topping.
3 cups milk.
Keep watching 4:26.
Thank you!
A nice sweet personality giving out free information for our benefit! how about putting away the knives, folks!

The lady was right ... a game changer! Really tasty and delicious! I used coconut oil as a butter replacement, then Coconut and Almond milk. All worked well for me.
I liked and subscribed to your channel. I love oatmeal. The recipes you created are easy to follow, and they look nutritious and yummy. Here’s to a healthier me in 2020! 🥳🍜
I dunno what everyone talking about, this looks amazing! Trying it today!
Tried it right after I left the comment above. GAME CHANGER!!!!
I like my overnights oats and they are actually pretty tasty depends on what you put in them? No complaints here. I like my oats overnight or cook on the stove
Wow... simply wow!
I made this with 1 1/2 c Almond Milk and it was fabulous too. Also, one morning I was craving this and didn't want to wait 6 hours for the oaks to soak, so I reduced the Almond Milk by 1/4c and let them soap for only 1 1/2 hours.... it came out almost as good.
I've always been a grits with soft boil eggs fan but your recipe has made me a hot Porridge fan. FYI... it's also made my lady friend love visiting me for breakfast more often... so THANKS bunches for that too.
You're delightful, thank you!
I discovered that savory oats are a thing. Put some cheddar in there, pinch of salt and pepper and top with an egg. Its really good.
I LOVE savory porridge. Great suggestion!
I love savory oats and literally everyone I know thinks it's soo gross
I made something like that when I used to go camping. It’s slow cook it up and add chunks of venison meat to it. I’m sure some people think it’s disgusting but I thought it was pretty good
Me too! I add tomatoes, cream cheese, some meat or olives etc.
Where is Gordon Ramsey when you need him lol oats with egg, meat, tomato? I don’t even want to make an effort of making it, but I will try it.
Best oatmeal recipe I ever had! Yummy!
Love your enthusiasm!
Tried this “hack” and I love it. Thanks
Just to let you in on a product called " Coach's Oats " cracked whole grain and toasted. Chewy creamy delish!
Tastes heavenly with vanilla extract or some toffee flavor
I like the way of giving the information clearly and step by step, am going to do what u say and will give u feed back
Also am going to watch and follow the channel I can see there a lot to learn what in videos more than information
I've been eating oatmeal daily for 17 years. Something to consider trying...
Savory... yes, savory profiles with oats; cheese, sauces, meats, and vegetables, etc..
My philosophy on oats is that it's a "vessel" to exploit much like rice, baked potatoes, tortillas, sandwich bread, pie dough, corn flakes, etc.
Interesting. Never thought about oatmeal that way. Ty!
Once she said "this step takes 10-15 mins..." I passed
I really enjoyed your video and your awesome attitude put a huge smile on my face, nothing more beautiful than a happy smiling lady!! I will be making oatmeal for the first time in my life and I'm actually a pretty good cook. Thank you for the helpful tips I especially like the idea of pan frying the oats for added flavor and crunchiness. I will now experiment with the oats until i create my own version and of all the videos I saw you were my favorite!! Ricardo
I’ve been a subscriber for years, but I’m just now seeing this…. I wish it hadn’t taken me so long!!
Oooh... I am so gonna try this!! Right now I mix instant oats with rolled oats (and a tablespoon of broken flaxseed) and milk, microwave it for 2.5 minute. This makes the instant oats creamy but it leaves some bite from the rolled oats. then, to instantly make it a good eating temperature, I throw in frozen raspberries and blueberries.
But, while it's healthy, warm and convenient, the flavor leaves something to be desired. Time to start buttering up those oats! :)
Sounds like you've got your own recipe down to a science -- I love that! That's a great idea mixing in the instant oats for instant creaminess when you're using the micro. Brilliant!
Looks phenomenal!!! The other day I tried for the first time Oat Milk and it's delicious. I wonder if I can use that instead of cow milk.
Hello how're you doing hope you're safe due to the covid 19 pandemic?
Thank you for sharing your recipe.. Great!
