What if your vehicle is turned off but your stereo is still on ??
And if sometimes the same stereo automatically turns on by itself when the vehicle is turned completely off
I have the 7018b radio backup camera. mine's has the Orange and black wire, what does it get connected to? And it also has a brown and pink wire what are those get connected to? I think the pink is reverse for backup camera. But the brown wire, I have no idea!

Finally a video that actually describes this stuff instead of gatekeeping or assuming people just know it
It's always a pleasure for me to watch someone who knows what they are doing.
Thank you! 🙌
Dude, I'm a tech dinosaur. The way you explain things is exactly my learning type. I can't believe that you helped me finally wrap my head around this stuff. Thank you!
Glad to help! 👌
This was awesome. I just got myself an android touchscreen stereo for my rover 75 and for the life of me, I couldn't wrap my head around the wiring. Your video had it up and running in no time at all. Thanks bud.
Awesome! 👌
One of the best instructional video's to ever appear on YT! Great job and thanks!
Very well explained without being over informative. Just nice and simple!.Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
prime example of an exact explination. simple and straight. thanks
The Atoto kit I installed was fairly straight forward for the labeling and color coating of wires. It was the 4 sets of speakers + and -, and then the ground, ignition and straight power from the battery. Thank you for your additional information. It gave me confidence and reaffirmed my installation.
Probably the best car audio video I've seen. Very detailed and helpful! Thank-you!
Thanks Jeffrey!
So so helpful! I’ve been installing aftermarket stereos since I was a teenager but haven’t done one in about 8 years in any kind modern vehicle. Your explanation of interface finally helped me understand what is going on these days with the wiring. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! 👌
😮
Wow! Thank you so much for this video! I followed it to the letter (the soldering of the wires to the harnesses) and my stereo, which hasn't been working in over a year, is playing perfectly! Thank you! Saved me a bundle going to a car stereo repair place!
Amazing! Glad it helped!
Great video! I do have one question, though. In newer vehicles where the factory radio is able to detect whether or not the car is in park before allowing you to perform certain tasks, would it be possible to have an aftermarket radio communicate with the gearshift to do the same thing, at least in some cases, or would tapping into the parking brake wire still be required like in older cars? For example, in some Hyundai Tucson models, the factory radio will not allow you to pair a new phone to Bluetooth unless the car is in park.
Super clean work.detail is always the key to a good a job no matter what your doing.
Informative and well explained. TQ
Great video. Answered a lot of questions in my conversion to a new radio in my truck.
This is a GREAT video! Thank you :)
Easily fall in the "Must-Watch" category. Educative, informative and above all-accurate. Thank you and best wishes and will look forward to your future videos.
Thanks! Glad you found it useful!
Excellent video, very helpful, thank you!
100,000 thank yous. I have been struggling for a few days with a head unit install on my truck and in my daughter's car .... your video showed me where I was going wrong (how the acc. connection triggers the ON function). Many thanks !!!
Thanks for tips! I was struggling with wires recently during installation of Raspberry PI 4 (single board computer) with OpenAuto Pro software in my car. I decided to install two separated amplifiers for rear and front set of speakers and finally have perfect sound and modern infotainment in my car!
Enlighten me please lol I have raspberry pi and an 07 Escalade. The only way I’ve been able to integrate them is with an snes emulator for rear seat entertainment but this intrigued me
Butt connections are perfectly fine dude. Relax
Thank you so much for actually showing the harness soldering! Everyone else literally skips to the part after they soldered it which is useless, you saved my life! Awesome work
Glad it helped!
Replaced everything in my truck audio wise. Didn't think I needed an amp for my component speakers. Now that I want to add one, the info on T-ing in to the harness to add am amp without rewiring was what I needed out of this video. Thank you!
Glad we could help!
Thank you. I feel much more confident about my stereo install project
Let us know how it goes!
Man you do a great job of explaining and then demonstration
Thanks!
Great video mate! Clear and well paced and with none of the shouting a lot of presenters seem to do! I personally hate crimp connectors and always solder (using a liquid cleaner/flux ) beforehand), but thank god for "heat-shrink" such amazing stuff!!!
Thanks!

Thank you for being so thorough in the process. Lot of videos skim over alot.
Glad it was helpful!
The best video I've seen on this topic. Nice job.
Thanks Joe!

This was broken down so well ! Thank you!
Really helpful for understanding some of the basics! Thanks a lot for this video :)
Glad it helped!
Really superb. Thanks so much.
Nice video, would like to say if you used your crimp tool correctly, the wire would not pull out, you needed to turn the wire 90º when you made the second crimp to curl the terminal joints around on themselves
Extremely helpful and clear! Now I can get my radio finished up tomorrow
Glad it helped!
I can’t imagine anyone not liking your videos. I think you’ve done an amazing job. Thank you.
Haters gonna hate. I think they focus on the person on camera and find things they dislike, rather than the information which is dense and reliable
AWSOME VIDEO, THANKS A LOT!

