How To Pull a Dent Out of a Car Fender
The first step in pulling out a dent is by using a special PDR Cold Glue. This glue is a unique adhesive that is designed for pulling out large soft dents in a car.
This PDR Glue is placed on PDR tabs and attached to a PDR Slide Hammer. Then by sticking the cold glue onto the correct place on the car fender, you will be able to pop the dent out.
Now, about 99% of the time this method will not complete the dent repair.
This is because you will need to understand proper metal movement.
When a car metal panel gets dented, it does not just pop in. And since that doesn't happen, the dent will not also just pop out.
Once you understand how to properly move the metal, you will know that some additional PDR tools will be needed to shape and form the metal back into its original condition.
This is done with hammers and knockdowns to "push back" the metal from the outside. By doing this the metal will go back into the dented area.
Once the pressure is taken off from the crown, then PDR tools can be used to gently push out the dent. This dent pushing process is done with gentle and slow pressure from behind the dented panel. This way the metal can be shaped and formed back to its original condition.
