My wife and I got a shed put into our back yard that was going to be my work shop. We got 3 quotes to get electricity installed and all 3 were over $2,000!!! So, I spent $1,500 and put together a small solar panel setup that has solar panels, a charge controller, 560+ amp/hr of AGM batteries, and a couple of power inverters. For the radio, I used a basic Bluetooth car radio, have a 4 channel Kicker amp powering a pair of 5 1/4” coax car speakers in the ceiling, and of course a single 8” subwoofer that was on clearance mounted in the ceiling too in a 0.6 cubic foot sealed enclosure! It cranks!!!! Sounds great for the entire back yard, and the solar system puts out enough power to run an 8k BTU window unit so I can work on things in air conditioning!!! Of course, I wired up a power and ground wire on the work bench so I can test amps and radios too!
@@kirbybradbury-mills6781 a 50 watt solar panel will put out around 2.5 amps of current in direct sunlight. So that will be enough to keep your battery charged while playing the radio, as long as you are not cranking the volume, and as long as nothing else is connected to it. A car battery is not ideal for that setup, but can be used for now. This is because a car battery is designed to put out a LOT of power over a very short time(like starting the engine), but they don’t do good for putting out a small amount of power for a long time. For that, you need more of an AGM battery, or you can also use a “multipurpose” battery as they are typically cheaper than AGM batteries, you will just need to monitor the water level in the battery. Also, getting a charge controller would be VERY beneficial as it would prevent over charging of the battery when you aren’t playing the radio. Do a search for solar panel off grid basics. It will help you out a lot.
I did this when i was like 13 in my room… instead of buying a house stereo i picked up a deck speakers amplifier and subwoofer from my friends and ran a car battery and used my car battery charger. I used to shake my houses windows lol
Yup, this was big back in the late 80's early 90's, did the same thing.....have the same thing in my garage, way cheaper and louder than any home stereo that's for sure
This is what I did in my garage 4 years ago, still running it, audiopipe txx bdc4 12" with a 500 watt rockford fosgate amp and 4) 6.5" three way regular speakers......it bumps, my wife hates it cause it make all the dishes in the kitchen rattle.....lol
I remember me and my older brother doing this in our room we were 14 and 18 . Had a pioneer single deck with a 12" Pioneer Premier tsw-3002spl banging music in our room lol our mom hated it....Good times 🥲
Xbox one power supply works great and is cheap. I use them in my garage setup. If I remember output is 12.5V 17.5A which is plenty for a head unit and/or small 4 channel amp. Can even run a subwoofer amp if it's small enough. Xbox power supply like 25 bucks online.
Also I use black shrink wrap tubes onto the tin waterproof clear connectors as well because those things are known to have small holes from the heat and sometimes the melted metal is exposed but not visible to naked eye
An ac to dc inverter from a Rv is what you want they come in multiple different amperage like 60, 75, 100 they will power everything including a subwoofer amplifier with multiple subs.
I added a radio in my garage with a power supply for a double din with a set hifonics 6. 5 component and a skar svr 8 subwoofer running off a 4 channel jensen amp budget bill but it sounds good and rattle the garage haha everything runs on the 30 amp power supply 240 watt to sub and 80 watt each to the 6.5 I love it!!!
You need to do one with multiple amps n speakers in the house for a huge house build. Maybe like a home theater system .build the speaker boxes for front, rear , center channel ,sub, and 2 more sets to do 7.1 stereo.we would kill for that video
this can be also your simple test bench...I have one too, and it is portable, but it is without a battery, because I dont need to save the head unit's settings yet...so, I have a 13,5 V / 40 A power supply, a 2x95 WRMS - 4 Ohms / 2x150 WRMS - 2 Ohms / 1x300 WRMS - 4 Ohms bridgeable 2 channel amp with a bass knob on RJ11 connector, and an ancient Sencor head unit without bluetooth, but with 4 fullrange RCA outputs, 1 switchable mono RCA output for sub (I dualled this), front aux input, rear aux input - where I can wire a bluetooth adapter easily (and of course 4 speaker outputs)...these 3 things I've mounted on a piece of wood, so I can hook it up everywhere I want, and also I have a bonus option: I can plug into amp any RCA output type depends on what kind of speaker I have to test out, not just adjusting the amp, because the sub output from the head unit have some kinda boosted bass signal like the fullrange outputs, so with the same amp gain more power comes out of the amp for the sub, especially when I plug this signal to the amp's both inputs...so...
I just use a 110rms per channel 5.1 a/v reciever that is4ohm capable on 2 channels, a PC power supply to power a rzr2500.1 hooked to the recievers sub out, and a sdr 18 in 4.5cubes tuned to 28hz.
