this is perfect timing, mine just went and i cant wait weeks for a shop to open up
It's a completely doable job just make sure you mark your driveshaft properly and torque correctly. Thank you for watching!
I use to love my 06’ tundra 4.0L auto trans. Bought with 35k miles, had to get an R&R trans put in by Toyota. 83k miles later on new trans, trans coolant line in radiator brakes and floods my trans with antifreeze. Five carrier bearings, and 6 flushes at a price of $1085,plus a new radiator, and still shuddering at 40mph. Started after trans line in radiator broke. Oh and all new u-joints.Time for a Subaru.
Great content! Can tell you put allot of effort in , also love the tundra man. Keep up the great work
That really means a lot and I really appreciate you watching. It's crazy learning the new video editing skill and also how much time it adds to any project, but I really enjoy the process and giving back to our community.
No need to remove drive shaft. Just separate the junction
You ever figure out your shutter ?
You ever figure out the brake shutter? My '03 does the same thing.
Most of the issue was solved by Replacing the center carrier bearing
You obviously just reused your u-joints. Just super careful with the caps when disassembling and reassembling? I have my carrier bearing but now I’m second guessing whether I just just replace the u joints so I don’t screw up current ones.
Sounds like brake rotors are the issue, changed my “bad” carrier bearing and really didn’t make that much of a difference
I hope you are right cuz I'm really sick of the shutter. It's on my short list of Maintenance things to do coming up. Thanks for watching the videos
@@EvergreenOverland I concur. You could just start with having your rotors turned. hard braking can cause them to warp. If it is not bad it can be turned out.
Greaseable u joints aren't as strong as non-greaseable.
Yeah maybe I should just toss the ones I have on and not worry about them.being greasable. Thanks for the comment
