Hopefully I can be entertaining and inspiring to you along the way, but mostly I am here to get outside and have some fun!

Great review!

I checked your website. The red boots are for 3.5" max lift. I have a 7" lift. Any suggestions?
Whats the length of the CVJ vs the OEM ones?
They are standard OEM length. Only a boot that’s offering more coverage for additional articulation at the joint
Welcome back and congrats on the new addition to the family! Excited to see this Sequoia build come together-it’s gonna be the ultimate family adventure rig!
Thanks it feels good to be back!
I "temporarily" bought my '02 for moving duty....8 years ago. Since then I've put 100k+ miles on it (almost 400k total) and haven't been interested in replacing it. Awesome road trip vehicle, moving van, tow rig, or family bus. It's unfazed by weather, road condition, or pavement (or non-pavement) type. Have fun making memories with your family with the dark horse of the Toyota family!
Good to know. I’m looking forward to breaking it in out on the trails. What were you towing with it?
@@EvergreenOverland Mostly vehicles on a flat bed. Largest load was an apartment full of stuff in the back and my brother's car on a flatbed full of stuff too. Probably max+ the GVWR on that one. It was squatting quite a bit. Didn't seem to mind. Drove fine for 500 miles like that.
Nice!
There's a reason why we fondly refer to these as "The poor Man's Land Cruiser". I love my first gen Tundras.
You’re not kidding. It feels like definitely the best bang for your buck in the used Toyota market
That in cab space is so nice with a family.
It’s pretty large for sure
I have this. We use it every time we camp.
It’s a great option
Se pueden hacer para tacoma 2003 4×4 doble cabina
Yeah, I've been drooling over those cases for a long time too. Been wanted between 2 and 4 of them to outfit my overlander, but, ooh, the price! These are the best though. They're about 30% thicker aluminum than their competitors. Nice!
Are you saying they’re 30% thicker than the ALU box? Eventually, I want to get my hands on one to do a side-by-side comparison video.
@@EvergreenOverland I don't remember exactly what brand, but that sounds familiar. Yes, the others were 2 mil thick and Zarges were 3 mil. Watching another Zarges video now!
any issues since install?
I'm probably way late on this, but it looked like to me that you didn't consider the amperage of the switches on your control panel. Each position has a dedicated fuse in the main fuse/relay box... so switch 6 on the control panel has a dedicated 5 amp fuse tied to that switch position.... and if you're hooking that to a 30amp light bar or radio (or whatever), you could be in for a surprise. Again, each switch position on your control box has a dedicated fuse in the main fuse/relay box. Just and FYI
Not to be used over open fire? Otherwise great review!
Clear as mud
Do you know what the before and after weight difference from taking the hitch and Factory bumper off to going to the new setup is??
Why so much for a rebuilt axl? Seems higher than an OEM price!
did you not need to top up the fluid in the diff?
Fire
I know this is a older video but i just got done doing this mod for my 05 Sequoia. Definitely feels way better than the stock calipers but honestly feels like it was supposed to be this way from the factory 🤣 feels normal now when trying to slow this beast down so 100% worth the upgrade! I skipped out on the steel braided lines because I've heard many people saying it made no difference but certainly doesn't hurt to replace them! Toyota definitely should have had a huge recall on all first gens Sequoia and tundra brakes because they are very unsafe from factory. Cant imagine trying to tow something with stock setup! Im sure many of these trucks were totaled due to rear ends and other crashes because of the baby brakes Toyota put on.
I’m planning to do this myself, I’ve already done the 13WL calipers and I did feel a difference but I want to go bigger. This past weekend I changed out all of the brake hoses to steel braided and I didn’t believe the hype myself but they do work. I used the the stop tech front lines which is the same for the tundra (stop tech 950.44007) the rear lines are only listed for the gx460,gx470 and 4 runner but they work in the sequoia (stop tech 950.44507) I don’t know if they were labeled wrong but I used the left line on the right side and Vice versa just because the angle of the banjo fitting part of the line matched up. The center hoses over the axles I used were the Apache off road 20 inch lines, they were the only hoses I found that kind of matched up. I didn’t use the center bracket that bolts to the rear upper control arm that holds the hoses in because those lines were not 20 inches long (more like 18.5) and they were stiff. 2 rubber lined p-clamps and I was able to keep them from rubbing on each other and hitting anything on the frame. Hope this helps.

