After I replaced my vehicles 150amp alt with a Singer 350, I took my old stock 150 amp alt and connected it to an AC motor that spins at 2k rpms (120 volts 7.5 amps from the wall) and use the alt to power amps in my house or garage it's portable, with 2 d3400s as a power bank I can power a Sundown SCV2000D. There is also meanwell ac to d/c bricks that people use too.

Instead of a home sub, try building a box type of enclosure for the subs to fire into. I remember when I was younger the one car stereo car i went to was setup like that. They had a jl 10w6 triple setup in a custom made bandpass box that felt like someone was punching you in the chest. That kind of setup worked very well.

I've got some vintage amps i want to test and maybe use for a home subwoofer, so this info helped me out. The amps are a SoundStream Reference 1000s and 500s. The 1000s i'm actually in the middle of repairing after a bunch of mosfets exploded. Luckily i managed to get some help on the repairs from the guy who actually designed those late 1990's SoundStream amps who posts on a audio forum i frequent.

I'm so glad you said that about the power supply unit most people don't understand that the amps need to match the system it can start a fire if over power. thats what most of the people running a Xbox or computer supply unit don't understand it's barely enough power to run 300w amp and deck exspeclly if wire is sized wrong it to will also be bad news definitely don't want to burn 🔥down your house for a little bass. Good stuff shop looking legit bump on bass brother bass heads 🎵💥🎶💯👍👌✌️ p.s I run 2 1500w rms amps for the subs and a house receiver for the surround sound.. a similar set up as yours in my garage. I use a power supply taken from an old computer after it went belly-up. It has 12volt, 5volt and 3volt leads and will do up to 14amps of current. Use ALL yellow wires for +,
Use ALL black wires for - (ground). Cut off red and orange wires (3v and 5v leads).
Most p.s. require green and black leads jumped (trigger).