When I was a teenager I would throw house parties on all car audio equipment I also used to do a little music production and I often used car audio as my play back device because I manly made music so I could listen to what I wanted to hear in my car
Thanks for the nice video Parker. I had a friend wanting to do this exact thing and I tried to explain it to him but I could tell it was to much so I'm sending him your videos. 🤛🤛
They sell 30A switching power supplys on Amazon for like $30ish and it powers a head unit and a toro R2 mono block(320w or so rated at 14.4) to most of it's 12v potential anyway.
I have a Chinese power supply off of Amazon if you run a wire off of each terminal and run them as one for each the power ground you can get up to 15 volts
I used a laptop with my garage system. Had a charger on 2 70ah batteries with a 2 into 1 RCA to AUX cable on 2 amps, 12in sub, 2 kicker 6x9s. Great job! Keep up the great content!
I purchased the same kinetic battery to use as a 2ndary battery for the rear, but it wasn't enough. Kept peaking and dipping in sound level. Granted, yes, it says up to 1,000 watts RMS, and I am running 1,800-2,000 watts RMS between the 4 channel Orion XTR750.4 and CT-SOUNDS 1000.1D Monoblock so I did the same thing as this b4 seeing this vid as of today. Currently, I am extremely pleased with my Yellowtop Optima. I am using a battery isolator. However, the volt meter doesn't dip below 14.2 volts, slamming it close to full for an hour, driving on highway and interstate. So, no complaints. I still have my old-school pair of 10-inch 3-way home system speakers and a pair of 12 3 ways to use in the garage with my old head unit since I upgraded the ride with a Maxspeedingrods 7inch android head unit.
Anytime you need anything dude or you're looking for something hit me up I got a little bit of everything and shit we ain't but like what 30 45 minutes away from each other but I'm fixing to message you videos look good man keep them up I kind of want to get into doing it as well so that might be something we can talk about here in the future but the smart truck is almost alive
I got a jvc home audio receiver and a behringer 2500w pro audio amp in my shed. I have some old kenwoods towers and a kicker 12 in a 4th order blowthru ported in through the back to save on space. Sounds really hood for what it is.
Hey Parker you have the best dream job! Bumping bass and finding subs that surpass your expectations. I have a request can you meter the spls for a power acoustic gothic 12 inch. I know you did a review of them, but that was before you had your monstrous Amp and decibel meter. I think for a budget sub they may surprise a lot of people. Thanks bro. Also test your subs with the group bass patrol. Keep up the killer reviews

can i leave the power supply on all week or i should get a battery to keep It on? its a 150 amp battery charger and only leaving it for 6 amps/12 volts.
I did your exact setup, and it sounds like the ground is missing. You know how your negative goes to the chassis for the car. If not, you have noise. That's why I'm asking you if I need to ground the battery.
Hey Parker- will this set up run 5 amps? 2 boss audio at 200w, 2 boss audio at 250w and 1 Targa- at least 250w? We live on a houseboat and we had this setup run w 4 lead acids that boiled.
Hey Parker I'm putting together a competitive audio system in my car and doing it from watching UA-cam and researching what I watch I have never been to a show before or even seen a big system in my life anyway I just ordered a new head unit and 8 channel DSP for my 4 channel AAK and my AAK 6k BUT my car (19 Camry) has a head unit built into the dash without many options for replacement so I'm wanting to run a standalone setup until I can afford to swap the dash piece out anyway what I'm wondering is if I am running my speakers off the 4 channel and subs off the mono block then technically all I really need to make the head unit work is power/ground, remote and constant 12v just wanting to make sure I'm learning as I go and like to verify my thinking is correct
Hey Parker, So I have the same DC inverter and when I plug it onto my head unit, it works for 5-6 minutes before it starts to cut out and then the head unit displays “DC error” how can I fix this?
The is a great idea I'm using an old Xbox 360 power brick connected to an old Kenwood amplifier that's running a single 10 inch MTX subwoofer in an old Pioneer floor speaker box whith the mids and tweets built in works great for a shop radio but its limited to about 100 watts it doesn't sound like allot of power but it gets more than loud enough for my application 👍🏽👊🏽✌🏽💯
I've been thinking about doing something like that so I can test stuff and don't have to unhook stuff in my vehicle. What you planning to do with the Arnolds when you take them out?
Hey do you know anyone who runs soundqubed amps? The reason I'm asking is because a few months ago I got the soundqubed S1-2250 and that thing gets really hot.
Do you absolutely need the AC/DC converter/ inverter whatever its called? Or could you run it straight off the battery by itself. I'll be using 1200/2400 max wattage amp as well Another way I was thinking of doing it was attaching everything to car battery then attaching a12v charger. Should be supplying the needed voltage and everything I think
For the shop and my bedroom I just use a nobsound ns10g Vintage onky 12" towers inside and. Newer partsexpress / goldwood cabinets I made 8" woofers and mids n tweets

I was thinking of buying a av receiver. What do you think I should do? My JBL XTREME bt speaker broke and I need my tunes should I build my own or just buy another JBL XTREME?