2yrs no more videos?
Getting back in the game very soon. Please keep an eye out
right on brother 🤙 no worries! I know you got the dad life going. I been watching your videos for a while. I have a 2004 DC with full BFF armor. I just did a 2600mile trip this summer through 4 states, offroad and some rock crawling on hells revenge. My goal for 2025 is to go up from 33s to 35s. I just ordered the archive shock relocation and I’ll have the full archive setup🙌 nearing completion, lol! What am I saying? Never done 😂 I’m in the evergreen 🌲 too! God bless you and your family 🙏🏼
Can you change the colours?
Very professional and practical review. Thanks for sharing details on how much noise they both make!
Awesome rig man! Love what you have done with it!
The quality of Stanley cook set looks outstanding straight away and I like how clean it looks, without any bull...it.
Great review ✌🏻 Thanks 🙏🏻👏🏼
Great video, looks like the Stanley won. shame about the sticking out handals. I'm not a fan if that
I like the solid handles on the Stanley pot for hanging over a fire from a tripod with 4 lengths of chain and two lengths of wire under the handles. Works great for stewing.
How are they holding up? I replaced my lifted Tacoma with a Napa one (was on a time crunch as I was travelling with the vehicle the next day for work). That axle only last under a year, boot on my outer side is ripping again.
BIG tip here! After the installation, CVJ recommends rolling your vehicle 1/4 rotation of the tire and checking to make sure none of the ribs on the inner boot are touching. If they are, you need to clip the small diameter clamp on the inner boot, slide the boot outward slightly, and roll the vehicle another 1/4 of a rotation of the tire and check again. Do this at least 3 or 4 times, and then use the extra clamp included with the kit to replace the one you clipped. All in all, this was a great video, I WISH i could say I did mine in 57 min lol
Are still happy it’s this heater? Have you considered a follow up review, if you still have it, and have not done one already?
Good content 👍 I’ll like to know what kinda banjo bolt/brake line to use, does it come in the kit?
Seriously considering this on my 02 Sequoia. It's on 33s and factory brakes, loaded up with a sleeping platform and soon it'll have a steel bumper. The factory brakes are absolutely not up to spec anymore- at speed, I can plant my foot in the brakes and it's nowhere near enough stopping power to get even close to locking wheels or engaging ABS. I can't imagine trying to tow something.
You should do it. I just bought a first gen Sequoia to build and I’m going to do the same upgrade.
Is this set the same as the even heat camp pro?
Yes it is
Any update on condition of your cvj axles? Are they still working good and how are inner and outer boots holding up
Are there any extended boots for a 2019 jeep cherokee KL
Stanley for the win!👍👍
@pifle9471 il y a 14 secondes that GSi kit sounds like a tin can walmart-made-in-china kit dressed with high heels. Stanley all the way.
You can use a 16 inch rim, but it has to be from certain years. I have 16 inch rims from a 2015 Tacoma on my 02 sequoia and I have the 13WL calipers which are the same size as the 14WA calipers. There isn’t much space between the rim and the caliper but they do not scrape.
I’m glad to see the mods and tips worked
I'm more embarking on this project to seal my bed from mosquitoes
trying to do this cant find the brake lines that would be compatible!
What wheels spacers do you run? do you need them to fit the brake upgrade?
🎊 For future modifications, whenever you rivet two pieces of material together (that you want waterproof), put your bead of silicone/sealant BETWEEN the two materials (like a gasket) NOT on top (like a band-aid). Not only is it bulletproof, but it’s invisible‼️ This is how we waterproof sheet metal construction in the Arctic…and silicone is workable at 50° BELOW ZERO, also.
A person only forgets to lock that handle one time!! Great video!!
You may want to put some silicone under it, to make sure it is completely sealed! :)
Can you send me the parts number for the brake lines you use please
Can you please send me the part number for the breka line with banjo bolt please
Good review! Thank you!
What is the 5 lb adapter piece doing exactly? Is it a new door you install?
No, it’s an insert bracket that mounts to the same four mounting holes so it just centers the 5lb tank
nice!