You were right on! Incredible difference and yes I'll be sneaking
Oats during the day😁thank you!
Overkill ... if you start with COLD water/almond milk in old fashioned oats and cook it all slowly to a boil, cook for 1-2 minutes after it boils. The oats get creamy naturally without adding in gobs of calorie laden butter and milk. I agree it is about technique, but but using milk and butter to make them creamy is cheating. Oh, and if you like the toasted oat flavor, then toast the oats in a dry pan (sans butter) then throw COLD liquid over them. Again, they'll get creamy naturally but with the nutty taste.
'Sans butter 'what do you mean?
"Sans" means "leave out".
"Sans" means without. I agree...I wish this recipe did not have butter in it...
I prefer ohne to sans. Oh, and abraxsis's idea doesn't cook it enough.
Substitute with what milk and butter you prefer that's d key, that's how I get ideas.
I do the toasting in the oven on a cookie sheet without butter and cook the oats in a microwave with water then add milk or whatever.
I tried this recipe and I think it is the best oatmeal ever! The taste is amazing (I do not even have to add sugar)! I will never eat again "overnight oats". Simply delicious.
This looks very tasty...will have to give it a try.
mashed sweat potato , cinnamon , oats = heaven !
Ohhhh, that sounds awesome!
I must try that!
I really like how you filmed the flame being set to low/high whenever you give that instruction. Nice attention to detail!
First time in five years watching this great video!❤
ur vids are easy to watch, thank you :)
I've never seen anyone overact, armwave, squint, eyeroll, gesture, frown, lip curl, and nod or waggle their head while talking so much on a recipe video before. 😆
Too true but wasn't it amusing ? I thought she was auditioning for a part in a Soap Opera and maybe she was.
I know. She wore me out.
🤮
She has changed very much - NOT for the better
Bingo!
I got confused and drank the oats..
this looks amazing!! it took a more effort to cook and babysit it that's what I dislike but I am always looking for new ideas to make rolled oats more attractive to me lool thank you!
Thnx for this video. Gonna try this.
Other toppers... Nuts (walnuts and real maple syrup is my fav) Honey and almonds. Pecans and diced strawberries... (mix a savory with a sweet)...
The aroma alone makes this recipe worth making! It tastes great too! I just let them soak overnight on the stove and the next morning they were ready to heat up and eat for breakfast. Yum!
I love this! I remember reading . about how grains should be cooked for hours.. Or a longer than we cook them. I will make this with coconut oil instead of butter. And with almond milk. I hope it taste good.. Thank you so much. Great idea! Did you sweeten the oatmeal or does it get sweeter on its own?
Girl, I have been million years ahead of you. Let's keep that straight, with that being said great message.
Add raw Brussels sprouts to your finished oatmeal, it tastes horrible and bitter but you can now say you did it and when people ask why, just throw Brussels sprouts at them.
Cujucuyo there's undeniable logic in this comment
Cujucuyo 🤣😂
I bet it would taste good if you roast them in butter before adding them to the oats.
yes. this is a comment i can relate to in a deep spiritual way
LOL
On Sunday.. ehem! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 That was super funny. We missed you !!!... Liked and shared! 🙌
I missed you guys! More coming quicker and sooner -- I promise! And THANK YOU for liking and sharing! xo
I tried making my true elements whole oatmeal this way and it turned out totally different from ususal, it was worth trying. i love the new variant even more
Great video! Thank you!
I Love her Enthusiasm!
Take it!
In India they make a savory oatmeal that consists of a porridge like base with a cup of plain yogurt. This is tempered with mustard seeds, curry leaves, Asafoetida powder all in a little gingelly oil. Finally a little lemon juice and a dash of salt. You can add a spicy hot Indian pickle or some savory Indian snacks for a crunch to top it off. A very health option!
Ohhhhh, that sounds divine!!
What is this dish called? Love to try it!
Thanks! I love Indian food and I love how this turns out!
jaresh What do you call the dish in India?

Love your spirit 👌keep it up
OMG!! This recipie is really a game changer! I hated oats but now i can eat them