Very good video..you explain to the point..
great video. Amazing music!!
A very solid video for us beginners out here. Well done.
My guy, thanks to you I finally have a new stereo. Thank you ! 😁
Good advice. I would argue about useing the wrong tool to crimp, try a ratcheted model that crimps two points at the same time against a third, if you find you must buy tools dont, just use the butt connectors with solder in them and heat with a disposable lighter or even a hair dryer, this also eliminates the need for any added tape as the outer silicone shrinks and is far better, not to mention it is very easy to use even for someone who has never solderd.
Would have like to heard more about remote amp turn on vs power ant. If it’s trivial and you can use either or when to use which. Great video!
You can use either, but some don’t have a power antena wire
@A. Melbs Im no expert but Power antenna is for when the radio is on so if your radio turns on at just the turn of the key then it gets 12v power, remote amp turn on is from the head unit and is made for an amp
Great video! A level of detail that I haven't been able to find anywhere else.
Glad it was helpful!
You really just saved my bro and I a lot of time and money. Thanks for that! Amazing video 💯
I've installed a basic car stereo without a harness and it took hours. The harness adapters are well worth the extra money spent
Ben Mitchell and you can put the stock unit back in if needed
Only if they make on for your vehicle , wont find any for mine , its a pain in the ass

@@detox2778 its possible but just gotta find the parts online, plastic kit harness antena adapter but yea pretty unique
while i agree solder and heat shrink is the best connection, the butt connectors will not fail if installed correctly and you arent swinging on the harness. i also advise slide heat shrink over the wire before stripping to prevent strands from folding back
Amen
Good job Bro. Very professional!
Amazing job man! 👍🏼 Thank you!
Clear and comprehensive video, thank you very much. I just got a little confused by your brief explanation about aftermarket amplifier connection. I have a 2005 Ford Focus ZX3. Just got a Pioneer AVH-1300NEX. I have a 4-channel Alpine amp I want to use. My plan is to take the RCA Pre-outs back to the amp, and run the speaker leads back to the front. I THOUGHT I heard you say I would not make the connections between the Ford Harness and the Pioneer harness for the speaker leads, but would wire the speakers to the Pioneer harness. Not to the Ford harness? How can the speakers connect via the aftermarket unit if those connections are not tied into the Ford harness in any way? Or is the Ford harness the primary, just passing the signals through to the aftermarket harness? I may have been thinking of them in reverse. I'm sure I am wrong in my thinking, not you in your presentation! Thanks for the great work.
Hah, never mind. Searched your videos and found this: ua-cam.com/video/dTX1zHgaOsI/v-deo.html

Yet I'm struggling now to understand how to connect a new mp5, GPS radio. It's for my Nissan qashqai 2008 model. I had a standard radio Bluetooth cd player inside before. I removed it.
Any chance of me asking for help? And you helping?
What i require is a diagram or images to show me what to connect where.
Is it possible for me to send you images of what I have. Then maybe you could understand what I'm talking about.
Or is that not possible.?
Either way. I would really appreciate your response and know how.

Quality Mobile Video thank you! Btw this video helped me finally hook up my stereo, so thanks again? ✌🏻
Its going on 2020 can someone please invent just 2 to 3 wires systems
Nick Davis there is a bunch of plug and play wiring harnesses! They are expensive tho.
@@carlosz4248 No such magical plug n play harness exists for obvious reasons. You will still have to connect the harness leads from the new headunit to the leads on the aftermarket harness by crimping or soldering. Then that will plug into your vehicles harness.
The deeper into the future we go the more wires come out of the woodwork.. sorry!

Awesome, thank you for explaining what each wire does!

When soldering, staggering the connections will reduce a big bump in the harness where all the connections are, it's a bit more fuss, but could be useful, and look better.
Excellent point!

Thank you thank you so much, I’ve been trying all day trying to figure out what color is what, my first time hooking up my system and running a stinger 9 conductor wire. Running 4 kicker DS for the 4door speaker and running a 8” sundown neon and (2) 6.9 sundowns on a 5channel amplifier. This video just helped me finished my set up. Much appreciated.
Great to hear!
Thank you, sir. I'm installing an interface, aftermarket stereo, 2 amps, spare tire sub, Hertz processor and 3-way components in an '06 IS250. So I have a few wires. Not my first time but my first time doing it RIGHT/in 15+ years, so THANK YOU. Goin' after that SQ baby!
2020 here, last few radios I've had were just straight wire this to that wire there, no fuses or filters. He did answer the blue wire question, as I think what my car is doing is using the ant power wire from the aftermarket radio to turn on my factory amp. I have the ISO connector and there are three unused pins on one side. And I grounded the park wire to an extra ground on the harness. Using posi-taps to join the wires and velcro wire wraps to tidy it up.
Even if this video is from 2017, you are still helping people like me... thank you so much for this excellent video. I will lookup your other videos, thanks again.
We tried to make and probably did make a decent video.

Thank you sir. Its a great video with lots of information
Thanks for the confidence booster! I have all the parts and was curious only about if harness is color to color. You answered that and some other questions I wasn't thinking about. Now I'm off in search of how to: install aftermarket amp/subs/cap to existing aftermarket head unit.
