Today we'll go through the steps on how to wire up 2nd battery in the trunk of our 3,000 watt car audio install :) The results were pretty impressive with our fresh Turbostart and stock battery compared to JUST the single Lithium setup - so be sure to watch till the end! Wow, so funny. I was sponsored by Turbo Start back in 2001. This company initially made 16 volt batteries for race cars. I contacted them and wanted to make an order for 40 of those 16V batteries and they were blown away on why I needed so many batteries. So they flew out to my house and after some dinner and drinks and a demo of my SPL monster I landed a sponsor and basically put them in touch with the car audio world. Glad to see them still going.

I thought you had to have a relay disconnecting both battery when not in use or charging as they drain each other!
Especially when not both the exact same battery!
Yeah, I used to run a smart battery monitor that senses the main battery voltage and disconnects when there's going to be a problem starting...

@@lxrdvader2021 I don't have brand alliance, but I do have some brand loyalty with XS because I have had no problems with their batteries over the long term... So that's where I spend my money. Honestly though, they're batteries. I don't think there are huge differences in the guts/performance either way. Go with the best deal.

2 questions is it safe/ does it matter if the battery is on its side? 2 have u got a aftermarket alternator? I can't remember if I've seen u do it lol. I'm running 2x 10 orian xtr pros with a hifonics zeus amp seems good enough for me from UK. Love ya vids too

So question you have a 2 fuses? One near the battery and one before it connects to the second battery and one for the amp wire?

I have a MK7 golf and NOBODY makes a factory high amp alt.... I could have one custom made but I’m thinking it might be cheaper and easier and cause less warranty liability issues with just an extra battery or ultracap

I have a 4 way fuse block with a zero gauge power wire going into it feeding power to two 8 gauge wire that's powering two amps...how do I add a battery to it....I was thinking to add it to the fuse block, but I thought it wouldn't get charged....ANY SUGGESTIONS

It's always been my understanding that subwoofers should be rear facing in order to bounce the sound waves off the trunk and back into the car and I've just been living my life that way, is it even true?

Love it its always a good thing to have lots of battery power🔋unfortunately I only got 1 AGM 1800 watt battey up front on 2 2000rms watt amps so you know I have bad voltage drops.

You've always got the slickest gear on your installs, but for someone just starting out, are there any pitfalls in choosing a second battery? I was given a little 12V 24AH that I was going to wire into a 500 rms system for practice (and to fix some minor headlight dimming). Is there anything else to consider first?
Only 500w? Do the big 3. This will help the voltage drop. The battery will help, but its also more load for the already lacking alt to charge. The big 3 will get more of your available power to the amp AND batteries.

Weight aside, what is the best secondary battery to use for car audio? AGM or lithium?
If you don't run your car consistently and want to avoid a parasitic draw between two batteries you can always get a battery isolator which is pretty cheap these days. You can actually have it turn on with your remote wire for the amplifier which would connect the two. You could also plug it into another wire for turn on that only comes on when the car is running and that way you could play a lot of music with the car off with no fear of draining the battery which starts the car.

I just bought a 20 ah AGM for under the hood, hope I didn’t mess up , I’m running a hifonics Hercules 3k about 1700 rms, I can add a second battery , I got a super start platinum from O’Reillys today, probably could have got more for the money.

Does the 2nd battery have to be connected directly to the Alternator? I have an after market alternator that wasn't cheap. I have alternator to front battery to 2nd battery in trunk. ground from front battery to 2nd battery. 2nd ground from 2nd battery to car body.
